Trumpets, please Trumpets.
First of all, of course there is not such a film called "Nine Millimmetters" directed by Ridley Scott, but I have the screenplay for "Nine Millimetters" around here or somewhere. I think it's the kind of title you can see on Ridley's website.
The final page, the green credits were added at the very end, to explain what happened to the responsibles for the airplane crash.

Tlaking heads again, but I ahd to close some doors on the plot and fill some other holes. The background goes form bright blue to black blue, almost full black. Just to show that the characters are sinking into a destructive era in their lives.

The red,orange,yellow thing on the plane is fire. Yes, is fire I am not kidding :P I airbrushed that part in yellow, orange, red and some pink and then applied a "glass" effect to that layer. The result is what you see. I don't know you but I like that fire-like effect.

Ouch! Bad landing. I bet they used low cost airflight companies to make this trip. James and Helen land on the ground with a heavy bump as they check they broke no bones or important parts of their bodies.
Approaching to the end. Time to star giving thanks to everyone involved.

This is a James Cameron page. I explain. I love the moment when, in T2, the truck of the T1000 crashes, you see the gasoline, then the spark and huge explosion. I like how he showed the way the explosion happens, instead of just showing the explosion.
So here I showed the fuel from the wing leaking and then the explosion, and to end up a pan shot of the airport with the explosion in the middle of it. Saw any famous building in the skyline of the city?

Now everybody says "what's pov?" I saw Point of view. This is what Helen saw when the airplanes were crashing, while flying away from there.

I saw this in a movie. Not nin real life, I think is not so fancy in real life. When you stay behind an airplane when landing, the jet form the engines takes you away from the ground, and makes you fly. This way they "run" away from the accident.

This is the last page colored of the comic. Is weird how things work. Is not the last page, but it was the last I colored. Actually, the last thing I colore din the comic book is Helen's green vest.

Can be considered this my way to show James' way to pass the five basic states to accept a dissaster or bad news. I know four of them, so if somebody can send them to me I will be pleased. I know some are: Fear, negation, Anger, Acceptance, and I just miss the last one.

I was trying to make a cool super-hero effect with lots of layers and many colours, and sparks, and visual effects, and all that stuff. *SIGHS* Well, I was giving the first layer, this bright blue over the blue sky, with a "iluminate" kind of layer. And this was the result. I liked it so much I decided not to give more layers.

So this is the Xmen kind of page. The one before was the Unbreakable one, this is the Xmen one. Not Xmen the comic, Xmen the movie. The way they are colored at the bottom of the page was an accident, but I let it that way to make them look blurry because of the effect of the ray.

This page, and the next one, are my "Unbreakable" pages. I am tlaking about the movie, not about the adjective. I think that's the best super hero movie ever made, despite Xmen and Spiderman, and I love Spiderman. I wanted to show the weakness and humanity of this unhuman characters. Just to check out how Helen doubts of her powers.

Firemen coming, clock counting down, is going to finish, or is this going to end up well and positively? To know the answer keep reading :D or wait for the final page, I would do that.

There is, big shot of the airport runway and the airplane fo the spanish company trying to ge tout of it. I think I choose the wrong month to upload a comic book with airplane crashes. But this takes place in Spain and in a future in the year 2054, so I think it's ok.

The last panel is the one that buys the page. The rest are close ups of the mouths and the eyes. I found myself doing this page and realized about how much Hellboy influenced me. Mike Mignola is my fav comic writter and artist, and I think this page drinks from Hellboy's look a lot.

So there we have James, with his coffee and the radio. Not a very futuristic radio for year 2054, but what if the design wasnt accurate enough? It could have looked like a razzor. The airplane there is from a spanish company, that's why it has the panish flag dranw in the wing.

More blue treatment. Watch the digital clock and imagine you are watching "24" for one moment. You will get the idea of the rythm of the following pages very well. The firt panel took me blood and sweat. Because I like to use them to ink my art :P no no no, is just is a pain to draw so many characters in a so little panel.

The first panel was the first panel I did for the comic book. I wanted to create the effect of a surveillance camera vision, this is green with interferences. So I just colored it green and applied to it a texture layer. Problem solved.
And in our cameo list, here we have my domestic cat, Deimos, performing the commander in chief of the airport. Is a cat but it looks like a f***ing rabbit.

Here comes the blu treatment. The blue treatment is something used in film making. It basically sucks the colour of the faces of the actors, and leaves them palid like ghosts. Examples of this blue treatment can be seen in practice in both Spielberg/Cruise movies, Minority report and War of the worlds.
Here I just took the blue treatment to the literal extreme. Everything is blueish. Check out the surveillance camera.

Ok. Here is the polemic word. Can I put Bastard in a comic rated PG? The answer is, of course. Even in The Simpsons they say so. Also I decided to put it when I first saw the movie "Twister" in the Disney Channel, with all the swearing removed. Needless to say that they ruined the movie that way :P Swearing can be very funny sometimes.

Silent page, no dialogue. I am happy to make them, you don't cover the entire drawing with balloons of text. The space ship is a direct direct direct influence from Final Fantasy VIII, the videogame. I am sure players of that game recognized it. I like the game so much I couldnt resist make my own aero-spaceship form the Athena Group.

I am not sure of the exact distance between Madrid and Barcelona, but 640 Kilometters look good for me, and also a respectful distance to make them in seven hours, taking into account the fact that they have to prepare the emergency teams for the crash landing.

Not an easy job.

Using photos I made in a trip to Barcelona, including one a friend of mine gave me of the "El Prat" airport like two years ago. Using real photos in a comic book is challenging, because obviously, the photos look better than the drawings I made. So I understand why people say nothing about this page, it's because they look to the photos.

Using a graphic tablet to analize data of an upcoming airplane crash is not reliable. But is the kind of silly thing I think about when I put myself in front of white paper with a mech pencil.

Also gave me the chance to make some PC graphics which ar enot very fancy. Direct influence from the transparent walls of Minority Report and the holograms of Final Fantasy.

I actually had to re-size and re-compress this page. I don't know why :P

Here we see the doomed ending of that airplane. Nowadays in the news I see a lot of airplane accidents and crashes. I wonder if it's my fault...Well, once I saw a flash player that said that furries caused airplane crashes. It was a joke flash of course.

What happened here? I don't know. Sometimes I don't know what am I doing with the levels of the photoshop and I make this accident. I didn't tried to correct it because the predictions must be misterious and dark. Althought this looks more dark than misterious. If is not noticeable, the first pannel depicts some firemen, and the rest the point of view of the airplane about to crash. The white stripes are the lines of the landing runway.

Here is am homage, if I can call that. Martin's pc has a little silouete on it's side, that resembles the bull os "Osborne". This bull is the only publicity we can have in our natural environments in Spain, because is the representation of the countries culture. How funny, no?
Again, more and more effects for the visions.

Ok. Now we go with the "prediction effect". To make this images look blurry and out of focus was a blast, I enjoyed a lot because I used all the visual effects that photoshop allows you to do. Blurry, glass, sea waves, interferences, noise, textures...It was fun to do.

Just read "DVD" in that little panel makes me laugh. I don't know what technollogy we will have in the 2054, but I like to think in retro-futurism if that's a valid adjective. This kind of pages made to explain the action and make the plot go on make me get lazy at finish them.

But it's needful for the comic book.

Thsi page is blurry and foggy because it's how Helen's vision is. After suffering the neckdriller her eyes are out of focus, so now she has to wait a couple of panels to get better and recover her usual vision.
