KittyBack.jpg

Used a pic of Sammy as a reference for this, but it didn't end up looking much like him. And yes - he really did twist his neck around that much! ;)

ChocoboStatue.jpg
Image: ChocoboStatue.jpg   490x447 16649 bytes 2003.09.13

A little chocobo statue made of a blend of Sculpey III and Granitex, tinted with a wash of yellow acrylic paint. It's quite cute. =)

WildDog.JPG

Yee-haw, after several days of tweaking, she's finally done! A lovely African wild dog, lounging seductively in a semi-transparent pink negligee! She's a polymer clay statuette, with details added in watercolor, acrylic paints, and a touch of varnish to give her eyes some sparkle. And yes, her negligee is clay, too!

Lots n' lots of different views!

A big pic! I hate squishing bugs, they're cool.

WolfGoddess.JPG
Image: WolfGoddess.JPG   573x562 73722 bytes 2003.08.13

My second-ever Furbid auction, a polyclay wolf-goddess sculpture! All proceeds go to my personal Feed the Artist and her Hungry Pets fund, although a new sketchbook might also be involved. ;)
Update 8/13/03: I'm thrilled to say that she sold early! <BOUNCE>
Update 8/23/03: Both my Wolf and Cat goddess-statues have sold! I'm now open for comissions, both in clay and on paper, though - if anyone else is interested in a Goddess, I'm willing to do whatever species you like best. Emal me at raische@hotmail.com for more info! =)

FelineTotem.JPG

A sculpey sculpture! This lovely female cat totem sold in my fist-ever Furbid auction! Yayy!

TheCloudHerder.jpg
Image: TheCloudHerder.jpg   728x490 63433 bytes 2003.08.13

I saw this guy in the clouds the other day, and developed a whole story for him. At the end of each day, the Cloud Herder gathers the souls of all the creatures who have died that day, and escorts them to the next world. The souls swirl into a giant spiral before dissapearing. I'd like to paint this, perhaps in watercolors...
I stare at the sky too much. ;)

FireAndLegolas.jpg
Image: FireAndLegolas.jpg   526x575 50533 bytes 2003.08.13

I've been running out of paper in my sketchbooks, and since I have no $$ to buy more, lots of pics are getting crammed onto each page. Hence, this pic - a bemused Fire grinning at an arrogant Legolas. Unfortunately, I canNOT do humanoid heads consistently, and Leggy's ended up looking more like Haldir...Oh, well...

Bearwoman.jpg
Image: Bearwoman.jpg   528x757 47792 bytes 2003.07.27

Round is good. Nothin' wrong with a little softness in a woman. Right? =)

JayaAndSuriyaColored.jpg
Image: JayaAndSuriyaColored.jpg   575x699 67737 bytes 2003.07.27

I finally colored them! Woodland Park Zoo's new tiger twins. Aren't they cuuute? =)

PennyColored.jpg
Image: PennyColored.jpg   461x711 54155 bytes 2003.07.26

My first try at doing a dapple grey! I'm not entirely sure I like the color of her clothes, though..Maybe I should've made them all the same color...

Coatimundi.jpg
Image: Coatimundi.jpg   540x677 90543 bytes 2003.07.26

It's an unnaturaly-pigmented coati! ...With a flute! I dunno, I just draw these things - I don't pretend to understand them. ;)

Pangolin.jpg
Image: Pangolin.jpg   341x432 21409 bytes 2003.07.23

A few-month-old pic I forgot to upload! I used a pic in David Attenborough's _The Life of Mammals_ as reference for this. =)

Egyptianycat.jpg
Image: Egyptianycat.jpg   256x760 39014 bytes 2003.07.23

Witness the horror when Firebringer becomes bored in her Egyptian history class!

Fireback_colored.jpg
Image: Fireback_colored.jpg   440x728 33074 bytes 2003.07.21

I really like this pic, but I've *got* to get some new watercolor pencils - the only red I have left ATM is far too purple for Fire!

RandomFemaleGargoyle.jpg
Image: RandomFemaleGargoyle.jpg   376x704 36349 bytes 2003.07.21

A cute gargoyle girl, born of the Random Gargoyle Generator!

Slinky_Kitty.jpg

Pen and charcoal pencils. I like her! =)

Purple_Bunny.jpg

Fun with acrylics! I think it's kinda cute! =)

Can'tDecide.JPG
Image: Can'tDecide.JPG   531x734 38244 bytes 2003.07.10

I just can't decide what she is! While idly doodling in class last quarter, her head appeared atop my Canadian history notes. I whipped out my sketchbook and gave her a body, but I still don't know what she is. If you have any ideas for a name or species, email me! =)

SnakePun.jpg

Get it? It's a uni-corn snake!

Forever_Fire.jpg
Image: Forever_Fire.jpg   414x653 35831 bytes 2003.06.08

Her outfit here is actually inspired by the original costume I designed for her in 4th grade or so.

Fashion.jpg
Image: Fashion.jpg   346x631 32617 bytes 2003.06.08

I drew the outfit first, and added the cat-lady later.

Flying_Drake.jpg
Image: Flying_Drake.jpg   877x632 62828 bytes 2003.06.08

Rather than just tracing pencil outlines with pen, I've been trying to learn how to really ink things, changing the thickness of the lines and such. I think it's helped in this pic - it lends a vague impression of action, like he's actually moving. =)

CerbeRat.jpg
Image: CerbeRat.jpg   581x455 55579 bytes 2003.06.08

Pretty scary, ain't it? Multiple layers of acrylic paints.

Baking_With_Friends_Color.jpg
Image: Baking_With_Friends_Color.jpg   690x551 84822 bytes 2003.06.08

It's such a silly picture, I didn't think I'd ever bother coloring it - but I still find the idea of Prozac in a frilly apron hilarious! I couldn't resist coloring such cuteness. ;)
