gah, im afraid im doing too much off topic stuff. the bodhisattvas were quite off topic, but i wanted to put em in with my icons. i dont know about this. that's not actually supposed to be a human skeleton, but it's kinda hard to discriminate.

i get a kick out of this picture.

its a complete reversal of the tradional roles of the main figures of judeo-christianity. here is satan, saviour of earthly beings, crushing evil underfoot (the lamb of god, here manically fingering his rosary). his nude form and build is reminicent of roman gods, and his robes are held in a prince-like estate. ive done away with alot of the devil's characteristics to make him seem more human, his horns and hooves, his wings. i kept his trident, both as a symbol of power, and so people would still be able to identify him.

the humor is in making the characters easily recongnizable, but to put them completly out of orhodox context. haha, satan as savior, jehovah as feind. i love it. how many people can i offend with this image?

painting is actually about that big

the illuminator. cross between buddhism and satanism. the failed bohisattva, conditioned by suffering and a lack of spiritual faith. the broken wheel of dharma sybolizes the abandonment of morality. the three major lights sybolize the trinity, but only as a mockery. notice how the light radiates not from the actual figure, but from his things.

i decided that need to do more finished pieces. so i did this. took me like six months cause i'd go for like five weeks without working on it. whatever

its a portrayal of the conflict that arises when an aware person is torn between materialism and abstract transcendant experience. naked women with books= lust and mental function. its my fursona actually; the figure hold incense as a representation of institutionalized religion or organized thought, which while equivocated brings it own demons.
