Adventures in Interior Design!
Aka, painting walls. With tester pots. Nothing else, just tester pots. Seeing how far you can streeeeetch them before having to give in and go and buy a proper pot of emulsion. \r\n\r\nCuttlepuppy! *dances* (They're not NORMALLY so biped, or humanoid, but I was having fun so here's a one-off!)

Something like it, anyway.

Trying yet again to pull this image off so that I'm actually HAPPY with it. Hmf. Her far wing and the swirlies around her tail didn't scan very well. \r\n\r\nRelated to this, FINALLY got another chapter of "Avocet" written (under "more info"). It's only been on the go since, what, 2002? Eh.

Reupload of an older image. I wasn't happy with the water (looked less like a river and more like someone had underlit it with halogen lamps) and there wasn't half enough of those things called "shadows". So I attacked it with my watercolours, and while I can't do much about the wobbly anatomy I'm happier with the colouring - less saurated, for one thing! And it didn't take so much fiddling with the output to get the colours truer to how they are in real life. At least the water looks more like water now - and look, it has fish! \r\n\r\nAnyway. Yay. I killed the paper with this, so any more fixable errors I spot later will have to stay there. \r\n\r\nKeaalu © A Scott '04

\tThis little bloke originated on the “Random dragon creator” (http://psycotica.tripod.com/randomdragon.html), to the owner of whom I obviously have to give SOME credit... :) Took a good three hours to do wings down, and I did take a few liberties with how he looked, though, since I couldn’t remember exactly what a styracosaur’s frill looked like, and colouring the entire thing in crimson wouldn’t have scanned well – plus you wouldn’t have seen its stripes. \r\n\r\n\tHe says rar.

Oriental dragon. I'm quite pleased with this one (apart from the oogly legs, not sure what's going on with them... bah)

This is (well, supposed to be) Quindle, for the latest Yerf Secret Santa. The brief was "monochrome"... I think the red will burn my eyes if I look at it for much longer.

This is Raifax, a dragon in a friend's comic. (Well, my version of him anyway) For a pictures exchange on one of the forums I used to be a regular on (only visit every now and then, now, though.)\r\n\r\n'Raifax' © Claudia "Alector" Schmidt (Eh, hope I spelt her name right... *whistles innocently*)

Yes, this is a re-upload of a pic - I took the original down, as I was trying to get a better scan of it, but I failed miserably on that front. Oh well. \r\n\r\nAnyway - this is a "maltese tiger" - never photographed and rarely seen, some people deny they exist, some people say they're just normal tigers that have got muddy. Anyway, I thought it'd be amusing to draw, so here it is - bluer than I wanted, but not vastly so, and the thing on her forehead is wonky. *grs* I was sure it was straight when it was still just in pencils.

Poor Mirii. She's got no idea that these people EAT their deity...\r\n\r\nPlaying around with ideas for plots for NaNoWriMo this year - I always say I want to do it, then never DO, but this year is THE year! \r\n\r\nIncidentally, since my own plots for my fiction feel old and tired now, I'm after other people's ideas for what to put in (not necessarily full plots or characters or anything, just interesting words to incorporate, weather events, creatures, etc.) Any ideas? :)

Reluctant Goddess, coloured
Added a quick bit of colour, to get the ideas across. Not going to type it all out again, though - more info on my journal.

"Dance of the Rampant Salamander"\r\n\r\nPainted on hand-dyed cloth. I had fun. Her little feets make me joyous. \r\nhttp://www.deviantart.com/deviation/17224089/\r\nThe world needs more newts, yup.

She's a 'draconar', I believe... not sure I spelt that right though. \r\n\r\nOh, and if anyone recognises where I’ve got the feathery crest and tail idea off, could they gimme a yell so I can put credit where credit due? I just remember seeing it somewhere, thinking “ooh, that’s cool, hey, I could use it for x” then forgetting my source. \r\n\r\nAnyway. Draconars and "Spectra" © Unopa Nightfire

I can't believe I forgot to upload some of these... ohwell. I've been getting lazy with my uploading. This was inspired by an old tee-shirt of mine - much-loved and falling apart at the seams. This is homage to it. :)\r\n\r\nMore information here http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/14323559/

Grouchy wyvern type bloke. Him grumpy. Better descriptions elsewhere, /me needing sleep 'n' can't think properly - Uni restarts today, and I do NOT want to be here... My bed is calling me. Another random dragon, anyway. \r\n\r\nNot very hydrodynamic for an aquatic creature, is he?

Slightly camp little swan dude. Yes, there's a few "familiar" things about him if you look hard enough (well, that is if you know my art... ;) ). :P

"Talking". Yay. The colours got sorta fudged on this one, though, when I coloured it - used poor quality paper and my Trias decided to punish me for it. Blah.\r\n\r\nAnyway, if it's not obvious, that creature is a cyborg, kinda. Nerf. Art © Keaalu (yay)

Mirii, the gold Kirasiinu with crazy feathers, and little Suni, dumped into the roles of accidental "goddess-daughter" and companion beast, and destined to end up as supper... ¬_¬ \r\n\r\nFrom a story I'm working on, anyway. These semi-Aztec-styled "glyphs" are fun. :) (Still a little bit of an Egyptian influence in there, but eh, they're supposedly from "an alien culture" so go figure.) This is the desaturated version - couldn't decide if I liked it better than the full-colour image, which is on my ElJay.

Little pencil drawing of Unopa. Started out as a lion, I think... how odd. Anyway. I like it. Used about 6 grades of pencil, as well, which was quite an experiment for me... Anyway. \r\nUnopa © herself.

Started off as just a little doodle in my teabreak at work, then got worked up to something more "serious". Kind of a tiger-leopard-dragon-thing, but verrrrry light on the dragon side - a friend's character, anyway. The grey is deliberate (meant to look overcast and snowy).\r\n\r\nNow, I must go off and practice fir trees.

Zaar. It used to be a phonetic name, as they used to be based off crows, but now they're not, so it isn't.

This is (supposed to be) Zenith, for Fia, for the Yerf May Secret Santa (too many "for"s in there). I felt like I was cheating, since the character is pretty historical to start with, so I tried to make her look Greek, as well. :) Part watercolour, part pencils, part mushed by scanner, part mushed by me with my 'orrible paper. Oh well.
