This picture was drawn from a story before I wrote it. AraKaraath is unconscious and left to die in a warehouse fire. Nala, who is scared to death of fire, is forced to overcome her fears in order to save Ara from the blaze. Here, Nala is desperately trying to wake Ara before the flames consume them both.

My dragon sister, FireEyes, once asked me to do an anthro picture of her, so I came up with this. I wanted to capture her fun personality, showing her with a love and enjoyment of life. I did more than that. She told me it's *exactly* like her. I could not want a better compliment.

These two sketches were drawn on the fly. I was away from my studio and all my usual artwork equipment. They were drawn with use of a ball-point pen on rough notepaper. They were drawn quickly and were only meant as quick prototype sketches. But once I scanned them in and modified the contrast a bit, I decided to digitally colour them in. Working quickly and efficiently, I had them both done in half an hour. I guess you can call the 'Brutal sketches', mainly because they are just form studies and not true finished artwork pieces. You will note the smudges from handling the paper and messing up the pencil underneath... some reason I feel it adds to the rustic charm...

FireEyes is an Amethyst Mountain dragon, someone who befriended AraKaraath when he was going through his trial by Night. To him, she was a lone voice in the darkness that guided him. This is how AraKaraath sees her. I hope you like it, FireEyes.

This picture was drawn to commemorate FireEyes and her mate Keith's first year anniversary. Yay! Yay! Yay! Originally, the image I had half penned was going to be a cute cuddly picture, but I needed Keith's human face for it, and all I have from Fire was two lousy photos to work with. SO she said 'Don't worry about it. Draw him as a wolf or something. He wanted to have that form.' Okay... no problems... All I had to do now was choose a new set of colours. Because the original picture would have to be completely redrawn, I trashed the idea in favour of an idea which was originally going to be for Fire and myself. This one turned out better because it suits their personalities perfectly. Happy Anniversary, guys! Here we salute to many more wonderful years to come!

This is a special picture for my sister FireEyes. She is a party animal. She loves to go clubbing and raves to all hours of the morning. Ara, on the other hand, needs to be dragged along to these sorts of places and normally would not stick his snout into a nightclub unless asking for directions. And Ara is a lousy dancer - all of which Fire knows and make the most of when she can taunt him here. This picture was drawn for her birthday and it took a month to do. She got it late, but she loved it none the less. I love you sister!!!

This is the digital version of the piccie for Flamedrake. Definitely looks alot better coloured digitally, but you cant stick it in a frame on your desk (unless you got an uber printer). Rendering the shadows on the leaves and branches was a pain, but worth it.

This is a gift for FlameDrake because he was nice enough to pay for my airfare to visit him for a week in Brisbane. I went all out on this picture, one of the few rare AraKaraath-hand-coloured pictures around. Like all my hand coloured pictures, its small enough to fit into a 4x6 inch picture frame.

Everyone knows I love Lego, well I got my daughter into Lego too. I make this picture for a title page for my Brickshelf archive site and it will be a concept idea for the lego website I will eventually build (have three other projects in front of it at the moment)

AraKaraath use to be a stoic character. But ever since he fell in love with Xander, his perception of the world has changed. Here he carved his dedication into a tree with his sword. Once a symbol of his attitude, now it is forgotten; Ara no longer need to shake it at his foes, for he knows he is no longer alone, and forever safe in the arms of his Love.

A peice of 'Get Well Soon' artwork for Searo who has recently undergone chemotherapy for a second time and was feeling alone and isolated from the many weeks he had to spend in hospitol. This picture is meant to represent the freedom of the soul with the world just on the other side of the windows. My first attempt at translucent curtains too.

For over two years now, FireEyes and AraKaraath have been close friends. This picture shows the friendship and love that exists between the two. I originally drew this picture for FireEyes as a birthday present.

FurJam 2008

A comical scene from this year's Furjam. AussieHuskie, providing food, tripping over Temba who is getting in the way with his over-sized camera.

Everyone at Furjam only saw the Aussie half of this, so to everyone who saw the original inks, hope it makes sense now.

Gabriel has been a close friend of mine for many years. I originally gave him the character of Jest Kaa, a reckless Kanninnian figther pilot in Second Space, but in recent times I've found Jest does nto suit him anymore. And becuase Gabe is not a furrie he has no actual character for me to depict. So I sat down and thought about his personality and what form would suit him best. It was a decision between a siamese cat or a fox. I chose the fox.

Here is a better sketch of what Gabriel Fox is like, with his charming grin and glasses. When i showed Gabe the sketches he laughed an said this one looked most like him out of all the concepts I had drawn. The glasses make him look like Gabe's true self.

Trying for a character form thats a little bit more savage and bestial than your usual anthro herp, I decided to try for a anhtro reptile character based on GINO (Godzilla In Name Only) the version of Godzilla that appeared in the American version of the movie. While the movie itself was lame, the design they used for 'Godzilla' is very mirrworthy.

Don't you ever have the day where you just want to roar at them and make them go away?

When Xander told me he didn't love me anymore, I was devastated. I'm was depressed for a month afterwards, utterly lost without him. Here, Xander gives AraKaraath his ring back, and in doing so, he releases Ara from their relationship. This picture was never properly finished, mainly due to the fact I couldn't see the screen properly through my tears. I loved him very much... My first love, gone.

I recently became addicted to 'The Tick' a silly but cool superhero cartoon of the 80s. I just had to do this little tribute. So, in the words of the Tick:

Gordon Shumway

This is actually my second study of the Melmacian, Gordon Shumway, this time using the animated and comic book versions of ALF for reference. I like this method alot better than my previous attempts.

Very happy how he turned out.

I'm not jumping on the bandwagon - mrk-9 and lilglenndoggy just beat me to the punch because of my laziness with their awesome works, and that got me interested in my Melmacian projects.

Originally, G'vaald was a Gassion dragon, but a friend of mine, back in 1994 (who like to look through my drawings), asked 'You don't have any black dragons. Why is that?' My friend was American Negro, so I understood what he meant by 'black'. I had no answer. I kept to the 'traditional' colours for dragons; red, blue, gold, white, green, etc. So I thought, 'Aye, why not have dark skinned dragon?' And so, G'vaald became dark brown, more fitting to a tracker and Forest Master.

This year we decided to dress up as each other!

Yes, its a little late, but it was suppose to be finished in time for Halloween. Only things came up in real life that pretty much prevented me form completing the picture and stuffed up my interest in finishing it, until now when I decided 'I really *must* finish that picture.'

Arcty and Ara dressed up as an Elite and the Master Chef from the X-box game, Halo. This is also perfect timing for the release of Halo 2.

Trick or Treat 2008

Ah, that wonderful time of the year when reluctant parents take their kids out to pretend to be ghouls and imps for a night. I stopped short of letting Wai take her bogroll cannon ™ for her 'trick'.

This is piece is late because of my nightmare scanner (possessed) and horrific lighting (darkness is Satan's jizzim). Literally, the devil is in the details.

While not strictly a IAPW comic, this comic is in the same universe, sorta. Its more a silly idea that just came to me and I thought it would make a good comic. I did want to try using a different inking style but failed completely as it looks like like anything else I've ever done.

Twin brothers joined since birth, Heke and Yokai have had hard lives. Here they sit on a park bench, perhaps contemplating the autumn weather. A very late pressie for a wonderful pic Yokai did for me.
