	Image: Heroic-chakat.jpg 546x600 181017 bytes 2000.01.06 Out of the swirling mists strides the heroic chakat, battlestaff at the ready. This picture is actually a multi-artist effort. The initial pencil sketch came from the Carspeckens who tried their hand at a Chakat. It ended up looking much like a fox, but the pose was good. So I tweaked the image until it looked right, inked and coloured it in Photoshop. They were pleased with it, and I hope you are too. Chakat © 2000 Bernard Doove.

They're all thoroughly enjoying themselves at a moonlit luau on Spontoon Island. The B&W version of this drawing appeared in Spontoon Island #7, while the full colour version will be on the cover of South Fur Lands #19. Pencils were done by Roy D. Pounds II.
