This was from a college watermedia class I took during summer break in between my high school junior and senior year. The whole entire class was for the sake of experimental work.

This is my first dabbling in a techique I'm rather fond of for atmospheric pieces. We first painted over the areas that we didn't want black with gouche paint, let that dry, then covered the whole thing with black india ink. We let that sit for a few minutes, then we washed off the ink. The gouche covered areas just washed right off, while the unpainted aread had absorbed the ink. I might mention that I recommend doing this on very heavy watercolor paper. (300 lb at least).

Off topic.

This is from last year, one of my projects for my AP Art class my senior year of high school. This was one of the breadth projects we had to do.

The idea of the assignment was to make a collage of newsprint, picures, etc, then paint them over with one color, then to do a self portait using the color as a middle tone, then white and black gouche paint. At the end of mine, my eye was having at hard time finding a good composition, so I painted out the negatice space with a fourth tone. I like the effect that resulted.

Ok, folks, I know for a fact you're looking at the oldest piece that I've posted. This was from a good year and a half ago, and I have to say, for something this hideously old, it ain't half bad. I'd change the angle of the claw, and revamp the wing, but keep everything else.

Oy, this is from waaaaaaaaaay back. o.o; Drawn in Washington last spring when we vacationed up there. While we were there, we got to go Orca watching. It was an awe-inspiring experience, one got close enough to the boat I coulda touched her(!).

This is somewhat recent, I still love it. Everything came out great. The only thing I would have changed is the flow of the hair and the wings. Also, I wish I hadn't made the waist so friggin skinny. o_o;

Mew, I should really pick this guy up again, I really like his looks. ^^ NEways, clothes and highlights done in colored pencil, body done in marker, and background done in pastel.

This started out as more of a hair style experimentation than anything. I wasn't quite expecting such an Egyptian-esque result. But, yeah, as time went on, I chose to empasize the eyes to give the picture a place of focus.
