For Lady Jekyll, who's talent for acrylics is surpassed only by her sweetness. One of the nicest people I've ever met. I hope you like, m'Lady! ^^

More out of curiousity than anything, I did a digital and traditional version to see how a piece would look when done in the opposing coloring techniques. Love the digital, hate the traditional. NEways, I'm rather happy with how this piece turned out, though Mateem's right arm looks a little fooked. Oh well.

I was originaly going to use oil paper for the scales, but after I had done the flames and started out the head, it occured to me that it might have divided the dragon too much, made everything too choppy. (The oil paper I have is purple, blue, green, black and gold). So for a lark, I chose to instead try a sponging effect with red, poppy red and goldenrod. The effect turned out beautifully, I'm really happy with it. If there was one thing I could change, it's the body segment at the top. I intended for a dramatic foreshortening throughout the piece, and it would have worked, if I have kept the flames in better scale. Other than that, I'm quite happy with how it turned out.
