STUFFEDPUPPY.jpg
Image: STUFFEDPUPPY.jpg   560x700 60828 bytes 2003.04.19

Heh... it helps to work with a model, even when it's a stuffed animal, ie a plushie. My nephew wanted a picture done of his stuffed puppy that I got him when he was a fireman this last Halloween. Very soft puppy is a dalmation and doesn't look anything like this since it's more a beanbag pup. I drew this, and then realized I actually do have a picture of this from 101 Dalmations (live action movie poster) but didn't use it for reference, but I'm sure my mind remembered it mostly. The spots are referenced from the plush pup, as are the eyes and the nose. It makes a difference with the shiny parts!

NIGHTFOX.jpg
Image: NIGHTFOX.jpg   775x1090 203527 bytes 2003.04.19

I like this one. I had a few thoughts when doing this one. One was the fact we had had snowfall recently here and I stood outside shoveling it in the night (like 1am, yes I'm nuts) and stood and listened to the quiet. Another was this was soon after Columbia and I was thinking about what had happened there. Another was missing my love who's far away. I do like how this turned out. I didn't ink the background as much as I normally do, and the result is very nice I think. The sky took me forever to do with combinations of black, blue, and gray I think.

UCCSGIRAFFE.jpg

And hear you have the UCCS (University of Colorado @ Colorado Springs) Giraffe. Yes, we were the giraffes when I started at UCCS, though a popular vote changed it to the cougars in about 1999. I'm sorry, but the giraffes are far more unique for an American (North or South) school (of any level). Unlike the cougars who are everything from elementary to major University. Feh. Black and Yellow are the school's colors, and yes, I need a real anatomy book. I got one recently, and it will help. \r\n\r\nThis was drawn with no reference to giraffes while sitting in a car with a couple of other furs... and finished a long time later once I figured out what to do with it.

JEDILIGHTFLOW.jpg

Ah, the Jedi fox... in her natural environment she meditates, unaware of the world or the overly curious Murrcury who wonders at her floating habits... This was done for Valentine's day (YAY I GOT ACCESS TO A SCANNER AGAIN!) as seen by the decorations. Lightflow and Murrcury can be seen on Furrymuck, rped by me and my love.

haymanquestions.jpg
Image: haymanquestions.jpg   843x618 181770 bytes 2002.07.15

I came home from visiting my fiance in Ohio to find the air slightly smokey, scented of campfires, and my own breathing encumbered by it. I did not mean for this picture to turn out the way it did when I started (I was stuck inside because of smoke danger levels) but then continued with my feelings and got this fox staring at a ring of stones from a forgotten campfire and the area burned down around her. You can see the beginning of the muzzle marking I'd develop later. The back paws are supposed to look like they've sunk in ash (not a realistic scene, I know, but it's how I felt) and you can see that I took more time on the front paws. \r\n\r\nThe Hayman fire is contained now. God bless the firefighters who helped us and lost their lives. May the other fires out there be put out soon. And may everyone who camps realize that if the conditions are dangerous, DON'T MAKE A FIRE! Even if you follow all the safety rules. Just don't. It's not worth it. It's going to take 100 years for the forests we lost here in Colorado to get back to where they were.

wolfsurprise.jpg

Ok, this is one of my "I really do see myself as an arctic fox" pictures. And my mate agrees with me. It was also an experiment in positions. The fox is slightly stretching, and he's in a "gonna geet you" position to surprise her. The paws stink, but that's typical of me unless I spend time on them. Which I swore to do in the next one I did.

springdragon.jpg
Image: springdragon.jpg   638x300 29120 bytes 2002.04.25

This is a black and white picture done simplistically for a letter I wrote to someone. To make things easier, I put snow on the ground, though looking back I should have made it water like a stream. This canid is discovering a new spring dragon, the idea being to wish my friend and his family a happy spring! I don't plan on coloring this, as I think I like it in this simply inked version.

