Generally, I try and refine most of my sketches before coloring them on the machine but with this one I wanted to go a little crazy, take something raw and see if I could refine it, using stray lines as guides. I like him. He's cranky. ^_^

Gentle King (almost finished)

Acrylics on a 20x15.5 inch canvas (with gold leaf accents). Debating on adding in some more highlights and details but I may leave him as is. Real paintings are new to me. Haven't done one in well over a decade so its been quite a ride relearning how paint works with brushes on canvas. Or tries not to work. ;p If I can manage it, I'll be auctioning him off at MFF's art show this November. It'll be hard to part with him, since he's basically my first real painting, but I kinda made him with the intention of selling so we'll see what happens.

Creepy Tree Shael

I'm about to sell him, so I figured I'd do an newer scan and repost Shael looking up to no good while he sits on an abstract burnt-looking shrubbery. ;p This was done back in 2003, on ink paper with colored pencils and a micron. The micron actually went over the black pencil parts, giving it a neat effect of having a light sheen.

A sort of would-be scene from Marble Town, story I seem to be endlessly tweaking. In the actual writing process now. This is another recoloring of an older version. This is much more what I was originally shooting for, and a hell of a lot more clear.

Khaytier's Nocturne

"Though darkness lay, It will give way, When the dark night, Delivers the day" - snippet from Secret Garden's Nocturne.

I could just see her spinning poi to this song echoing in the distance, with nothing but her breath, her thoughts and the winds through softly cutting through the tallest of redwoods. I wish I had the capacity to picture the scene as I feel it.
