Yeah, okay, so Hallowe'en is supposed to be scary and stuff, but I don't deal with scary very well, so I'm going cute! Yay! ^_^\r\nIt's Kamikire, all decked out in her witch costume, riding on an authentic flying broom. Don't ask where she got it, she won't tell. ^^;;; And yes, that's poor little Kerri perched on the back, terrified and... er... nekkid. ^^;;;;;;\r\nSee, she made the mistake of letting Kami pick the costumes they were gonna wear and, according to Kami, witch's familiars don't wear clothing, right? So all poor Kerri's got on issa collar. Why on earth did she go along with it, you ask? Well..... that's Kami's secret. ;)\r\n*giggle* Poor Kerri.. running about naked on Hallowe'en, and to top things off, she doesn't like heights.. or flying. I finished it in time for Hallowe'en! Yay!\r\nAnd I coloured it completely differently than I have before. I've heard this called cel shading, like they do in animation, and I wanted to give it a try. It was done in Photoshop and it's ... very different than I usually do, but not unwelcome. I think I did an okay job,and I'm happy with the way the picture came out! Have a Happy and safe Hallowe'en everybody! I just LOVE Egyptian type things.. well, okay, Ancient Egypt type things.. hence why I was in line this past Friday (May 6th) for the opening night of 'The Mummy Returns'!! That was soooo cool! And the Army of Anubis was really killer! It's inspired some new artwork from me, this one is one of them! I'm working on another one right now, actually.. I dunno.. is it Egyptian enough? ^^;; Art © Carrie Legault!

The Great God Anubis is god of both the dead, and of mummification. According to Ancient Egyptian Myth, Anubis himself embalmed and mummified the great Osirus, and placed his tomb under his protection. Tomb robbers would be a little leery of raiding tombs if they knew they were protected by the great god of the dead, Anubis. Specially if they saw something like this picture I drew... woo... nasty jackal warrior dood.. but wow.. I impressed myself.. it looks right! Yay!!! =D

I inked it! Yay! I'm lucky I was able to save it though.. I got water on it and the ink started to run and I was ready to cry cause I'd been working on it for like.. well over an hour or more. Hooray for Photoshop! I took it in there and cleaned it up, and yay! It's saved! I think I might sell prints of this one after I colour it. Interested in buying a print? Email me!

This picture pays homage to one of my personal favourite manga artists, Junko Mizuno! She has the most amazingly adorable but terribly sexy style, and yet, her pictures carry such wonderfully different and bizarre imagery! If you haven't read or seen any of her stuff, then please, check it out! She's in 'Pulp' magazine, her serial manga, Cinderalla, and also on jlist.com. I went in and inked the cute picture of Kamikire, and when I was done, my sweetie scanned it and then decided to try his hand at some digital colouring in Photoshop. He did a -great- job, for his first attempt! He's not an artist, but a writer. He says it came out okay because the picture style lends to flat colour, but I think it's great for a first try from someone who never draws or colours, don't you? I just love how this came out!
