552x775 64598 bytes 2001.06.17
Arandre is a wolf/dragon, here in his morphic form. I really really like the way he turned out. One of my few characters who *isn't* cute and fuzzy. (well, he can be...)

718x557 46170 bytes 2001.06.17
Here's Arandre the dragon wolf in his typically nonmorphic form.

569x710 90283 bytes 2001.07.13
Arandre, waiting in the rain for his bus. The urban side of my life reaching my furries? I suppose even a wolf/dragon has to have a day job. Any guesses as to what that might be?

Some con badges I did for FC: mine and Ch'marr's. Yes, I do con badges! I *like* doing con badges! (demented yipping.)

I'm working more in finished pencils for my black and whites these days because I'm becoming frustrated by my inking jobs. I liked the way these two came out, and it's the most detailed background I've done for a little while.

My red Siberian husky-taur charater, Blaize, enjoying what is for her an unusually mellow activity.

cute li'l acrylic piece, Jackel and Ferret.
| Image: canids-ewolf.jpeg
591x465 30377 bytes 2001.08.28
This is one in a series I'm doing, attempting to get an image of all of the larger canines (and after I'm done, if I get ambitious, I might tackle the foxes too. ;) This is one of my favorites so far. Ethiopian wolves/siamean jackals are a very beautiful canid that is unfortunately on the brink of extinction. There are none, to my knowledge, being bred in captivity. :P

636x511 39052 bytes 2001.09.06
The mesomelas in my canids series. Jackel apparently wants to be a type specimen; here she is looking coy.

713x523 59840 bytes 2001.11.14
the Lycaeon pictus in my canids series.

A colorful cape dog gal! Me testing out my new prismacolor markers, in Rl the colors on this piece are quite blended and look smooth; they look dreadful in the scan. Still, this was fun. Cape dogs are cool.
| Image: Carmine.jpeg
454x562 57558 bytes 2001.09.11
A red wolf, not in the sense of canis rufus, but as in fire-engine, is miss Carmine.
| Image: carmineposes.jpeg
465x761 47380 bytes 2001.10.30
I seem to be drawing a lot of Carmine. My brother's confused comment upon leafing through my sketchbook was classic---"in one picture she's an anthro and in the other she's not, what gives?" or something like that. All of my characters, apparently, lead double lives. Cute little red wolfie.

497x701 51986 bytes 2001.06.15
A lupine knight takes leave of his aurean (jackal) lady, possibly never to return. Medieval crusader chivalric angst!!! And more shaded-pencils work from me.

done for my mate's birthday, here we are in our nonmorphic forms as Jackel and a black-footed ferret.
| Image: CloudedNatalya.JPEG
592x818 100145 bytes 2001.07.13
I'm really pleased with this one, a portrait of Clouded Natalya, a new char of mine. She is an ambassidor, scholar and martial artist....also a clouded leopard whose body and patterns I have tried to keep fairly relaistic; her fangs, for instance, portrude because clouded leopards have the largest relative fang size of any cat. She's also fairly short-coupled because clouded meows are. A bit of a challenge to keep her on-pattern; I'm working on more images of her and keeping the spots ight is a challenge.

497x557 57341 bytes 2001.06.04
A dragon, his coyote and his jackal. I did a couple of fairly intense sketchbook pieces at a recent con involving a jackal and a dragon; here's something sweeter. ;) is cute, no?

Still more attempts at watercolor. She was inked with a brush, then colored with the paint. I like the figure, but absolutely hate the background..bleagh...I liked the thing before I added that obnoxious blurry thing. I suppose I should chalk it up to the learning curve; some other people have liked it.

660x512 115248 bytes 2001.12.12
here's Jackel with Melissa O'Brien's (c) character, 'Ris, both as nonmorphic jackals. She's got her favorite Gambit plushie, I have...a turkey feather! whee! (see her pic of Jackel to get the reference ;)
| Image: griff.jpeg
574x771 110571 bytes 2001.10.09
A griffin guy! | |
| Image: halloween.jpeg
526x722 58332 bytes 2001.10.31
Pretty self-explanatory, neh? Nonmorph Jackel in what is actually my renfaire 'costume'. The ferret is my mate Chris, who is a 5th grade teacher and not crazy about my favorite holiday as his students are always crazy during and after. ;)

468x684 36640 bytes 2001.10.30
And here's miss Carmine, dancing in a poor excuse for clothing.
| Image: hug.jpeg
650x463 103560 bytes 2002.01.29
Awwwww. Affectionate 'taurs.
| Image: huntress-2.JPEG

A cheetah huntress, done in pencils.
| Image: huntresses.jpeg
442x597 126223 bytes 2002.01.29
A cheetah and a jackal lady, getting ready to go for a hunt.
| Image: hyena.jpeg
502x684 26983 bytes 2001.09.11
A spotted hyena morph, the first I've tried to do and liked, actually.

504x684 157077 bytes 2001.04.17
I'm a fiddle player and like to depict the subject. Fiddle players are hard to get accurately, though; this is the second draft of this drawing, and his hand position is still not accurate.
| Image: jackalbonnet.jpeg
494x787 48421 bytes 2002.03.12
A cute, spring-y jackaless in a floral bonnet, and you can see that Summer is playing with her new prisma markers.
