Cats of North America_ Cougar

The cougar goes by many names - Puma, Catamount, and Mountain Lion to name a few. This beautiful, graceful cat is the largest feline native to the United States.

Kalak - Maned wolf pendant

The kalak, or maned wolf, isn't actually a wolf- it's not closely related to any currently living canines at all! Though it is sometimes called a 'fox on stilts', it is not a fox either.
This was a custom designed pendant where the commissioner requested some coloration on the glyph image. I think it turned out really fantastically in person!

This pendant was a commission for Canislupusfrax, who was a wonderful commissioner to work with!

Two Fawns Tagua

A custom tagua commission of two fawns. Shown many times actual size - true dimensions are about 1 3/4" x 1 1/2". This is an example of tagua that will be mounted and framed as opposed to being made into a pendant/necklace.

I love deer, they are so cute. :)

Custom Cheetah Tagua Pendant

This was a custom pendant commission for a cheetah glyph - representing forward motion.
I love it when cheetahs begin a run - they hunch down and accelerate, so much raw, unstoppable power waiting to explode. They are such beautiful, amazing cats!

Winter Badger Mug

A mug commissioned by Vulnavia of a pair of ear-tufted badgers in a wintery scene. The mug itself is quite large, about 5″ wide and 4″ tall. More like a soup bowl!

Detail shot of a custom painted mug for Vulnavia who is a wonderful commissioner to work with! -Two fantasy badgers cuddling together against the cold, wrapping around a big coffee cup (it is big enough to be a soup bowl!) - with a few little critters hidden along the sides.

Carved Aurochs Pendant

A commissioned custom pendant of a bull - in this case an Aurochs (the extinct, giant ancestor of modern cattle). I wanted to do a tribute to the old style cave paintings and capture the ancient, wild power of this incredible creature.

Purple Dragonfly Pendant

This was a custom glyph commission, taken a step further - the purple 'heart' in the center is actually a small piece of paua shell that I carved and inset.
This scan is actually many times the actual size of the piece - actual size being about 1 3/4" x 1 1/2"

Lion Tagua Pendant

Here is a custom designed glyph - finally, a male lion! I've had this guy in my head for awhile, it was really good to finally let him out. The actual pendant is much smaller than this image - about 1 3/4" diameter.

Carved Wild Boar Pendant

I designed this pendant for myself, inspired by the old celtic and greek designs for wild boars. I feel strongly connected to boar, and I've been meaning to do this for awhile. And to try out my new 3/32" dremel bit. :)

A collaborative tribute to the Pokemon dynasty - I drew this little guy and my husband, Mbala, colored him. It’s a binturong posing as an ivysaur.
It just sounded better than bulbaturong. ;)

Bohemian Bearcat Brew

As a gift for our two year wedding anniversary, I decided to try my hand at brewing. I made my husband homemade root beer, and it actually worked! It was quite an adventure (I've never done anything remotely like that before) and I was so pleased it actually turned out well. Carbonated and not exploded!
I also made this label for him. The original itself is painted in acrylics and india ink. The text on the bottom of the label is a bit of a joke - it's my attempt at translating 'root beer' into Czech.
Rampant binturongs make me happy inside. :)

Normally I wouldn't upload things like this - it's just a rough sketch and I tend to make stacks of these that just pile up around my desk and never see the light of day. But I figured I'd put this one up, anyways!
When I'm in a weird mood and want to draw but don't really want to work on anything in particular, I just let my pencil wander. This pig man has been stuck in my head for awhile, so he's what came out. With a lack of creativity, I decided to name him Orson. I love wild boars, but will admit pigs freak me out quite a bit. I think it's because they're too human.
