I was driving home from school in San Francisco and was stopped at a red light when a serious young man crossed before me. He was dark-clad, scruffy, and laden down with a very nice guitar case, some drums, and a large backpack. Cradled close to his ches was a teeny tiny blue heeler puppy which peered out at the world with the seriousness of its breed. This was *seriously* adorable and I knew I had to make the scene into a drawing.

For this month's edition of the LJ Hybrid Exchange, here's Rahsyk, a nifty canine/feline hellhound. The pose was taken from a photo of my malamute running on the beach; I had Rahsyk running through dry grass and possibly landing from flight.

Watercolor/mixed media painting of Sekhmet. In sketches because it barely fit on my scanner, so is cropped in ways I don't like (I need to photograph it to get the edges where I want them) and because I may not be done with it yet.

My latest commission. I really like the way this came out, although the paper I drew it on was too big to entirely fit on the scanner. I really like doing these little frescoed backgrounds; people seem to like them (the buyer of this piece requested one) and they can be used to tell a story about the subject.

These Scraps of a Life; Work collage 1. I generate a huge number of little tiny sketches while I'm at work; this is something like a week's worth. This is what happened when I decided not to throw them out when whatever scrap I wrote them on becomes useless. It is, to date, the only collage I've ever done, and I'm rather startled by how much I like it. It's a dismayingly accurate look into the inside of my skull.
