I going through colorings. This red I like it, I will spread it all over the comic. Not when blood comes, because this is a PG comic, so blood appears black, but for lights, alerts, banners and credits.

Introduction page. Stating from line number one that I hate Meteor movies. Armaggedon is awesome because the characters are great, but Deep impact is a piece of crap, to be perfectly honest. Everytime I see a meteor movie and the earth get's saved I just burst into laughs. Is so impossible that is not believable. If a meteor comes to the earth, we must be saying goodbye.
So this takes place in a post apocaliptic future. No mutations for the furries, they were furries before the meteor crash, but yes mutation for the monsters.

First page, introducing three characters. John, Victoria and the section 24. What I used here is what I am calling (just in a funny way) Contrast Vision. Is actually a very "Sin city" like way of making a comic, black and white and with contrasts. My firts comic experience was not very good, coloring and things like that, so I stick to the regular way of making a comic. Black and white.

Of course the title is based on "Assault on precint 13", which is for me one of the best action-thriller movies of all time. John Carpenter did a great work in that movie.

The letters are "Impact" model, in size 80 and colored red, to give a kind of old movie feeling. I remember the old movies (from the fifties to the seventies I mean) having this titles at the beggining.

Of course this is supposed to be Washington, but I have no idea how Washington looks like, so I just drew a couple of buildings. I apologize from here to everyone who lives in Washington, I am sorry.

In panel number 3, John talks about "House MD". John is a guy who loves the series that are new and cool, and so on. He first was an X Files fan, then he was a 24 fan, and now he is fan of House MD. All of them tv series produced by FOX. Because we all know best TV series are in FOX tv (Simpsons, Family guy, Lost, Prison break, etc...)

My characters do film refferences to express their feelings. They all do, some of them different refferences or in different ways. In one globe she speaks about Jarhead (great movie) and about her DS which is running out of battery.

At the bottom she remembers her first years in the NY police, beign like the cop who enters in the crime scene before the CSI team enters. So she had seen lots of shocking stuff.

As you see, there is the blood and it appears black. It will stick to black. John had seen something, what a sight he has, and they both go the edge of the section to see what is.

Is the section 24 where they are now, if you didnt noticed.

Maybe House's best quote is said by John in panel number 5. Is from episode "Euphoria, 2nd part", and it's said at the beggining of the chapter. "I think you should call Jack Bauer", is the quote.

John is the one who actually starts the assault. Why? More in the next pages. Just to see, it starts with violence, the monsters is finished by Victoria's Thompson and falls death.

The first five pannels ar ein sequence. They show the car door open, the key twisting in the contact, entering a speed rate, then the tire rolling. Sorry if it looked cryptical.

The last pannel was a hard decission. Wether to make a map showing them going away from the section or showing the monster army approaching. Took second decission and looks much better.

Pannel five. Jarhead word mentioned, no doubt influence by the movie of the same name. I wonder what it means in spanish.

What James says in the last pannel is a spanish insult which translated means the same as in english in the comic, and it's normally used to reffer to the mother of the insulted person, not even using the words b**** or w****.

Wow! Look at that circular thing in the middle of the page! Isn't it great!? It meant to represent the wall that sorrounds the city, pretty cryptical again. *sighs*. There we see Suikun in the last pannel using this very old fashioned touchable screens XD This page has nothing else to offer atcually.

Lots and lots and lots of dialogue in this page, Suikun explaining the situation, not many art more than letters. Here is where my influence of Fanhunter appears. Fanhunter is a greta spanish comic I recomend everyone read.

Ok, read from left to right please.
If this has comic format this page should be two pages. Splash page I think it's called, I am not sure. It shows a transversal view of the battle, Martin and Suikun talking up the page while in the battlefield all hell breaks lose. Not the desired amount of monsters, but I have limited media. :D

Not "colored" traditionally. All the black was added via photoshop, if ther eis any difference, please tell me. The monsters, little monsters that appear in pannel number four, are called Magma Monsters. Monsters made out of lava that explode. Yeah, Final Fantasy made such a huge impact in my life.

Trying to make a fuzzy vision effect in the first pannels, while Martin delivers the first swearing word in the comic. I think.
The final line of James, reffering to the shoting of Jaws, everyone who loves movies will know that Spielberg had a thought time trying to shot that movie.

Ok, second "Splash" page, where the focus of it goes to the dragon-like creature in the middle. As I said is not the quite proportion of monsters I wanted, but limited media again. It supossed to be that we have more advantage on fire power than a few monsters with only claws and teeth, but they are determined to rip them off.

Bottom right, James and Martin hide behind a crashed car.

Pannel four, where James explains the battle strategy is basically influenced by my many hours playing Advance wars DS.

