Saucer

Some poor little guy in his flying saucer speeding towards Earth.

I created this piece for the Further Confusion 2002 Con Badges. It's a school theme. This piece is done in ink and markers.

Calm, simple stylized design I did in Illustrator. It wasn't a lot of work but I think it's one of my favourite Illustrator drawings to date.

Puuuuuunk!

Heehee. I think I drew this because I gave my best friend Jon a mohawk that looked really cool but then that makes me the gay jaguar guy and that's weird since I'm neither. o_O Ohwell. I was experimenting with head shapes and I thought these guys looked particularly cartoony and funny.

Jon inked the sketch which is why it looks good and I did the sketch and some quickie coloring in photoshop. :)

Sleazy Couple

A sleazy couple makin' out under an underpass. Eeeeeww! Totally not what I normally draw but hey. Variety is the spice of life, neh?

Slug Girl

Um.. Ya... Soo.. It wasn't actually acid, it was shrooms but acid sounds better and my partner likes slug girls and transformations so... I tried to draw her a slug girl but found it darned hard to draw in that state. Tentacles kept sprouting out of everything. It's taken me forever to get around to coloring this. Every time I've gone back and looked at it, I've been like "Woah... Uh..."

If EVER there was a picture that screamed, 'PLEASE SKULL ME!!!!' this would be it! :)

I admit it. I'm diseased.

I had this idea and thought 'Gosh! I'm glad some corporate exec in the 80's didn't think of this.' The horror. The horror...

On the bright side, YOU don't have to live in my skull. :)

Le Chat Mechanique

Did a quick inking and colored pencil job on this for fun.

Weird little cat-thing I did in Illustrator in about 20 minutes. Not my greatest work but it feels kinda cool to just whip something out now and then. :)

I did this drawing as part of the furry art exchange. I got stuck with sorta the ultimate cliche' character. Angsty self-mutiliating droopy-eared canid of unusual color but ohwell. I tried to be sorta respectful and do a drawing that they'd like and wouldn't drive me totally insane instead of mocking them mercilessly. All in all, aside from the atrocious fur color I really sorta like it. I did it entirely in Illustrator using layers of simple gradients and rotate/copy for the snowflakes.

Some quiet study time.

I read a book on inking with technical pens titled, 'The Technical Pen'
by Gary Simmons. I think I really got a lot out of the book. Anyhow, a
friend is doing a project with a 'college' theme to it, so I did this
drawing as a submission. :)

Sudoku

Just fooling around in photoshop and forcing myself to do something that's higher contrast and uses a more complex palette than just complimentaries.

A slightly chunky skunky. Did this picture for a friend in exchange for their bringing me an animation stand that I bought off e-bay! Yay! Animation tools!

The image itself is very illustratory. I think I'm finally getting a handle on Illustrator basics.

For some friends of mine that really like Holly and the Joker. I don't usually do the Warner style so it was kinda fun and I thought it was worth uploading. More illustrator work. Some new approaches to doing things. Learning, slowly.

A centauress at the beach. This was a fun project. I took images from
magazines and photographs and composited them together to create a fantasy
scene, then I grided it up and drew the image at 18"x24" It's all rendered
in graphite but there's like 40 hours of work in it, so I didn't think it
fit exactly as a sketch.

The Stack

An experiment in limited color and subtle use of texture from a vector-based image.

My friend thinks I've been reading too many french comics from the 70s. :)

Trooba and Blorf

A weird little doodle in my sketchbook that I thought was cute, so I tried drawing it using colored line edges. I really like this one. :)

I was having touble drawing hands so I decided just to draw udders instead. Uncle Walt would be so proud! I'm happy with how loathesome this is. :)

Another of my new pieces (Also done in May, I didn't get to do any painting the past couple of months) Again done in acrylics. I think I'm reasonably happy with this piece. Again, the scan isn't quite as bright as the original but it's closer than the Feral Flynn piece. I did both of these paintings experimenting with a new painting process, which I think is working out pretty well for me. If anyone has any input, pointers, or suggestions, I'd love to hear it. Wizard Tree Protector

And as the dragon approached, the aged tree wizard cast out with the staff of a thousand hands and spread out to protect the tiny creatures.

... What do you get when you cross the Hamburgalar, a Tellitubby, a rabbit, and gollum...

ya... um... I dunno either, nor do I know what possessed me to draw/ink this thing but... hmmm.

Your Idiot Cousin

Not all psychedelics are created equal. Having imbibed something that was later labeled 'Swamp Water' or 'Stupid Juice', the psychonauts spent the next half dozen hours laying on the floor laughing and feeling far less intelligent than a freshman at a frat party. LSA, the idiot cousin. While the explorers might have sent a message of warning, instead, this is all that was recovered, scrawled on the side of a wall in crayon and ketchup.
