Image: 2Dragons.jpg 700x520 96176 bytes 2000.04.19

\r\n The spine on this little book's cover was just limp enough to permit a shadowless scan. These dragons were a doodle, without my usual preliminary pencil rough.\n

Image: angst.jpg 520x784 211819 bytes 2000.03.30

Angst\r\n
\r\nJokingly titled by Kuo, still the title is fairly accurate. This drawing was a pet project of mine early in college.\n

Image: Centaur.jpg 669x1137 438969 bytes 2000.04.19

\r\n An early piece and incomplete, still this centaur was remarkably well done for the time I drew him. I still have trouble with off-angles and foreshortening.\n

Image: CrystalDragon.jpg 710x1044 178771 bytes 2000.03.30

Crystal Dragon\r\n
\r\nI achieved this weird red-orange on black effect by drawing the original in non-photo blue, scanning it into Photoshop and creating a photo-negative. I'm particularly proud of this dragon. \n

Image: CthulhuSushi.jpg 312x350 33522 bytes 2000.03.30

Cthulhu Sushi\r\n
\r\nThe most difficult part of this drawing was figuring out how to spell "Cthulhu". It started out as a doodled joke on some friends playing a C of C game. They published it in the schedule booklet for GeoCon 6.\n

Image: Diego.jpg 726x1009 168517 bytes 2000.03.30

Diego\r\n
\r\nA gift to Kuo's player, this sketch portrays his martial-artist tiger Diego (formerly on Tapestries). Diego's in Mantis stance, though due to the difficulty of capturing that, I think I may have drawn him doing the Curly Shuffle instead...\n

Image: Dragon's_Head.jpg 468x617 194238 bytes 2000.03.30

Dragon's Head (un-inked)\r\n
\r\nThis piece is part of a larger picture of two dragons in combat that covers two page-widths on the inside cover of a new sketchpad, but the head is by far the centerpiece of the image. Kuo likes this raw sketch more than the inked one. \n

Image: Dragon's_Head2.jpg 462x615 96735 bytes 2000.04.19

\r\n This is the finalized, inked version of the pencil-rough above. This version is my favorite, because it lacks the softness of the pencil rough and has more depth and texture.\n

Image: dragon.jpg 712x934 281151 bytes 2000.03.30

Gargantuan Dragon\r\n
\r\nIt's incomplete, but I'm amazed that I did this much work in only four hours. The original is the size of a sheet of typing paper, and the pointillism was done with india ink.\n

Image: dragonandhorse.jpg 1008x1163 291942 bytes 2000.03.30

Untitled\r\n
\r\nThis inked sketch has an oddly anime-esque influence to it... I might follow up on that sometime.\n

Image: DragonKnot1.jpg 165x700 40339 bytes 2000.04.19

\r\n Originally drawn to border a page on a GeoCon manual.\n

Image: dragonshorde.jpg 749x1044 430202 bytes 2000.03.30

Dragon's Horde\r\n
\r\nOlder work of mine, I had fun with negative space. The original hangs on my wall.\r\n\n

Image: gcdragon.jpg 641x895 137828 bytes 2000.03.30

Badge Dragon\r\n
\r\nThis piece was created for use as a border on badges for Geocon 6. I like the abstractions in the wings and tail.\n

Image: greendragon.jpg 1063x519 269051 bytes 2000.03.30

Surprise \r\n
\r\nThis dragon just noticed the viewer. Before this piece, I don't think I've ever captured such an expression of surprised recoil as I did here.\r\n\n

Image: Gryphon.jpg 787x849 440596 bytes 2000.04.19

\r\n Every feather of this gryphon was detailed in ink before color was added. I'm proud of this piece for that and the detail of the nares; this was guesswork, long before I actually had any idea how a raptor's beak is built.\n

