I drew Matrices, but I couldn't get the head to look right, so I eraced it, then colored the pic, hoping I could do the head, but it still turned out krraappy, rather nice coloring job, though...

I worked 17 hours on this thing. Its my halloween mask. Made from newspaper, wheat paste, glue, paint, faux fur (4 different colors, the yellow I had to use rit dye to tint to the right color), fishing line, screen, safteypins, hot glue, acrylic, styrafoam, cardboard, tape, glow in the dark spraypaint, whatever it is I used for hair, and love.

Here's a picture of an "older" Matrices. I tried to get her to look around her mid-20's .. her approximate age I usually draw her is supposed to be around 18 or 19.

This, is the first thing I've uploaded in a long time... yay! okay, It's a pic my friend, Jennifer (Chloe), asked me to draw for her boyfriend, Eric. This is actually a colored photocopy, the origional got a nasty potato-chip fingerprint greese stain on it, so uh. I colored it with colored pencils, cut it out and put it on a black peice of paper, then colored the black peice of paper for shading and light effect for the candles or whatever... I think it turned out rather nicely. I've impressed half my school teachers with it... hehe

Whoo! Art trade wif Lost, its his char, Outcast! He's dancin'! the background picture is of the brainfreezy machine in 7-11, I got yelled at for taking that picture, but I took it anyways and developed it at school. I like this pic. Re-upload means I made it better.

My dog was digging, then she was nosing the dirt back over the hole she just dug, even though she didnt put anything in the hole. She ended up scraping her nose all up. And since she is a black dog, she now has a pink scar on her nose. Aww. This is just a pic of Mukilteo with a hurted nosie.

I call my dogs Fluffy Buffy and Tattoo... their real names are Ophelia and Petunia.

An idea which Rabid and Frenz gave to me to draw one night. There was more to this picture, but this was the part I liked best. The rest was badly inked and I forgot about a lot of things I wanted to add .. after I had inked it. I tried to fix it. This part alone makes a fairly good composition in itself. .. but whatever.

I really want to learn how to do the tag-art style of writing, but I just havent had the time. I have a friend who's willing to teach me, but .. yeah, just no time to learn.
I have been having more time lately, though. So I drew this picture in hopes that I could put some tag-writing in as part of the background.
I decided to shave Matrices' head, also. Now it seems she has more expression, since the hair was covering up her eyes. I like it a lot better like this. I could never draw her hair right to begin with. :P

PaperMacheCharacterMasks.jpg
Image: PaperMacheCharacterMasks.jpg   696x731 133648 bytes 2002.10.11

I make a mask every year for halloween, this began in 1999 (when I made a mask of Mukilteo).
The "old" Matrices mask was made with flour and water paper mache, with corrugated cardboard to shape her nose and ears. The Odium mask I used wheat paste and water paper mache, plus watered down glue, with cereal box-type cardboard to shape his nose and ears and styrafoam to make his tusks.
This year my "new" Matrices mask uses just cereal box-type cardboard and watered down glue. and its stronger and lighter than the other two masks pictured. I plan to cover it in faux fur like the others as well.
I've been trying to redesign Matrices so she is easier to draw, sculpt, etc. specifically just her ears and how they behaive. Usually I draw them folded back, which is reminiscent of when I was learning how to draw and couldnt draw ears, so it was simpler to just have them folded back (which became part of her and Mukilteo's characters) So I'm trying to break out of that, but still keep it as Matrices, instead of /completely/ redesigning her. So I've made her ears look more relaxed rather than rigid & erect like Odium's, or lazily folded back like the "old" style.
If I have any left over fur I plan to make paws & a tail to complete the look. Although fursuiting doesn't interest me other than on halloween or possibly to a convention or a party, its really a fun process to make your own mask. I obviously like talking about how I do it, and look forward to creating a new one every year. (and sorry for such a long description)
