Another bird, this one a seabird called the Antarctic Shag. Birds are really easy! Gotta make myself work on that Arctic Fox now. Mammals are not so easy.

antlers.jpg
Image: antlers.jpg   381x700 47564 bytes 2003.01.12

One of my "demons," usually part-animal creatures, but not inherently evil. This one's showing off her new shiny thing.
I have this love-hate relationship with feathers: I love the way they look and I love drawing them and I hate painting them. Also, I don't know how she wound up being Illini colors. I was trying for green and yellow, but the lil thing wouldn't cooperate.

Caracal plays chess with Ethiopian wolf. A quick 5x7 watercolor and ink, on bristol plate.

Yup, cows playing poker. Done for work, actually, a comission for a bar called the Sit 'n Bull *wince* I redid their logo from an old piece of art in not terribly good condition.

Death is a coyote with long thin hands.

One of my more fishy-type merpeople. I dont' know what the big glowy orb he's guarding is.

An anthro goldfinch in mostly watercolor. He has nothing to do with the other work I'm doing, but he was fun and largely nonstressful. One doesn't see too many small birds in anthro art, which is a shame, methinks, because they're loads of fun to do. Sadly, I couldn't figure out how to do the black barring on his wings.

Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio; a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy.

Three Faded Spots knew he had it right this time - the tribe would never laugh at him again when he brought home his very own zebra.

Trying to teach myself to draw digitally, work on those shadows etc. Result: one funky looking jackal.

Ring-tailed lemur, painter 7

leosm.jpg
Image: leosm.jpg   500x329 60591 bytes 2003.01.12

A leogrgyph: the reverse of a gryphon, with a cat's head and forepaws and avian wings and hindclaws. This one's a cougar/hawk mix, with totally unrelated coloring. All done in very cheap watercolors.

loungelizards.jpg
Image: loungelizards.jpg   648x432 75396 bytes 2005.09.25

Despite early popularity, the Lounge Lizards were eventually forced to disband, partially over creative difficulties, but mostly because Floyd could not be convinced to stop eating the audiences.

From largest to smallest, the monitors are: a Australian Ridge-tailed Monitor (Ackie), a Savannah Monitor, a Rough-Neck Monitor, and a Water Monitor. The Komodo Dragon was unavailable for comment.
Watercolor on cold press, 9x6 or so. Original and prints available.

ocelot.jpg
Image: ocelot.jpg   700x605 73432 bytes 2003.01.12

My anthro ocelot pinup, done in Painter 5. I'm fond of this picture, except for the fact that her neck looks really stiff. There doesn't seem to be much I can do at this stage, and it looked a lot more fluid during the sketching and painting, so I guess all my pretty spots are wasted.

The most important preparation for deermice everywhere is the celebratory Springtime painting of the iguana.

possumking.jpg

"Those who look for wisdom sometimes seek out he who is lord of the opossums, for he is the oldest king of the beasts of the wood. They are oft sorely disappointed, for what secrets of old he once knew, he has forgotten."

psychokitty2.jpg
Image: psychokitty2.jpg   429x713 70254 bytes 2003.01.12

Enter one Psychokitty, Kitty for short, the ill-conceived Childe of a City Gangrel who soon thought better of his actions and left the product of them behind as fast as he could run.

She's not so bad, for a blood drinking monster that thinks it's a cat. There is no struggle against the Beast here, more a struggle towards it.

And, of course, the delight of leaving a fresh mouse in the Prince's shoe.

Pencil, photoshop tinted, summer 2000.

She considered at length - the emissary of the tunnel-hiding people had come a long way to bring her tribute. It would probably be rude to eat him.

ratlady.jpg
Image: ratlady.jpg   525x700 40172 bytes 2003.02.03

The Lady of Rats:She's kindof the spiritual caretaker of ratlings, I suppose. Experimenting with Maxfield Parrish style lighting, which I am finding very difficult. Doesn't hold a candle to Socar Myles' lady in big dress with rats picture, but I am awfully proud of the sheer cuteness of some of the little fellows. I debated adding a hairless rat, but decided that the snow was enough of a deterrent. The one on her shoulder is a likeness of my little Azhrarn, who sadly died of pneumonia while I was working on this.

rattie.jpg
Image: rattie.jpg   432x480 49372 bytes 2003.02.28

Just a ratlady. I haven't done too much art that's really furry. A little practice.