stretching.jpg
Image: stretching.jpg   350x225 12141 bytes 2002.03.10

I accidently cut off the front paw, but actually ran out of room for the top of the tail and the back paw. This is also done on 3X5 card, and looks a lot better IRL. :P The fox is colored a very very light gray/white, as she's mostly in her winter coat and the gray is barely beginning to show.

wolfcard.jpg
Image: wolfcard.jpg   350x215 11194 bytes 2002.03.10

This is another unnamed, unclaimed fur on a 3X5 card. It's a wolf. I've been watching more Balto and playing around with that style a bit more. I don't like this one that much.

ratwarrior.jpg
Image: ratwarrior.jpg   350x225 9897 bytes 2002.03.10

I have a bunch of 3X5 cards by my computer that sometimes I draw on with the thought that they could be nametags. Even though I know that real nametags are smaller. This rat just sort of happened over a few days and I have no idea who he is. I even asked furs if they knew rats to get an idea how to color him. So, here he is. Unnamed, unclaimed, but powerful!

decoratedwulfcolora.jpg
Image: decoratedwulfcolora.jpg   675x900 80614 bytes 2001.12.20

Here is my christmas wolfie all decorated.... doesn't he look PLEASED! *chuckles* Inspired by me telling my love he needs to be inundated with Christmas music, which he actually agreed with, and then me seeing those funny reindeer doggy hats at stores...

santa.jpg
Image: santa.jpg   675x957 112087 bytes 2001.12.04

Santa Claws.... heh. I don't really like the chair or the legs, but I do like Santa and the baby, and how happy and content Santa looks holding the babe.

Asmo2.jpg
Image: Asmo2.jpg   750x450 25988 bytes 2001.11.22

Here's the other commission done for my love Asmodaeus Lupine. These two are con badges done on 3X5 index cards, the smallest I've tried before. Again, the eyes and saber glow in the dark.

Asmo1.jpg
Image: Asmo1.jpg   750x450 35800 bytes 2001.11.22

Sort of a commission, this is a con badge made for my love Asmodaeus Lupine. There's a trick about it too. Since I emailed it to him and I doubt he'll read this before I actually mail it to him... the sabers and eyes of the two badges I made actually glow in the dark. I love glow in the dark craft paints. :)

letmein1.jpg
Image: letmein1.jpg   1000x800 72089 bytes 2001.11.14

This is in the "sketches" folder uncolored, here it is colored. I like the coloration and for once the scanner seemed to work with me. For the explanation, sometimes we get so boxed in by our troubles we feel completely isolated and alone and forget that those who love us the most are wanting only to be let in. In other words, sometimes when we feel the most alone, it's because of our own doing, not because we're actually alone.

I may retrace and recolor this picture of a friend of mine. Yes, his mane is supposed to be that short, he's a cub! At least in my eyes he's still a cub. Although a big one now.

weazel.jpg
Image: weazel.jpg   600x1100 71731 bytes 2001.11.04

A drawing done for a friend.

karatefoxa.jpg
Image: karatefoxa.jpg   640x920 73501 bytes 2001.09.27

Another commission for my nephew... *s* Actually an art exchange. I now am the proud owner of a picture of his dog Nikki, which is adorable and I think is WONDERFUL for a 5 year old and will forever be in my art book. Anyway, his mom wanted me to draw a karate fox. She wasn't around so I asked details from him and he said a kid fox, one his age. At first everyone said it looked girlish, I think it looks more boyish with the colors I chose. Anyway, the nose is messed up, and I should have done more with the ears, but it works. Meanwhile, I can't get the adult karate fox to work out (as his mom was thinking more along the lines of what I drew for rainbow warrior fox.)