For the line in last panell, where James mentions "Tom Cruise" as a help for them in the battle, is a line influenced by the great Will Ferrell in "Talladega nights". If you saw the movie you will know which line I am reffering to.

I said silver, but it looks black. That's because of the CV mode, it turns silver into black, but don't worry. All the movies and comics mentioned here are there because I love them and admire them. Such awarded and admired pieces of culture deserve a spot here too :) even if it's just a little place.

Ok, the top of the page are supossed to be a huge group of dragons flying to the battle field. I had no idea how to do it quickly and without taking too much effort on it, is just a low budget comic.

In panel 4 James sounds more like Gregory House than like James: "You will do nothing", quote from House from chapter season one Control. Homage, rgeular sentence, never thought I had House in mind after I read it carefully.

This is my action packed escene, James takes one side and Martin takes another. Now without John and Vicky on the battle, it will became more diffult.

Martin, in last pannel, listens the yell of someone. Or something. The revelation in next big splash page.

Page 19

To continue with the story, I have three new pages to offer you. This one shows what Martin saw on his side, yeling for help. I bet there is something between this guy and helpess dragons. Here you see six Magma Monsters eating the poor guy. In the original idea they were throwing lava spits to him, but I never figured how to make it look good.
To this so full of text page will follow a not so full of text page.

Page 020

The contrast vision works much better ths way. The letters of the sound effects are much better appreciated and I feel the action a lot much than in other comic pages. The fourth panel was not supposed to be the gun. But now I feel the motion of the scene.
PTOM, always wanted to use that sound effect since I heard it in Minority Report. Yes is blood what spurts from the head of the Magma Monsters, but is black, I wanted to keep i contrasted and PG :D

Page 021

Sooooo much text! I hate doing large texts but I wanted to pay tribute to the awesome spanish comic Fanhunter. There is so much text and barely no drawings, but the drawings are awesome. Which is what I don't have.
Here we see that James doesn't make much important effect on Martin, which means he has not a crap of authority over him.

Save the dragons

Martin is saving the life of a badly injured dragon, and he ducks behind a derelicted car, next to the edge of section 24 while the monsters enter in the city.
That was the description in the screenplay of the comic, I never knew it could enter all in one page. Martin here goes like a hero, while he is not, he is just a regular guy in an outstanding situation of peril.
The dragon will soon be revealed as Hazzard.

Anger is Jamesy

Here I used the shadows to portray James as a not veyr likeable character. When he gets angry he can be loathable. Here he goes mad at Victoria for not taking his orders without refuse or ironic responses.
The final line of the page came out by itself. Victoria behaves like a hooker sometimes (just watch her drawing section and you will see) so this line "Five men well armed" was compulsory.

Stay awake!

Martin talks to the dragon Hazzard, who thinks he died and it's in hell. He says he wants to go back but Martin doubts he will ever fly again. Martin tells him that if he sleeps he dies, so better stay awake.

That's the screenplay explanation. It's so easy and so fun to make the bite injuries in the flesh of the dragon, that I started and didnt stopped until all his body was covered, or partially covered. The placement of the sound effects here is decissive, I was trying to mock up the dolby sorround, the smaller the letters are, the farther will feel the sound effect.

Ha ha! Split screen!

Yeah, the split screen is an awesome feature we now all of us know thanks to the awesome 24 TV series. I think the first time it was used was in "The andromeda strain", the movie based on Michael Chrichton's novel. Then later Paul Greengrass used it in Bloody Sunday, I think. But this split screen is directly based in 24.
I love 24, I am a fan of the series, and particularly of the 3rd season. That "Keechunk" sound effect is the one form the clock of the series XD as an homage of probably the most influential TV series of my life. And if you didn't noticed, the title of this comic is an homage too.

Ha ha! You thought it was over? No, it's never over. More split screen, as you know I based it on 24 split screens which are fairly awesome and fantastic, because I love that TV series and I love it's style and rythm.
Here there are some of the characters shooting, Suikun tries to get re-inforcements for James to cover the sides the silver dragons can't protect, and Maritn keeps looking for an ambulance to get medicines for the dragon Hazzard. He has found one.

Find the medicines

Martin keeps wandering on the battlefield and he happens to find an ambulance. He gets everything he needs, but the serum. Without the serum he will never get the burns of Hazzard hydrated, and he must find an alternative idea. In the distance he sees a groceries shop.
The tank serial number is "021" for no particular reason. It means nothing at all, it was just easy to make. Looks like the ambulance looks like an ambulance, huh?

Where are the lemons!?

Oh man, it's so silly. This is my 20th century Fox admirational page. I noticed that in every 20th Century Fox movie there's a silly little scene, maybe because studio chiefs want to have it. Sometimes the entire movie is silly, but it's compulsory in Fox movies, I am a fan of Fox, so I put it here.
