How Does It Fit?

Chakat Windsong has lent Chakat Mythril one of hir tops - and not only is it a few sizes too small, Mythril doesn't really seem to comprehend the essential function of clothing...

Mythril is essentially from a wild chakat/foxtaur hybrid race, and prior to this scene shi was picked up aboard the ship Prometheus from hir home planet, and has a lot to learn about society.

This is a scene from a story currently being written by Gregg Anderson, to add onto the Chakat Universe. Chakats Windsong and Mythril are copyright Gregg Anderson, and when the story is available to read, I will undoubtedly add links.

Love in Paris

Stephanie Foster and her lover Jean Genet making love by the Seine in Paris... It is wartime, and the searchlights scan the sky for enemy aircraft. But the two lovers are lost in love, enjoying one another after a sunset picnic.

I loved painting the intricate background for this, though it was very time consuming.

Daddy!

Taurger, a white tigress chakat, is being bathed by hir good friends, Chakats PittyPat and Vamp in an underground bathing grotto. Shi has been lost for over a year, and has just returned home to find shi is now a father. Awkward moment... ^.^

Penumbra

Another mini painting I just finished...

This was an exercise in color theory - with a warm/cool color scheme, and a snowleopard in a pose I sketched up during one of my random fits of sketchiness. I am really pleased with the way this one turned out.

6.25"x9" (roughly - I have a few pieces of illo. board this size that the art store cut for me. Its not a standard size, but hey, works for me.) acrylics and microns on illustration board.

White Rose

A snowleopard painted in monochromatics, holding a thornless white rose. Accents of a light metallic copper in the centers of the rosettes and on the butterfly fastening..

This was a pain and a half to paint, but I am pleased with how I did her eye, in particular. I am used to mixing media a lot more, so working strictly in acrylics I felt was restrictive, but a good exercise.

Leanna's Swing

Leanna the fennec fox goes with hir good friends Kris the red fox, and Trina the arctic fox to a clothes-optional beach, where they seem to be having a great time. Special attention paid to Trina's summer coloration, which I hadn't depicted before, and to the texture of the heavily trafficked sand. I think it is somewhat interesting to note that the only reference photo I used for this piece was of a seagull's feather pattern.

Under the Mistletoe

A holiday themed commission =).

A raccoon girl holds up a sprig of mistletoe, and slips off her festive robe... I enjoy doing holiday scenes - especially with a very cold exterior contrasting with a warm and cozy looking interior. The background outside the window was referenced from a neat photo I found. I really liked the colors.

I was given a lot of leeway on the commission - I even got to choose the species ^.^.. I hadn't drawn any raccoons lately, and I had raccoons on the brain =).

"Tasmanian Angel" - Is she a good girl, or a naughty girl, or a bit of both?

I'd never drawn a Tasmanian devil before, strangely enough, so she is my first! All the pics on Google I found of them have their mouths wide open... I guess they must be angry about having their pictures taken ^.^, But boy are they cute!

Listening to Billy Joel while drawing induces much dancing goodness.

Floofy snowleopard! I love snowleopard spots/rosettes =). This is an ink and graphite piece I did yesterday - cooling down after a lot of crazy perspective work ^.^

I sketched this up while listening to music one night - and inked her, shaded her in pencils and then watercolors, for a greyscale shaded effect =). She's a red panda - and I just felt like doing something fun and loose.

I had a lot of fun painting this one - due to the complex lighting scheme (dimly lit marshy forest, and blue energy bolts)... Anyways, just doing a lot more experimentaiton with paints...
