Environment: Swamps and bogs

Diet: omnivore, though being toothless they can only eat what can be gulped down without a problem

Omus are an original critter design by Wylde.

They are... not the brightest critters on Ileyeah's surface.
Actually... that's the understatement of the century. X3
Their surface is always moist and slimy, either through their surrounding or through their own doing. X3
Since they have no arms they usually either dig up their food or snatch it with their beak like muzzle.

MAoI - Bloppard

Name: Bloppard

Environment: plainlands, as well as tropical regions

Diet: omnivore, with stress on fish and birds

Except for their tails and "tentacles" Bloppards look very much like regular otters. They usually hunt for Felifeys (tiny Hummingbird-gryphons) by diving and only sticking out their tails, "fishing" for the birds with the fake blossom at the tip of their tail. They can also hunt for fish in a similar way by lying in the water on their back letting their tentacles float downwards, pretending to be algea. The very sensible limbs will react as soon as a fish comes close and curl around the prey.

MAoI - Short-tailed Glaciertrunker

MAoI = Miniature Art of Ileyeah (Miniature for those are all ACEOs)

Name: Short-tailed Glaciertrunker

Environment: mountains, snowplains

Diet: herbivore

They are among the smallest snow-dwelling critters on Ileyeah. They preferably inhabit underground caves and tunnels were they live in large family colonies. They are very social and even more fruitful! While usually very cautious they can be easily tamed, but also just as easy adapt back to life in wilderness if released again.

MAoI - Javinn

Name: Javinn aka. Snake-Monkey

Environment: mountains and colder areas in general

Diet: mainly ovivore, will hunt for anything edible though, feed on carrion, too

Javinns are egg thieves that roam the Ileyehen mountains either solitary or in couples. They crack open most egg shells with their enourmous teeth that are provided with the necessary power by a most powerful jaw.
The additional name "Snake Monkey" referrs to the fact that, at some point in evolution, Javinns were actually reptiles and cold blooded. Some features remained reptilian till today i.e. no auricles, the dark coloured areas are actually covered by smooth scales.

MAoI - Dunehopper

MAoI = Miniature Art of Ileyeah (Miniature for those are all ACEOs)

Name: Dunehopper, male

Environment: most eares of the desert, preferably the rocky ones

Diet: mainly herbivore --> roots, leaves, berry, but also insects and smaller mammals if available

Dunehoppers are like their habitat: tough and rather ugly on the outside. Their fur is raspy and their skin extremely dry and full of wrinkles. They are very fast and excellent climbers. If threatened they will defend themselves with the hoof like claws on their feet as well as their teeth. In general they are rather hard to intimidate and will fight till the very end.

Bloodhound Omega - Reference Sheet

It has been 10 years that Bloodi accompanied me through my life. 10 full years... and my poor baby never even had a reference sheet. It was about damn time I changed that.

See it as an anniversary special of some sort.

This thing here ripped me out of rather dark and deep hole in which I have fallen after switching jobs. The lack of time for art, the pain and weariness after work as well as other things are still factors I need to adjust to. But at least I seem to have recovered a bit of will.

I am trying to surround myself with things I enjoy as much as I can, avoiding those that only upset me. Let's see where it leads me.


Anyway... have some Bloodi you all.

Hunting Lesson

My last picture for EuroFurence and my entry for the Werewolf calender contest.

This piece is rather large, especially for a full colour one and I am expecting to take it back home with me, but since it was more meant for myself anyway I don't mind.

Anymoo. My biggest fear was ist, that I would draw something more like an anthro wolf instead of a "decent" were, as I imagine them to be, so I am happy that I at least didn't in that part. ^^;

I have seen photos and movie footage of older wolves teaching the others about hunting: simulating the hunt and even carrying around bones of prey and this is what I wanted to hint at.

Approaching Storm

Coloured a Sketch from 2006

What you can see is a male Unseeing Bloodhound. The Unseeing are a clan of desert Hounds that have reserved a special place in my heart. They are desert dwellers and can read the sand and the wind like no other. This fellow here probably has taken shelter in the canyon long ago, to now enjoy the spectacular force of nature that is rumbling towards him.

Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus

This is just a small (around ACEO sized) head study of a Spinosaurus. It also happens to be the first picture which staisfies me enough in copic coloured state, that I do not feel the urge to go over it with coloured pencils.

It has a nice sketchy feeling to it, which I like a lot. :)

Minmi-Amazon

When you think of dinosaurs you think of names such as "Tyranosaurus", or "Velociraptor" or "Triceratops"... well... and then there's "Minmi". X3 Minmi Paravertebra, to be precise. This name stuck with me so bad, I had to so something with it and since my "mature" panel for AC needs to be filled a bit more and I wanted to do something curvy anyway... err... I am rambling.

Anyway... have some big Australian Paleo-lady! Enjoy. *pokes her outy*

I don't know if I'll manage to finish the other two tiny things for AC in time... may head is working against me so far though... but I'll try...

Keychain Templates - Chart 1

I am having trouble to concentrate on "decent" art lately, so I finally pulled myself together and started working on something, I wanted to do for a while: templates for key chains. :)

These pre-made motifs will soon be available for sale (that is, exceot of three of those you see in this chart). Slight alterations and re-colouring will also be options, but I will not offer this service publically, before MMC is over. Besides I owe it to my sketch commission clients to work on their art first. ^^ I already printed out a few test examples and I am really happy with the outcome. :D

These are sooo much fun though and I definately want to create more races!

Miniature Art of Ileyeah - Dreamdancer vs. Bloodhound

aka. "Oh Shiii...!"

So, I actually managed to finish the second double ACEO before I head off to my parents again and I gotta confess I am rather happy with the outcome of it. I was very afraid of drawing the Dreamdancer (wormthingy) in a full frontal, knowing how hard it is for me to translate profiles into a different angle. But it really turned out how I imagined it to be and it makes me twice as happy.

I experimented with different colours of ink (as well as colour intensity) to indicate distance and I think it turned out nicely.

Miniature Art of Ileyeah - Tidae vs. Leaper

Drawing "Sons of the Desert" was like licking blood... >,< I seriously miss dwelling in Ileyeah, my critters, my hounds... for the time being though small art related to them will have to suffice.

This piece has the size of two ACEOs put together and there will be one more like this, only desert themed. Which reminds me that I probably should continue my MAoI ACEO series at some point.

Anymoo... These are two Tidae hunting down a female Leaper. Tidae are (next to Bloodhounds) the most dangerous predators in the plain lands. Moving in prides they can even become a serious harm to fully grown Hounds.

Sons of the Desert - Reprise

This is a remake of a doodle I had draw into my notes somewhen during my second or third semester at university. Xp I love my Unseeing and the Devilram is still one of my favourite critters that I have designed so far. Working on this made me feel really good even though it's really tiny and nothing fancy or special.

The writing in the left is stylized version of an "alphabet" I have made up... whoa... almost ten years or so ago. XD

On final thought... it's a shame the Unseeing kinda gets lost next to the ram.... eh... need more practise in bw art anyway.

My first picture for a planned collaborative portfolio that will consist of rats and mice only. :) Somehow I thought that a rat as a the pied piper would be a neat idea. In this case, of course, there will be no mass-drowning of poor little rodents and instead he'll all lead them to paratice. (pardon the lame pun) ^^

Homotherium Latidens

After I had drawn a drawn a Smildon in 2007 --> http://bloodhound-omega.deviantart.com/art/Smi-Sma-Smilodon-56904989 (gosh, is it really that long ago?) I had the urge to draw another sabretoothed cat. First I wanted to do a melanistic Smilodon, but somehow I thought that wouldn't fit to the pose I chose, so I turned it into a Homotherium Latidens. No serious research done for this one. I designed it according to 40% references and 60% fun.

Every now and then I feel like drawing my little Devil Hare Akuma and last week was such an occasion. :3 I put her into a more modern garnment, for this occasion, as I found some rather neat corsetts online. It's a comparably small piece (around the size of two ACEOs put together), but I am rather fond of it. I simply adore the wing design :iconloupgarou: once gave her.

She does look like a little mega lesbian in thies piece.
...
She's not though. ;p


I like to point out again, that she's a hare, not a bunny. Hence the long muzzle. X3

I have recently developed a strong obsession for "Army of Lovers" and they managed to inspired me here and there even in art.
