A SHAGGY Arab!? Hahahahahaha hehehe ahahaha-- Huh? What did you say? /Shagya/ Arab? Oh... never mind.

I've been kinda stuck on doing computer coloured stuff lately, but when our power suddenly went out for a few hours yesterday and my computer was unavailable... Yah, Kay gets updated. I couldn’t find my regular inking pen..these new ones aren't as good :(

Image: tarphrse.jpg   367x505 56015 bytes 2001.07.05

When i was little, our baby sitter had a horse that was walking in the pasture and stepped on a board with a nail in it and it swung up and hit him on the head. The horse died. The daughter of the baby sitter thought it would be cool to show a little 6 year old (me) the dead horse under the blue tarp behind the barn. Needless to say I've never forgotten what i saw...

Looks like someone is having a bit too much fun with her tablet as of late...

Image: arab.jpg   576x576 69419 bytes 2001.07.05

*stares in disbelief* It came out looking halfway GOOD! I'm amazed! I love my tablet! I don't really like Arab horses, but after my mom and i got back from riding the other day, this popped into my head and i had to draw it. Rather cliche, but oh well.

Image: tazzie.jpg   719x573 92961 bytes 2001.06.29

Oooo, my dream horse :D I've always wanted a big, black, draft-type horse with feathering around the hooves, tall white socks on all four feet and a thick blaze right in the middle of it's face. I know that i would name it Fantasma, Tazzie for short. I also know that i will never get one like that, so i drew myself one, finally. I like the horse, the background on the other hand, well at least its not all one colour...

Image: butyquen.jpg   351x244 20964 bytes 2001.06.27

Ehh, i don't think she likes me anymore... (no, i dont tie bows in her hair for real, thats just too much, but painting her nails is fun *nod*)

Image: albirat.jpg   555x373 35346 bytes 2001.06.27

First you have to make your hand and brain work together. Then you have to make your hand draw what your brain sees. Then, when your hand can draw what your brain sees, you have to work on what your brain sees. And if that doesn't work then you have to let your hand see for it's self.

Image: madrat.jpg   548x678 95731 bytes 2001.06.27

Rio(hooded rat): "Man, they need to put warning labels on these things!" (I wanted it to look kinda sketchy and for as messy ended up it sure did take WAY too long. I wont do it again. The can was kinda fun though...)

Image: cuterio.jpg   297x301 25099 bytes 2001.06.27

When i was doing a rough colouring job for madrat.jpg on the computer, this is the only part of the pic that i actually liked better than the real pic so i cut it out to use it. Itsa pic of a young looking Rio coloured in Painter with my tablet.

Image: critbw.jpg   590x666 57471 bytes 2001.06.25

(sorry for the re-upload, better file) Oooo... The result of: too much Animal Planet, being bored, and wanting to work with something on the computer. It started with llama ears, then the bunny type head and the lion-ish mouth, all the way down to "What kind of feet would this critter have?" logically that would be hooves... fuuuunn..... \r\n

Image: dadshrse.jpg   545x387 45157 bytes 2001.06.24

My dad saw this and said "Hey finally, a horse i can ride!" Only thing is that i bet this horse walks funny, very little leg room ;)

Image: ratstn.jpg   357x304 33855 bytes 2001.06.16

My stained glass rat head is all done. I liked it better when the solder was still its regular silver colour, but then a friend and i decided to put the copper stain on it instead. The colours are a little different, but i never expected my scanner to get them right anyway.

Image: sabmt.jpg   722x522 75991 bytes 2001.06.16

Drew this yesterday. I was bored, so i started drawing some kinda cat thing and it turned into this. I'm really trying to get my backgrounds to be better, is it working? Prisma markers on sketchbook paper.

Image: run2.jpg   720x520 85620 bytes 2001.06.16

Old pic of two dogs that was in my sketch book. I wanted to colour something with my Prisma markers, so i attacked it in class today (our last day, yeah! finally) and finished it at home.

Image: Eliza.jpg   442x331 42340 bytes 2001.06.13

And this is Eliza. She's the bigger of the two rats. Too big to fit all the way in the little box... :D She has a little white tummy, but you can't tell from this. Both done with Prismacolor pencils on sketchbook paper and computer text.

Image: Dora.jpg   448x328 40317 bytes 2001.06.13

This is Dora, one of my newest rats. I got Dora and her sister last week after Jewel died. Dora is very hyper so she decided not to stay in the box for her Yah...Dora the Explorer :P

Image: bluesrch.jpg   423x390 35722 bytes 2001.06.08

Everyone but me seems to *really* like this pic. Dog thing under a tight blue cloth. I need better blue colours...

