10 Years of HollyAnn

2007 marks the 10th year "aniversary" of me drawing furry art. It also means that my persona/alter-ego, HollyAnn, is 10 years old this year too (well, as of August 2007, but who's counting?)

I thought it would be interesting to get the first drawing I've ever done of HollyAnn, and re-draw it as I would today, and place them side-by-side, just to see how different she looks now, as well as how much I've improved over the years. I still need to get better at my anatomy, but I still think I've come a long in these last 10 years.

So, here's to another 10 years ;)

This is the HollyAnn Beanie I designed for the YNA Beanie Game :) Isn't it cute? =D As you can see, my purple marker hates me >.<

This is a special drawing I made up so that I can make my own AnthroCon T-shirt...I even Emailed them to see if it was alright, and they said it was fine, as long as I don't sell it =D So, if you see any AnthroCon T-shirts with this disign on it, and it's not being worn by me, it's not an official HollyAnn AnthroCon T-shirt ;) It's also being offered on my Cafepress.com online store (www.cafepress.com/hollyann) HollyAnn is (c) to me!

My entry for Frisket's Cake Portfolio :) I originally drew it on regular paper, but made a copy of it, and used the copy of the line art to trace it onto watercolour paper, where I inked it on there and then watercoloured it :) Yay pastels! :)

Anyone who knows me, knows that I just LOVE plushies!!! I thought that I'd make a doll of Holly, and it turned out pretty cute :) (c) to me.

I like playing a game called Princess Maker 2, and there's a VERY pretty dress in it, and I just had to draw Holly wearing it :) I've only changed the colour of the skirt part to blue, cuz I like blue ;)

Not too many people know these days, that Holly's a magic user. That crystal stone embedded into her skull is the source of all her powers (the story of how she got the stone can be located at www.ki-tera.com/hollyann/history.htm). Sometime though, of course, she can be a bit of a clutz, as we see here, she's accidently turned herself into a foxtaur! This drawing was actually done on Bristol Board (Yay! I'm moving up in the world!) This was also the first drawing of Holly in a long time that I've coloured her shirt in the pastel tye-dye fashion, and have even drawn in the crystal on her forehead (it's hidden by fur most of the time anyways). This is my first attempt at animation, showing HollyAnn..Um...Jumping =D I actually got the idea of doing this when I heard an "Oompa" song, and imagined Holly dancing to it :) (c) to me

Silverfox hurt her neck and she hasn't been able to draw comics :( So I drew up this quick comic so she can place it on her comic, along with some other Guest artists :) Silverfox and Savrin are (c) Angela Beaman...HollyAnn and Pantera Atra-u are (c) Lisa Cotton (Medaglia) (me!) ;)

While at the Dead Dog Party at C-ACE, I drew this up in my sketchbook :) It's HollyAnn, dressed up in the typical SCA garb that I usually dress up in. Personally, I think I did a good of it :)

For those of you who remember the Golden Wings drawing, this is the very rough sketch of it, without the wings, of course. I originally meant this one to remain rough, to show people how complicating my drawings can be while I'm still working on them ;) HollyAnn (c) to me

This one of the first drawings of HollyAnn, when a Furcadian friend was looking for different artists to make a swimsuit edition of a calendar. This was my first submission, altho, I don't know if the calendar was ever completed. HollyAnn (c) to me

This is the "foxtaur" version of the HollyAnn Beanie...you can just see the confused look on her face from being turned into taur...again! XD Again, the purple was PhotoShopped because my purple marker hates me >.<

I had been wanting to draw a more recent picture of HollyAnn and Trinsic (my husband and I), because it's been forever since the last time I did so O.o I think this one turned out pretty good :)

My sign that I've made up for Anthrocon, which will be hung on our door at the hotel :) It will have a little pocket on the bottom in which people can leave us messages and such :)

And...I do believe this might be the first drawing I've done of Holly in which she's wearing glasses! O.o

What happens, when you pair up a couple of lonely foxes, who met on Furcadia, and corresponded and met IRL for a total of two years? They get married of course! This drawing was to celebrate the marriage of Trinsic and HollyAnn, IRL..Yes, you heard right, we met on Furc, and really got married =D I love you Trinny, for now, and now forever, for the rest of my life :) HollyAnn (c) to me, Trinsic (c) his player (and now my husband) ;)

I absolutly LOVE taurs! I think they're a neat concept and sometimes I like it when people even mix and match the upper torso to the animal body :) This one is just a regular horse taur, an adolesent who's holding a bow and arrow for the first time, looking around as if it be saying to his instructer "Am I holding this right?" This was also an experiment I was doing..Instead of inking the picture, I just kept it in pencil and coloured it :) (c) to me :)

I drew this for my friends Hosea Kittomer and Maggock (Maggie) cuz they remind me so much of Trinny and I before we were married :) I'm really glad they like it :) Coloured with Prisma markers and shaded with Prisma pencil crayons and blended with the blending marker all on bristol board :)

My half of an art trade with Huskie :) I've always loved her winged unicorn, Arcoiris, so I thought I would draw a picture of them together in the pic :) Hope you like it, Huskie! &#9829;

This is a second drawing of Ian, since he's changed so much since my last drawing of him. Now he's completely all white (an artic fox), and he's also a free spirit, which means he doesn't wear any clothes...But don't worry, you won't see anything here ;)

Ian Rain is a very good Furry Artist friend of mine, and I met him thru Furcadia (www.furnation.com/Ian_R_Soulfox). I drew this picture of him, since he drew an AWESOME pic of HollyAnn :) And I gave him the original as a B-day present :) (c) his player

A drawing for Illahie! (aka Graywolf) :) I drew her a bookmarker a while back, and thought it would be cool to make a "matching drawing" with it too ;) I do believe that the clouds in this drawing are possibly the best I've ever done O.o The sky was done with a Charpack blue marker (which has a VERY stong scent and made me see flying cows by the time I finished colouring it!) LOL! The base colour for the vine is also marker, but done with Prismacolour brand...the rest is all pencil crayon :)

Ever wanted to see HollyAnn mad? Here's your chance ;) This was inspired from a fellow furry artist who had this happen to her, and I've had my fair share of this kind of thing all the time. People must think that whenever they're getting a free drawing, that we're all just sitting around, waiting for that request to be submitted to us. Truth is, we're regular people, and we do other things in life, and we don't just sit around waiting for a request to come in. People who really want their picture this badly can seriously anger and frustrate artists, and make them pretty irritated...It can even turn the most fun-loving furry evil...which you can plainly see in tihs picture :) Folks, please be patient when expecting free art...You don't want an angry vixen jumping down your neck and ripping the fur from your chest.
