Uranophobia

The lineart for this was accepted to the October issue of CG magazine! Click More-Info for the website.

Uranophobia means "fear of Heaven." Based on the concept that sometimes space and the universe outside earth are referred to as "the heavens." Much is unknown in the universe - there may be much to fear.... Like aliens that want to eat your face.

Faerie Hugs - Owl

An owl in the series. I guess it's officially a series now that there's three of them :P

I actually went long on this: Did the lineart fairly quickly, rushed parts of it and totally stopped working on it after ink for like... a couple of months??? When I came back to color I was like "uh oh... kind of wonky!" and didn't feel too good about it, but as I went, I really liked coloring it, and I think the color makes up for some of the sloppiness of other parts. :D

Any Morning

An experiment with mixing media - mostly experimenting with wet and dry stuff, and using glaze like fixative and glue.

Done for the EMG-Zine Selkie issue this month.

She seems to have found a nice dragon. :O

I've been pretty busy lately, haven't finished anything for a while, so here's something I finished at the beginning of the month.

I was recently inspired by the cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carrol. I wanted to portray a cheshire cat that truly looks otherworldly. The hairless sphynx are known for having an "alien sort" of look.

So... Can you stand on your head?

Originally finished in 2008, but it was rejected from Epilogue. Made some changes to it with gouache to make some things better (lighting, etc) and now it's in. :)

I saw these little shell buttons in a craft store, went "How can I stick these in a drawing?" and this popped out.

It's pretty small. Pen, prismacolor marker and shell buttons.
