Me, as a dog, contemplating my sole remaining thread of sanity. Here's the lesson, boys and girls; love is BS. It's a myth, just like all that other BS they feed you when you're a kid; just like Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. And I've lost all my faith in the myth. Prismacolour markers and brush pens. Copyright Mel. Ungh.

notfrillsk.jpg
Image: notfrillsk.jpg   450x589 51868 bytes 2004.08.03

I recently acquired a set of Prismacolour markers that were on sale at a local art mart. I learned two things; Prismacolour markers both rock, and make me high. Oh, and another thing; they apparently don't show up on drug tests, either. Don't ask how I know that. Copyright Mel. You toca, you muerte.

...I can't wait to get to work. Jackal the Ripper. Scratchboard nonsense (C) 2004 Mel. Sketch looks better...oh, well.

moonraven.JPG
Image: moonraven.JPG   550x541 61636 bytes 2003.12.31

This is a study I'm doing for a painting I'd like to do on a feather when work stops killing me. I did this on scratchboard in about ten minutes while my gaming group was yapping about their characters (bow to Jaxeel). Copyright 2003 Mel Stanley, and don't you forget it.

And, finally, a front view of poor, clueless Jaege. Copyright Mel 2003.

Oct05#16.jpg
Image: Oct05#16.jpg   267x246 51889 bytes 2003.11.22

Another profile view of the miniature. Copyright Mel 2003. I suck at describing.

Oct05#14.jpg
Image: Oct05#14.jpg   245x238 50357 bytes 2003.11.22

Back view of my previous image. Copyright Mel 2003.

Oct05#11.jpg
Image: Oct05#11.jpg   258x303 62215 bytes 2003.11.22

This is an inch-high miniature made from two-part epoxy of a character I roleplay named Jaege. It took me a friggin' week to make this thing. Side view. Copyright 2003 Mel.

never.jpg
Image: never.jpg   600x487 25434 bytes 2002.04.24

This is the debut of the character I've chosen to represent me; Tsesere the black phoenix. This creature embodies my rage and my passion; my hatred, and my destruction. Tsesere is my dark side. Inspired by real life, such as it is. Sketched, then colored in Photoshop. Every time I care, I get hurt; ergo, I must stop caring.

colorful.jpg
Image: colorful.jpg   500x458 41032 bytes 2002.03.14

I don't know what it is. Colorful strangeness done in colored pencils, a long time ago. Maybe it's a dragon or something. I don't know.

stippledelephant.jpg
Image: stippledelephant.jpg   245x161 19664 bytes 2002.03.14

Just your average stippled elephant doodle. I rather like this one. It was done during my short obsession with stippling things.

breadnose.jpg
Image: breadnose.jpg   483x522 47069 bytes 2002.03.14

Quick pen doodle. His nose looks like a loaf of bread. That is all. You may go.

vamprevamp.jpg
Image: vamprevamp.jpg   792x562 69951 bytes 2002.03.14

The vampire brothers, Vamp and...Revamp. I don't know what inspired this, but I wish it'd stop. Quick Photoshop doodle.

bunnyrun.jpg
Image: bunnyrun.jpg   800x342 30942 bytes 2002.03.14

Photoshopped bunny against a Photoshopped background. Mm, Photoshop! All crappiness considered, though, I rather like this image. Art (c) 2002 Mel Stanley.

nanimwe.jpg
Image: nanimwe.jpg   250x552 33083 bytes 2002.03.14

Nanimwe is an Indian-type coyote I did some time ago with colored pencils. Done without references. No background because I think that CGed background on hand-drawn images don't look good. Or at least, so I tell myself. :P Artwork (c) 2002 Melissa Stanley.

spottedyspottedy.jpg
Image: spottedyspottedy.jpg   450x639 45575 bytes 2002.03.14

An image drawn in mechanical pencil that I've been wanting to display for quite some time. First, I couldn't get to a scanner, then I couldn't get to Photoshop, then I couldn't figure out how to get the bloody blue lines off the image. But I finally got it right. This drawing took about an hour, and isn't really based off any specific cat species (my excuse for the crappy anatomy). No references, you see. As always, art (c)2002 Mel Stanley.

