This drawing was originally meant for a larger piece. The final image was to have two dragons, this and another yet to be penned, in mortal combat with the High Clerist Tower in the background. Alas, the undertaking was too large for me at the time and I needed a *very* big lightbox- which was not available to me at the time. So the image was never completed. I still doubt the piece will ever be done, but I have these bits and pieces from the art. Behold, the Blue Dragon of Krynn... (For all you DragonLance fans out there...)

A random sketch that became a full-blown image in inks. A kHrol'Gah citadel, formed from a stone seed, created by the Ancients in a hope their decendants will once again retore their species to the former glory of long past ages.

The Kehlranni hunter tells the Mighty Ocean exactly what he thinks of its powers. This piece was originally to be set on a cliff, but the ocean scene makes the image more powerful.

The Draconians of the Dark Sun appeared on Geldour during the Eclipse of the White Sun, when the Dark God, Moraden, tried to wrest control of the world from the Light God, Tsal'Kaan. The Rampak is a large, brutal warrior. It's viciously horned goat head and four arms makes it a powerful opponent.

These centaur-like beasts are as deadly as they are fast. Even unarmed they are dangerous in tooth and claw.

This is one of my favourites. The huge chest muscles drive the wings allowing it to fly. The Raptors are dangerous when flying in groups.

Never cross a Dragon Magic-user. This study was drawn during a boring lecture on Computing Theory. This was one of my first sketches of my the 4th Generation Dragons.

The Dragon in flight is one of the most exhilarating sights to see. Born to freedom, the Dragon represents the unfettered soaring of the heart and imagination.

It almost took me forever to get a Dragon to sit still long enough for me to quickly draw a sketch. Dragons are best draw in action. Still life portraits of dragons do them no justice.

This was meant to be larger, but it was never finished. It was to depict two dragons in combat, but the second dragon, the dominant one, was never drawn. Only this one was sketched. So that is why it looks funny. Just imagine another dragon with the advantage circling above this one and you'll see what this picture was suppose to look like.

The Gassion dragons originate from the Gassion Mountains, north of Chiron City. These dragons are hardy and have excellent eyesight. They are also indifferent to cold and heat. Gandel, Coaggh's foster father, is a Gassion Dragon.

The Glory of the Hunt.. ..and the Honour of the Kill. Typical creed spoken by the nomadic Kehlranni tribes. The wear their hunting prowess with pride, often it wins them respect and position in a Tribe's favour. The Hunt is a major part of Kehlranni culture, not only for survival, for food, but also for social status. The second picture, note the Hunter wears a necklace of teeth. These are proof-of-kill badges to show how many successful kills the hunter has made. Usually made of teeth from predatory or larger animals, prey worthy of respect.

The Humak were a study in retro-evolution. Working on the assumption that humans evolved from a species other than the primates, this is the result I achieved. The Humak are an sentient, elegant wolf-like race, they are the size and weight of a Man, and can easily out run him. The are primarily predators, but the can eat vegetables and fruits.

Their society is quite complex. They are intelligent tool users and are capable of a high level of technology. They live in communal packs of extended families. Unlike wolves, they do not elect an Alpha male, but each male has equal status. They also have equality between sexes, as roles of childcare and hunters / providers is swapped between males and females, although in general, the males are the hunters and protectors and the females are the caregivers.

Humaks enjoy lounging in the sunshine, and it serves as a major part of their social interactions. Many members of the pack will socialise with others during the 'rest' period when they sun themselves. Hunting and foraging is usually reserved for the dusk or early morning when the temperature is cooler and the sun is not so high. Socialising usually consists of conversation, nuzzling and grooming. They tend to form bonding pairs, although their sexual relations are not monogamous. This is probably to extend the gene pool as much as possible, while still having their own personal relationships.

200x300 13650 bytes 2000.10.03
Although the Humak is primarily uses all fours to move, they can on occasions be biped. They can be quite good at this in order to use their forelegs as arms, but they quickly fall back to using all four legs whenever they can. Normally, they do not have modesty in the way Humans do and they do not wear clothes.
| Image: humak5.jpg
150x200 9244 bytes 2000.10.03
Here is a picture that shows the structure of the forepaws of a Humak. The toes are short compared to Human fingers but are quite dexterous. They are tipped with soft pads to protect them when walking and to lend grip when holding objects. The palm is also padded. The dew claw is well developed and serves as a thumb. Astute veiwers will probably notice an unusual resemblance between the Humak here and the author. Ur.. any similarity is coincidental. Although, if I were to be a humak, that's what I'd look like... ];=8}
