This started out pretty good (the head) and became progressively crappier (the wings, tailfeathers). So I'm not as pleased with it as I might have been. Made in Painter Classic.

Image: prayers.jpg   612x932 60039 bytes 2003.08.16

She prays at the sacred waterfall, with a smouldering branch of fragrant wood.

Image: sayonara.jpg   669x536 32900 bytes 2003.08.16

Buh-bye now. Don't let the door hit you in the arse on your way out.

Image: crowlady.jpg   503x554 33118 bytes 2003.08.16

Simple, boring, blue and black

Image: snailfairy.jpg   638x829 80469 bytes 2003.08.16

Curly swirly purple mollusks.

Image: missing.jpg   572x521 58772 bytes 2003.08.16

Some very old angst. I messed up inking the wing...but it's okay because the ink is my friend.

Image: khile2.gif   592x513 60330 bytes 2003.05.29

This picture contains a human. However, Khile's not really human in the traditional sense; he's just a dragon who likes to take human form. Unfortunately, his human form retains the pointy ears he has as a dragon, resulting in an occasionally difficult time socializing. C'mon, it's not like people would just ignore something that obvious. Here he is, in both forms.

Word up, G-dawg.

Image: hat.jpg   321x704 44458 bytes 2003.05.29

I made this during the winter when I was wearing a knit hat almost every day. I love that hat.

Image: glowfaegreen.jpg   650x700 81968 bytes 2003.05.29

The most common glofaery colors are blue, green, and red, but white and numerous other colors are sometimes seen. I had drawn a red one, also, but it turned out lame. They say that everytime a fresh glowstick is snapped, a glofae is born. :P

Image: glowfaeblue.jpg   650x700 57109 bytes 2003.05.29

Glofaeries are attracted to objects that produce light, but not heat, such as flourescent black lights, glow-in-the-dark objects, and of course, glowsticks. Their dust is a mild hallucinogenic. Aww yeah.

Image: tuatara.jpg   655x800 107482 bytes 2003.05.29

It's a tuatara. Dressed like a Maori. wow. Marker and colored pencil

Image: sekhmet.jpg   660x610 189806 bytes 2003.01.25

Sekhmet, the Egyptian lion-headed goddess, always seems to be portrayed in an awfully calm and poised manner for a creature that can embody death and pestilence. I think I like her better like this.

Image: birch.gif   618x662 91203 bytes 2002.10.14

I like birch trees. And since I royally blow at drawing trees, I'm pretty happy with this.\r\nNib and ink on bristol board.

Image: ezdemon.jpg   648x756 52443 bytes 2002.09.13

Esizkur is a demon. A 5,000 year-old Sumerian demon. He ususally hangs around in a human avatar nowadays, since he doesn't exactly get summoned a whole lot, and manifesting a 30-foot demon form in the physical is a real pain. Scribbled in Painter.

Image: antelope.gif   786x778 127993 bytes 2002.09.13

Inspired by the Discovery Channel, I present antelope-girl.

Image: frogfae.jpg   454x755 34418 bytes 2002.08.21

Frogs are cool. The world hasn't -completely- gone to hell until there are no frogs left. Pencil on journal paper.

Image: point.gif   583x515 53359 bytes 2002.08.21

He's pointing! At what, I don't know. I really like mules, they just seem to have more personality than horses. I think it's the nose. How can you resist a nose like that? At any rate, I had just gotten some new nibs and ink, and tested them out on this sketchbook doodle.

Image: dancing.jpg   639x906 83183 bytes 2002.08.21

Brush pens are entertaining, but the ones I have are slightly too large for the scale I work in. Nonetheless, I'm pleased with how this looks when colored. Seems rather art-deco. Ink on sketch paper, colored in Photoshop.

Image: zarathus.jpg   750x900 102267 bytes 2002.07.10

Art trade with Zarathus. I hope she likes it, because I tried a few new things with this pic (after deciding I hated the pencil-sketch). I'm not certain I like the result, either. Zarathus is Sarah MacClure.

Image: raestorm.jpg   900x750 126786 bytes 2002.07.09

Pic for Raeadh`ani, because she's nice and she asked (a really long time ago, even). For all the wait, it turned out allright. Try as I might for semi-realisticness, I cannot make the water look like water. My mighty flood of reference photos has failed me! Or maybe I just need more practice.

Image: khunshaman.jpg   675x776 67431 bytes 2002.07.09

Quickly colored sketch of Khunmaru, one of my dragon characters. Desert dragon, shaman, and fierce protector of her tribe. ph33r the shitty Utah-esque rocks.

Image: airgryph.jpg   740x896 174927 bytes 2002.07.09

First in a set of four elements. It's like a requirement that every artist make some sort of seasons/elements/zodiac series at some point in their career. At least, that's how it feels to me. I see them everywhere. This one is colored pencil on bristol. Yey, symbolism.

Image: Noitgun1.jpg   448x694 35876 bytes 2002.07.09

Wow, this is old. o_O It's Kitryn, in an old request. I still like this quite a bit, though. Kitryn is his player.

Image: hart2.jpg   645x742 80190 bytes 2002.06.23

For Hart's Ease. She was looking for a few artists to draw her bellydancing, for a t-shirt. The idea of a bellydancing wolf amused me enough that I couldn't resist. Markers and colored pencil on marker paper. \r\nHart's Ease is herself.

Image: kitsune.jpg   596x758 48852 bytes 2002.06.18

In Japanese myth, kitsune are white. I wonder if anyone's ever done a study on the rate of albinism in isolated fox populations.

Image: ratty.jpg   322x596 32580 bytes 2002.06.18

In the chinese zodiac, I am a Wood Rat. I like rats. That said, try to guess what the symbol on her shirt is. No, it's not 'wood'.

Image: merinahunt.jpg   697x741 67111 bytes 2002.06.18

Yeah. Colored pencil on crummy typing paper.

Image: music.gif   756x684 121476 bytes 2002.06.17

Musical preferences are so utterly personal and sacred, that it's futile to attempt to explain to another person why you lose yourself in certain songs or peices. Consequentially, I -could- tell you what I was listening to as I drew this, but as there is no way to share the sensation received as well, the meaning behind it would be lost.