vixen.jpg
Image: vixen.jpg   550x612 207987 bytes 2002.02.16

Whatever she is, she looks kind of mad. Erk. Doodled on paper, then inked and fiddled around with for what seemed like years in Photoshop. Should anyone wish to feed a starving artist, prints are available; just e-mail me for details. Art (c) 2002 Mel Stanley, don't steal, PMS-ing canine, blah, blah, blah.

werewolf.jpg
Image: werewolf.jpg   530x700 95940 bytes 2002.02.04

This werewolf (almost) was done in the crappiest image editing program I could find besides Paint. It didn't like me, and now it looks like crap. Crappy werewolf (c) 2002 Mel Stanley.

ratboy.jpg
Image: ratboy.jpg   505x467 76560 bytes 2002.01.23

To be honest, I have absolutely no idea what this is. I was supposed to be a catlike like creature, but it ended up looking like a rat morph. Mechanical pencil on typing paper, like a good fifty percent of my drawings. But this one's actually colored (photoshop). Copyright 2002 Melissa Stanley.

zebra.jpg
Image: zebra.jpg   500x492 142224 bytes 2001.11.28

My first nude ever. Don't expect any more from me. I don't usually do nudes, but the inspiration for this came from that "Man in Net" picture which seems to be in every history textbook in the history of the universe. I like the way it turned out, I just wish the net wasn't that bright purple. Racism sucks. Peace out. Nekkid zebra (c) 2001 Melissa Stanley

squirrelfart.jpg
Image: squirrelfart.jpg   300x506 41178 bytes 2001.11.28

I had a roommate who said that she was always afraid this would happen on cold days. I wish I'd had the intellectual chutzpah to do a background. Art in bad taste (c) 2001 Melissa Stanley.

spotty.jpg
Image: spotty.jpg   500x658 62110 bytes 2001.11.28

o.O ...... Please don't kill me, Ch'marr...pretty please? Art is mine, Ch'marr is Ch'marr's. In hindsight, I probably shoulda put little horns on the wolfie... :)
Bad joke, I know, but I've had this in my head for a while. A thousand apologies. Offer void everywhere in the universe except for that little itchy spot on your back you can never reach. If product comes into contact with eyes, please consult your therapist.

prayrat.jpg
Image: prayrat.jpg   400x337 45493 bytes 2001.11.28

A praying rat, colored by hand. Oooooh...crap-tacular, non? Actually...I kind of like this one. *gasps* I actually like something I drew! Time for that li'l ol' Apocalypse. Art (c) 2001 Melissa Stanley

magicat.jpg
Image: magicat.jpg   400x466 93972 bytes 2001.11.28

Sleight-of-hand artist kitty with no name. I think he looks like a Sergei, but that's just me. Now with crappy Photoshopped background (hey, be grateful for what yer gettin'). I liked the uncolored version better, for some reason. Art (c) 2000 Melissa Stanley

allbase.jpg
Image: allbase.jpg   450x293 34638 bytes 2001.11.28

My apologies for this. Caffeine-inspired ravings are fun, ja? Oh, and somebody set us up the bomb. Art (c) 2001 Melissa Stanley

run.jpg
Image: run.jpg   479x236 27119 bytes 2001.11.11

Stipple-y goodness. Random badly-drawn stripety critter running. Badly-drawn stripety creature copyright 2001 Melissa Stanley. Yay.

fox.jpg
Image: fox.jpg   400x444 66882 bytes 2001.11.11

A fox done with brush and ink as a Design project. I plan to experiment more with this style. Art copyright 2000 Melissa Stanley.

eagle.jpg
Image: eagle.jpg   300x386 20340 bytes 2001.11.11

Inspired by recent events. Poor eagle... :( Poor eagle copyright 2001 Melissa Stanley.

allwolf.jpg
Image: allwolf.jpg   297x430 21634 bytes 2001.11.11

An excessively Photoshopped praying wolf. Copyright 2001 Melissa Stanley, blah, blah, blah, blah.

torchpaw.jpg
Image: torchpaw.jpg   199x500 32614 bytes 2001.11.11

Just your standard torch in paw. Done when I was obsessing about metallic textures in Photoshop. It took a while. The fireball was done in 3D Studio Max, the most evil graphics program I've ever run across. Badly drawn artwork copyright 2000 Melissa Stanley.
