Alessia came about while on vacation in Arizona with a friend. While he was in the eye doctor's office, I sat in the waiting room and spotted a picture on the wall. It was a portrait of a sophisticated (almost yuppie looking) lady with a pair of eyeglasses on. I started to imagine her as a bunny so I ended up taking out my sketchbook and drawing it!

One of the few pieces that I can walk away from and be proud of (Yes, Im my own worst critic.). This one was drawn long ago but left alone for a good portion of the time as I was waiting ot improve some of my linework. The quality has gotten better in addition to me opening up to a new way of styling it.

She might become a recurring character but Im not sure what I would call this raving poodle.

Avril.jpg

This drawing was inspired by the singer Avril Lavigne. When I saw her music videos, I started to picture her as a fox. I really had not drawn any foxes but I figured this was all the more reason to try and "furrify" Avril Lavigne. I was surprised that I could draw a fox that looked halfway decent.

By the time it got around to coloring it, I had developed many techniques to produce some textures and good shading habits. So, here is Avril Lavigne as she would exist in an anthropomorphic world.

I designed this badge for FC2005's badges. Every year you can pick between 4 badge designs for your member badge that weekend. I made something that I thought was rather simple and probably would not work. I have seen some really nicely done pieces with an actual style so I didnt feel like it was the best one. Still I guess simplicity worked in this instance. It was one of those 4 choices.

The theme of the convention was "Furries of the Nile". Heiroglyphics in this art read "Furthur Confusion" with "2005" behind the lions.

Note: I submitted this for the laser show occuring at Further Confusion 2005 (a furry convention every year in my town around January). It is a bit complex for the laser show but they may be able to simplify it. I chose to create a fox out of the human form that it took on since it was obviously for a furry convention.

I dont know if this ever was used at the laser show.

Murr! This was done because I like Halloween so much and this was sort of what I came up with to wear for that night. Its a more extreme version of my "costume" anyway. I think it really showed the extreme side of me to my classmates in Perspective Class.

As you can see my fursona sometimes varies between degrees of transformation. Sometimes she is just showing her leopard spirit but without the compromise of human hands replaced by paws and such.

Step Right Up

Originally one of Babs Bunny's good friends, Zen, was privately asking other artist friends of Babs to create some art based on her fursuit character, Lili. I jumped at the chance and had a perfect idea in lieu of MidWest Furfest's Convention Theme -- County Fur.

Cataroo and I had a bit of an art jam session the other day and she taught me how to do pointillisms. This is my first attempt but it actually came out pretty decent (at the cost of one of my micron pens). I used a Great Danes Show book for the reference. Thanks Cataroo.

**Pointillism - n. - A style of painting that was popular among the French Neo-Impressionists of the late 19th century. It involves the practice of applying small strokes or dots of contrasting pigment to a surface so that from a distance the dots blend together into solid forms.

This is the first of a small "comic". I used thick lines to show focus as well as a "wet look" for the alcohol running down the side of the bar she is sitting at.

This is the second of a small "comic". I used thick lines to show focus in this one as well. I tried to put some other characters in the background, posing as our scene's "extras". It looks like she may be in trouble!

This is the third of a small "comic". This is the conclusion and what a conclusion! I tried to make this frame be the best and really show many elements learned in this class.

The idea was to evoke some mystery to the viewer and spark thier imagination. What happens next?

*laughs*
This piece still cracks me up. I made this as a form of "giftart" for Bladespark. Her boyfriend's bf Jordanis, was this month and she wanted to get a bunch of her FLEET group to make or buy items for one big present. My contribution was this.

You may not understand it because it is sort of an inside joke. Basically Jordanis runs campaigns against the Cow Conspiracy in his roleplay sessions. Apparently he has one more to take care of in this picture.

This is an action shot (my first real action shot) of my fursona. I sometimes wonder if she is pyrokenetic, hence the reason I gave her an orb of fire to throw. I do not really draw much of my own character but my fursona's bio page really needed a visual.

Its a mysterious look I intended to get across in this drawing. Kat is sort of looking back at you inviting you to find out more or to come closer. It was a perfect piece of art to use on the Enter Page of my main site (www.ladyleopardess.com). That has since been replaced by a 3D movie I have made but this piece still may come in handy sometime.

