Cicadas drive me insane. Anyhow, done in colored pencils and a bit of black ink for Arphalia's hair and outline. Started out as one of those moody for-me sketches. The coloring bits started in the lobby of Midwest FurFest back in November. It sat around unfinished ever since, until I needed something to warm up on before getting back into these badges. "Solitary Arphalia" Done in colored pencils and black ink. Its been a while since I brought a sketch 'for me' to completion. This has been sitting half colored on my desk for months. Art and Arphalia ©2oo3 to me.

Ink doodle of Aye Ayes drawn up to look Edward Gorey-ish, though I think there's a bit of Burton in there too. They were fun.

Blue Moon. Colored pencils, markers on background and black ink and some dark red ink. As I've been mentioning everywhere else, this was done gradually between other commissions for the hell of it since the initial reason for sketching it in the first place went down zee crappah. Original will be/is for sale, at the moment though, only through email offers. Perhaps on Furbid or at Midwest Furfest if no offers happen to make me jump on a sale. A sort of would-be scene from Marble Town, story I seem to be endlessly tweaking. In the actual writing process now. This is another recoloring of an older version. This is much more what I was originally shooting for, and a hell of a lot more clear.

Another progress image, though I don't think it needs to be in sketches like the others from last week. (Go to my sketches section to see those. A lot more liney.) What this one needs yet is a background and a little more work on the character. So far its been done with light grey marker with black and white colored pencils over it. www.spankedassassin.com

Khaytier's Nocturne

"Though darkness lay, It will give way, When the dark night, Delivers the day" - snippet from Secret Garden's Nocturne.

I could just see her spinning poi to this song echoing in the distance, with nothing but her breath, her thoughts and the winds through softly cutting through the tallest of redwoods. I wish I had the capacity to picture the scene as I feel it.
