Anubis and the Feather of Truth

This drawing was started in late '04, and was intended for Further Confusion 2005 "Furries of the Nile." It wasn't finished in time, and languished in a folder until this January, when I dusted it off and finished it up for FC 2007. Marker, colored pencil, and gold acrylic on Bristol Board. This one was based on a picture I took at Toei Uzumasa Movieland in Kyoto
(though mind you, the "geisha" wasn't a kitty-cat). The kimono had gold
designs on it that didn't scan very well. Her name is "Kaede," Japanese
for maple. Apologies for the large file size; the detail on her obi also
didn't scan very well, and I had to keep the JPEG as high-quality as

Unlike most grey tabbies, my cat Sakura has no black on
her at all - just subtle shades of grey. I've been meaning
to anthro-fy her for some time, and for some reason this
came out when I was working on stuff for Further Confusion.
It seemed natural to put her in a kimono, arranging the

Okay, so I know chameleon color-shifting doesn't work quite like this,

I love the markings on cheetahs, and this grew out of a desire to practice
those lovely face markings, and a great love for Mucha. Pen and colored

Something of an exercise, to try a different angle and different shading. I molded a crude little cheetah out of clay, wrapped its hand around a chopstick, and set it on the end table with my reading lamp shining on it for a model. Sugar Plum Ferret

A ferret ballerina dances the Sugar Plum Fairy from the Nutcracker. Done in 2005, but never edited for online. Drawn from a paused DVD of my daughter's local Nutcracker production. Copyright 2005 Bridget E. Wilde.

This was a commission I did for a friend of mine, something of a ferret
portrait of her. (I do have her permission to display her furry likeness,
of course). The "bed" of socks, coke can, wallet, and remote control
are all things her ferrets like to... appropriate. Pen, marker, and

An angelic fox... The wings and clothes were detailed in grey marker, which
unfortunately tends to scan very poorly. Marker on Bristol Board.