Image: HeMakesCoffee.jpg 630x983 189022 bytes 2000.03.30

He Makes Coffee\r\n
\r\nThis is my best anthro - translation of Kuo and Meryl's players to date. (Here, we're going through our morning ritual... Okay, alright, so it's *my* morning ritual. He makes good coffee. ;)\r\n\r\n\n

Image: jeezus.jpg 528x912 138464 bytes 2000.03.30

Dragon In A Human Form\r\n
\r\nThis character from a Rifts game is a newborn dragon, born into a world where her existence, if discovered, would guarantee her a death sentence. I enjoy playing her even more than I did drawing her. \n

Image: jeezus2.jpg 523x851 298548 bytes 2000.03.30

Dragon In A Human Form, second illustration\r\n
\r\nThe newborn dragon from the picture above was given a magical ring to make her less conspicuously abnormal- here, she's a young platinum blonde woman. This gift followed shortly on the heels of being taught that human women clothe themselves... :)\n

Image: jet.jpg 856x1186 202965 bytes 2000.03.30

Jet\r\n
\r\nA Shadowrun character, Jet was a physical adept with a curse; anything mechanical she touched would self-destruct (gremlins -4, to you folks out there into gamerspeak). She's pictured here with her standard weaponry. I'm very proud of the linework I put into her; It suits her personality beautifully.\n

Image: Kestrel.jpg 803x1127 457608 bytes 2000.04.19

\r\n This piece has an admittedly wacky color sense, which is what made it so much fun to draw. The kestrel steals the show here.\n

Image: Kingfisher.jpg 540x600 86655 bytes 2000.04.19

\r\n A sighting entry from my college ornithology journal. The bird looked me in the eye, and I fell in love. I spent the rest of the night detailing her. I was a horrible scientist when it came to field documentation (time, date, precise location right down to the county and state)... this piece helped me pass the class.\n

Image: knightvsdragon.jpg 919x1361 635075 bytes 2000.03.30

Image: Knotwork1.jpg 227x1150 219599 bytes 2000.04.19

\r\n This was a playful attempt at celtic knotwork, finalized and colored behind my high school algebra teacher's back years ago.\n

Image: kuo.jpg 480x825 106587 bytes 2000.03.30

Kuo with a Fire Rose\r\n
\r\nI intend to come back to this pic and Photoshop color into it, but for now it stands alone quite well. This is my homage to Kuo, the FM otterbabe.\n

Image: LabRat.jpg 452x1000 103904 bytes 2000.04.19

\r\n Albino humanoid lab rat in a trenchcoat. Pretty straightforward, really. I posted her because of the subtle coloration I applied to give her detail.\n

Image: Lioness.jpg 412x772 61066 bytes 2000.04.19

\r\n She started out as a mostly human sphinx, but something about her seemed to want a feline head. She was a one-off drawing, but she has as much personality as a fully-thought-out character.\n

Image: Liontaur.jpg 803x791 665373 bytes 2000.03.30

Liontaur\r\n
\r\nThis is years old, waaay back before my initiation into the furry fandom... :)\n

Image: logo.jpg 928x1110 246494 bytes 2000.03.30

GeoCon Dragon\r\n
\r\nAlthough used for the cover of a GeoCon schedule book, this dragon was originally drawn during a severe bout of food poisoning, for the reason that it took my mind off of how bad I felt. I've recieved more compliments on the art I drew during that time than any other...\n

Image: Mantling.jpg 800x604 147614 bytes 2000.04.19

\r\n After seeing seven bald eagles in a day of birding, I came home and drew this one. While I watched the eagles, a spot storm of sleet pelted both me and the birds until we were freezing. When the storm passed, the eagles mantled their feathers to hold in body warmth and dry off more quickly. I just sat in a bush and shivered. ;)\n

Image: mermaids.jpg 906x1423 228608 bytes 2000.03.30

Mermaids and Storm\r\n
\r\nArt like this is rare for me. Though the scanner didn't do it justice and it's not wholly inked, I'm proud of the frailty of the linework and the realistic, voluptuous shapes of the ladies.\n
