ATC-like thing (but a quarter-inch smaller in both dimensions) ... a gift for my grandfather. This is my grey, Moldy, because she loves him.

The scan really bothers me.

moribund.gif
Image: moribund.gif   700x587 23027 bytes 2005.11.21

This is Moribund, a fairly old character of mine whom I rarely draw. Despite the rather effeminate appearance, Moribund is indeed MALE. He was originally a (severely deformed) white-necked raven gryph but now he's pretty much just a (severely deformed) generic corvid gryph. He's the second of three death deities I created for stories, but I forget exactly which stage of the dying process he represents. I should definitely draw him more often.

AND SERIOUSLY YOU GUYS, SEND ME FEEDBACK. Not just about this, about anything. I love knowing what you think about my stuff.

I dug this up yesterday while cleaning... it's a portrait of my character Moth, lady of pestilence and decay. This is from February '05 (as one can see from the signature..), but I like it, so I have uploaded it.

Warm, sleepy Verveine. Lucky her.

I wish I had a dense feathery coat to keep me warm... nature's greatest insulator! Unfortunately Verveine just has fur. Hahahaha.

newcharhead.jpg

Another ballpoint headshot of my new character. She's still nameless, but I plan to colour this.

newcharheadclr.jpg
Image: newcharheadclr.jpg   400x390 25715 bytes 2006.12.19

Rather hasty colouring of the headshot I did earlier. Not entirely accurate, but it serves its purpose for now.

OKAY LAST VERSION OF THIS PICTURE I SWEAR.

Took some coloured pencils to the original. The colouring's rough due to the paper's being completely unsuited for the waxiness of the pencils. It's a great paper for doing the ballpoint headshots, but I probably should have printed a copy onto a toothier paper to colour. Oh well.

This coloured version is a little more accurate than the other, but its "grunginess" makes it unsuitable for ref purposes. Blah.

nonmorphicave.jpg

This was originally intended to be a "nonmorphic" Ave, but I decided against it.

This would be a really cute vector logo for something, I think. Zombie gryph in messy pen.

For Otome Urufu, 'cause her character is just so pretty.

Otome belongs to Courtney Woodall. So don't steal her.

Patchs the ragdoll dog for :DA's Lil-Chiz666!! A trade.

Not sure whether it's supposed to be Patchs or Patches, but the former is the way she spells it, so that's what I did. VERY cool character! Her tongue is supposed to be pink/green striped but you can't see that at ALL here. Letters and outline are sparkly, as usual and the piercings (ear, tongue) are metallic silver.

pauraque.gif

An avianthropic pauraque collects its book after dropping it in surprise.

A pauraque (Nyctidromus albicollus) is a type of nightjar found in the Western hemisphere with VERY complex camouflaged markings. My rendition of the species is one of almost absurd simplicity. Google pauraques NOW. They're so cute. If you don't think so, there is something seriously wrong with you.

Plain ol' Pilot pen doodle on cardstock, just my Amy, her 2006 design's head.
Thumbnail looks REALLY bizarre.

"Bored in maf" drawing, should have used a ref, but couldn't. I haven't done anything purely graphite in a while... haven't coloured much of anything either. Hopefully this marks the beginning of the end of that trend.

Trade with DA's stitched-up-smile666, her white Pom character Pepper. I am not good with th'poms... I make them look more mediumspitzy.

ANYWAY scanner kills detail, obviously watermark is not present in original, she is outlined in sparkly blue, spikes on collar are sparkly silver, etc etc etc.

I think that this is just so cute!

The zombie gryphlet wants the normal gryphlet to play with it, but the latter gryphlet is disgusted. Poor little zombie.

poofybadge.jpg

Badge gift for the pure undiluted awesome that is Poofy. She's one of my three anthro-art idols and she recently watched me on FA (where I made a gallery, obviously), which was a real joyful aneurysm moment.
Her eyebrow barbell and nail-tooth are sparkly silver, as is her border.

Doodled quickly in a friend's teeny little sketchbook because she left it at my house. LEFT SKETCHBOOKS = AVELACUNA SURPRISES.

I'm quite pleased with this, although the scan unfortunately does not do it any justice whatsoever. It's much smoother and nicer looking in real life.

Just a tropical-looking gryphlet, Prismas on Mi-Teintes paper. God I love that paper.

Quick li'l coloured zombie gryph rampant, inspired somewhat by heraldic beasties of olde. Unlike them, however, this one is festively spotted. WITH ROT.

For DA's xenidra, who draws spectacular many-limbed beasts, among other equally delightful things. She deserves a LOT more pageviews than she gets, why not check her page out?

The one in front is her Alamar, lunatic sorcerer and dog king. The one behind is my Sangria, the demon malamute. They're both red and they both smile. Hence, "red puppy smile crew".

My beloved cockatiel Zap somehow tore his foot last night and began bleeding uncontrollably.. I tried every method I knew of stemming blood flow but it all failed. We ended up taking him to Angell Memorial Hospital, a VERY reputable veterinary center.

But before that... we drove around, lost, for a while with the poor, weak little bird in the middle of the night... ugh. We eventually found the place and Zap stayed overnight for subcutaneous fluid treatment and oxygenation. I was entirely drained emotionally by the end of the night's ordeal. I got him back today, he seems to be doing okay, and he was SO mad at me! I'm just so relieved..

One of the extras for Velo. This is his girlfriend's character, Resin the dire wolf.

Urghh... did this on a paper that was apparently not-so-good for pens and markers.
So it looks a little funny. Colouring the area around the name resulted in nasty grunginess, which I suppose fits with the character, but not my personal badge aesthetic. Hah. So I tried to fix it with sparkliness.

ANYWAY. This is my half of a badge trade with Underdog Rikki.

How can you not love the zombie gryphons? Oh... yeah. They're drippy. and they smell.
I really wish I had avian anatomy tables. Improvising on musculature and skeletal structure, as one can see I did here, is bad.
Other than that, I like the original of this image a lot... making it suitable for upload eliminated some of the details.

Trade with DA's senselessessence... her Rydchistit. She has a bitty pyramid on her tongue!!! Why? I don't know. I know she likes Pyramid Head. Vore? Who knows.

Well, it's been nearly a YEAR, but I am uploading again.

Here's a comparison I did yesterday of Sabarika's and my huskyjackal fursona's facial markings. My side is screwy, but Sabby's is cute.

I was asking myself why I bought that neat pen if I never use it. Same question goes for my plate bristol.

Here's Sagoriquet again, only much bristlier and more hostile looking than the other picture.