Chernak.jpg
Image: Chernak.jpg   716x1100 109945 bytes 2001.09.27

My first attempt at a bad guy. Chernak is a gray fox in a fox furry rp. They had a lot of good guy foxes, but so far no one had brought in a bad guy. I'm planning on rping Cherak as a baddie, but lately I've been quite sick. So the picture is ready. I have the ideas in my head. But I don't have the energy to rp it yet. *sighs* Anyway, here's Chernak.

jakesquirrel.jpg
Image: jakesquirrel.jpg   500x750 48134 bytes 2001.09.11

Ok, there are some things I like about this one (it's my first bunny and I think he looks danged good for a lopped) and there are things I don't like (gad... *hides the hands*) The squirrel is an Abert's Squirrel (NOT ALBERT) from Colorado (they're black) and there's a funny story behind this one... but I don't need to make this longer than it needs to be. Anyway, they're both pets of the aforementioned fox and jackal.

Terranikoa.jpg
Image: Terranikoa.jpg   600x550 48624 bytes 2001.09.11

Terra and Niko. Terra is a red fox and Niko is a Jackal. This is my second attempt drawing the two of them. The other attempt will not make it to this page. *hides it under books* It might not ever make it out of my sketchbook. *tries to lift the curse from it* It might not ever make it to be seen by anyone else's eyes... GAH!

brycefoxa.jpg
Image: brycefoxa.jpg   638x850 75933 bytes 2001.09.02

A true commission maybe? My 5 year old nephew wanted a fox warrior in his sketchbook and I drew for him. Eventually he asked for me to draw one in pencil (because he saw how it helps) and in my big sketchbook. I inked it and he told me the colors to color it. Everything except the eyes. I would have colored it as a wolf almost (just the face reminds me of a wolf more than a fox) but this was HIS picture. Pink shorts, green sabre, rainbow fur instead of any white, with silver tips on his scruff and tail-tip, this warrior's best friend is (surprise surprise) a 5 year old little boy who he protects from all bad-guys. *just smiles* Not one of my best works, but it was done with a little boy wanting it done when he woke up, and him having to take it home, as well as some of the inking with a little boy leaning on the table and wiggling it from time to time... so I think I did darned well!

foxnmousea.jpg
Image: foxnmousea.jpg   766x445 49263 bytes 2001.07.06

My love was mentioning the other night how he can see himself as different species besides the wolf. Much to my pleasure because I think that humans limiting themselves to one animal are doing a great injustice to what a human is meant to be. But anyway, one of the animals he mentioned was a rat and I got to thinking how my habit is to draw myself as a fox and wondered what would happen if my fox self met his mouse/rat self without knowing who it was... foxes eat mice. *grins*

forgivenessa.jpg
Image: forgivenessa.jpg   675x555 72535 bytes 2001.07.06

The natural reaction to a sorry, is forgiveness. That doesn't mean fully going back to where you were before the sorry, but it's a healing of the heart and releasing of any anger. Time shows whether forgiveness was lasting. I rather like how this picture came out.

sorrya.jpg

An interesting image that I drew recently.

cricketa.jpg
Image: cricketa.jpg   250x600 48579 bytes 2001.05.12

And here's Jacob, or as his dad nicknamed him, Cricket because when he gets excited he squeaks. I told him I needed to see him for his muscles, but he very strongly insisted on the pillow... shy Crick.

columbine.jpg
Image: columbine.jpg   350x550 40927 bytes 2001.05.12

I think this is Columbine Snow, a character of mine. I couldn't find the black at first so the iris of her eyes are purple, but rather than fix it on the computer I did sort of like how strange that looks. So I left it.

protectora.jpg
Image: protectora.jpg   1000x550 61396 bytes 2001.05.08

When I was a child and my sister was beating on me, I used to imagine a large, black wolf that would protect me against anything that wanted to harm me. On my worst nights, the black wolf would lay next to me watching the door, between it and me as I slept. ~Child of the Lupine (I tried to clean this up as much as I can to keep it out of the sketches. The pencil is supposed to look sketchy, but I cleaned up the area around it as much as I can...)

artiedrown.jpg

A drowning Artie that I don't like the way it turned out. Gah.

artiesasha.jpg
Image: artiesasha.jpg   1220x800 284228 bytes 2001.04.17

Here's Artie with Sasha. I don't like how this one looks, still, I was trying for a more beach approach, sort of like a sand painting.