Image: ratglass.JPG   277x223 9200 bytes 2001.06.07

This is the pattern I should be using for my little sun-catcher. There is a frosty dark blue to go around it too, but when I drew this I didn't know that yet...

Image: hrglss.jpg   517x657 70911 bytes 2001.06.07

I'm in a stained glass class for the last two weeks of school this year. I was inspired to draw this, though its certainly *not* going to be my pattern. I would go nuts trying to cut all those hair shards... Coloured in Paint Shop Pro 5 with the flood fill and airbrush tools.

Image: jewel.jpg   335x452 41465 bytes 2001.06.04

How do you say goodbye to someone you have known since the day they were born, who lived half their life being tormented by high school students in a biology classroom, who was there when her mother died, who would sit next to you while you drew endless amounts of pictures and who had a tumor weighing half her final body weight? Maybe i should thank her instead. What a wonderful rat you were Jewel. You can take your well deserved rest now.

Image: poedivy.jpg   356x452 51439 bytes 2001.06.03

(Sorry for the re-upload but I finally got a better “scan” of it. Had to take a screen shot of it and paste it into PSP) It’s my dog Ivy... She has her good days and her bad days. This would be a good day lol Nah, she's just not happy that we are babysitting my cousin's Labrador. Ever notice how red doesn't do too well with compression?

Image: roll.jpg   517x719 68341 bytes 2001.05.31

"Roll" is a story about a young albino rat that gets shoved off a washing machine by the family cat. He suffers severe brain trauma and his sense of balance is destroyed. Up and down have no difference. He slips into trances and spins from back to belly uncontrollably. Horrible dreams of his worst fear, cats, plague his mind. As if undefined directions weren't bad enough, he never knows if his next nightmare will last forever... (You were a good rat, Keegan. Sleep well little man!)

Image: kaystorm.jpg   506x588 75688 bytes 2001.05.26

Drawn while watching one of my favorite movies, The Prince of Egypt, and wondering what it all must have been like. It's Kay, sitting and thinking about something sad maybe? Or something really happy and she is full of joy. Even i don't know, and thats not too good... The background..i got stuck so i made a storm outside the cloth but not inside... I like where the lightening meets the ground. And do you notice her new makings? A big thank you to Leona who sent me her suggestion that i fiddled with to get something i liked :)

Image: owlmoon.jpg   648x504 24201 bytes 2001.05.23

My first animal pic done entirely on my Wacom tablet in Painter Classic. Its a barn owl or potato faced owl as i *still* call them heh.. Oh come on, don't you know what i mean? You may use the pic, but gimme credit for it, k?

Image: kaycolor.jpg   545x587 47280 bytes 2001.05.22

WAIT!! You, yes you, please help me if you want. I'm trying to figure out new markings for Runt, and I'm not really happy with any of the ones i came up with, #3 is okay... but if you wouldn't mind colouring the one that is just lines and emailing it back to me how you suggest(just so the file isn't too big, you know..). Keeping it kinda similar to the norm if ya could... Please :D:D Thank you!!

Image: rbbrdcky.jpg   774x490 78589 bytes 2001.05.22

I went to camp last summer and we chose the Rubber Duckies as our team mascot thing. I drew the duck while at camp (he's wearing camouflage and holding a paintball gun because we played that while at camp) and then added the rest at home on the computer with my scanner and paint program. Oooh aaah, ya wish ya were a Duckie!!! We had all sorts of chants... what a good time we had :D

Image: purpgren.jpg   396x341 37717 bytes 2001.05.21

I wanted to see just how badly i could make a picture look, lol. Nah, i just wanted to try inking with a colour similar to the one i was planning on colouring the whole thing in with. Too much shine or something on the body of the horse..the purple horse with a blue tattoo which i tried to make my initials, can you get LBW out of that? It was a unicorn once, but i forgot to ink the horn... Use it if you want, but remember that you are borrowing from me.

Image: grandmaW.jpg   653x354 35604 bytes 2001.05.07

I drew this a few months ago when my grandma Westrate died. They had poodles. Still had Molly when she died. My grandpa liked the pic, i think. She was a rather important person 'round here and a heck of a lot of people miss her. I love you Grandma!!

Image: kaydown.jpg   360x432 39441 bytes 2001.05.06

Runt is sad because... ummm... uh, there are dandelions in the grass and they are going to take over... sure, okay