A month or so ago I had my website change its hosting. I got sick of Blue Capacity overselling thier server space and I found a nice company called Top Class Hosting. They are located in the UK so I decided to make a nice tribute to thier country and placed a rendition of this on the index.html of my site.

Pip pip!

Kat W00t!

Wow...it has been quite a long time since posting any of my works on here. However, I think this is a good way to start off a new year of VCL submissions...

I just colored and completed it today (April 07') and I have to say Im much more satisfied with the way that Im doing textures and shadows. I find that the colored outlines (vs. black) looked good...until I started going for semi-realistic tone.

This was drawn last fall, a day or so after receiving my California Drivers' License. For anyone who knows of my San Franciscan ways, driving is not one of my strong points and I never really thought to try and pass the test until I moved down to SoCal.

Hai yah! This is the idea for what the anthropomorphic form for our "At the Club" go-go dancer (which is not submitted to this site due to being OT content). This would be her transformation from a rockin go-go dancer to an anthropomorpic feline with a shock of red hair. She is ready to kick some tail!

Realization.jpg

This piece seemed like one of those ones that would be very basic with color but I found out quickly that it wasnt the case due to the lighting I wanted to use. The lighting sets the mood for this piece. She is nude because her emotions leave her naked/exposed to the world's malice from her despair.

This one sat in the scraps section for a long time as I had gotten quite frustrated with it for a while (see 'Artist Syndrome'/self loathing). Today my mood was definitly with this piece and so I ended up putting together a system to determine lighting. Thank goodness for Photoshop layers!

Hopefully this isnt too "emo" for people. Its one of my distinctively depressing works.

Rozga Catchin' Waves

While the art trade was for a badge, I figured I would use this as a special surprise for Rozga who is moving to California and (from what I understand) already knows how to surf in-real life. Welcome to California, hon.

For those who are not familiar, this character is a Shinoxin which is a dragon breed and with some mixed elements of other animals.

Rozga's art can be found here for those interested in the character reference:

This is my part of the art trade to Rozga-Chan. For those who are not familiar, this character is a Shinoxin which is a dragon breed and with some mixed elements of other animals.

This badge is a first for me, having never done glitter on the outside of a laminated badge. However it was necessary to give SOME impression of the waves that her sporty surfer character is cruising upon.

Whilie in IRC one night someone I had never met asked me if I could draw his character. He showed me a greyscale sketch of his character that someone else had done but he didnt have anything to show for it as far as color pieces. This sparked an idea I had long ago to do a "Under the Influence" art portfolio (I scrapped it as I was worried about possible critisism for the subject matter). I will say that I dont think it is a portfolio theme that any furry has done yet.

Anyhow, this is the character of DragonSteve. Steve (errr...and Steve) is what I would consider a "siamese dragon" as they share thier feet but have seperate hands, heads and upper torso. A typical dragon, Steve has a jewel encrusted hookah in which to smoke with.

TamicaPose.jpg

This is a character based off of someone from my real life. Long story short, Tamica was my very best friend back in middle and high school. We did everything together and she was the one who brought me out of my little shell. Sometime in our high school year, my ever changing life as well as hers let us slip away from eachother. I have longed to find her to this day. Until then, she can only exist in my mind and drawings. Tamica Monique Miller, if you are out there...give me a holla.

Tamica was originally going to be a panther or black leopard but sadly, with the color of her braids it would provide no real contrast. It was easy to change her into a lioness.

For 5 years I had formulated in my mind what a tattoo would look like if i ever was truly sure and got one. This is the design that I got for that tattoo back in January. Pictures of the tattoo as it appears IRL can be viewed here:

ThankyouHyperion.jpg

Disclaimer: Just as the name says, this piece of art I did was based off a similiar drawing I found from an artist named Hyperion. I would love to credit him here but i have not been able to find his webpage again. He is the one that inspired me to try and draw males despite the fact I have no confidence in doing so.

-------

I drew this piece by eyeballing Hyperions drawing. The only changes in the character that are my own is that it is digitally colored and the hairdo has been changed as well as it having tiger markings. So, this was a way for me to try and learn how to draw males before I got some real good books on the subject.

Kat the Leopardess is totally ready to send chaos upon the world. She has just killed her rational human counterpart of the vessel she inhabits (me of course teehee). This is one of my most sucessful images I have done. I had a good format to work from, using a drawing I did in high school. Wonder what trouble Kat will cause? Mrrrowwr!
