I'm aware that the tongue is...hard to tell its a tongue. But there really isn't an easy way to make it look tonguish.
"Living in the city can be difficult for werewolves, as they prefer quiet, open spaces rather than the small flats and crowded streets of cities. They may stay in urbanized areas for different reasons: some have a regular human life, a job and friends. Due to all of the advantages of living near a city, there is alot of competition over urban areas. Werewolves claiming city territory are typically large and tough, and often have to defend their homes and family from intruders. "

A commission for Spark! His character...Spark...is a wolf with fox coloring. Creative title, no?
This was quite a challenge lighting-wise, but I think its about right now. A making-of has been done and will be uploaded in a little bit...as several people have asked for an updated tutorial, which I simply don't have the time for.

I did an ACEO trade with Bloodhound Omega a year ago...and the card got lost in the mail. So, she let me take a whole year to make it up...so I did a full painting. I hope you like it! I don't know much about the story behind her bloodhounds...but I think that the setting may be appropriate.
I've been DIEING to do a starry sky! And after several months of trying to find a new fur method...I've found it. Tada.
An early progress shot can be seen on my livejournal.

Background is not a photo...heres a closeup at 50% http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v689/myenia/cluseup.jpg
I made this to be a background for my computer.
The background is referenced from a photo my mother took. Thank you God for controlled scribble. The image is shown at 11%...the original is...way to big to comprehend. This had to take well over 50 hours, I've been doing it on and off for 2 months. I still really don't like how flat the rocks in the foreground look, but I've already decided I'm done with this. Other than that, I'm REALLY happy with it!
Feel free to use it as your wallpaper too...but please don't do anything I wouldn't be ok with because this has got to be my most difficult and involved work so far. Thanks!

Orfeus
When I met my current boyfriend, back before we were together, we decided to do a music/art trade...he composed a tuba solo for me. As I asked him more and more specifically what he wanted for this, it turned from just an image into a story.
Orfeus is a weapon summoner, and the last of his kind. He uses his few different weapons by cutting himself on the tattoo with the knife on his belt, and the combination of blood and the magic of the tattoes summons the weapons. A long time ago, Orfeus was decieved, and thrown into the underworld. When he escaped, he broke the seal and let out thousands of fiends, which he now devotes his time to sending back.

For an upcoming calendar project that Zakka and I are organizing.
The idea is a werewolf calendar that will resemble wildlife calendars sold featuring animal photographs. Each month will have a paragraph giving some "information" about werewolves. Watch either of our journals for more information, they will become available for order in October!
"Even though werewolves can pronounce human words in beast form, body language still plays a very important part in their communication, even in human form. Poses, growls and barks can often express more than words do.”

February
For an upcoming calendar project that Zakka and I are organizing.
It will resemble wildlife calendars sold featuring animal photographs. Watch either of our journals, they will become available for order in October! The other artists involved are Yellow-eyes, Sthenno, Coyox, and Rayndancer.
"During mating season in the winter, werewolves will spend even more time with their mate than usual. Werewolves are very affectionate, and will often choose this time of the year for vacation, often to national parks for camping. At home during the winter, the male will become increasingly protective of the female, and will display subordinate body language and behaviour to her. Female werewolves do not go into heat, like their wolf relatives. The two will become practically inseparable.”

Carnivale
So, its supposed to be like, all things Venice. Saint Mark's lion (winged lion) is a symbol of the city, and the mask for the carnival, and the violin for the music.
This was done for the free-topic part of the TRR contest. It is slightly different, in that I sent the unfinished version, barely making the deadline by 2 minutes. I am still not happy with it, I wanted to do a whole ton of detail on the mask, but, I've been killing myself to get this done. Since this is just about all I got to put on the contest entry, I didn't add much more.
To violinists: I'm sorry! I'm a musician, but I only took half a semester of violin, so whatever mistakes I made, SORRY! I'd like to see you draw a tuba.

Deep in the Heart of Texas
The stars at night
Are big and bright....
For those of you who arent from the best place in the world: Texas is covered in blankets of wildflowers in the spring. The blue ones are the bluebonnet, the state flower, the red are my favorite, the indian paintbrush. The feather in the coyote's hair is a mockingbird feather, which is also the Texas state bird.
Wow, this took me forever. One of my layers is titled "layer 62." They do not actually number that high in the finished file, because I was constantly merging, but that just shows the minimum that I dealt with. Other than that, I'm not too happy about how the flowers in the distance look, but am very happy with the abalone in her hair .

The Necromancer
Yay pensil, and my first coyote! I needed the practice. I actually like this, despite many things. Anatomy and such is fine..balance is a bit funky and I discovered magic never looks good in black and white. This was originally going to be full-body but I couldn't find a good position for the legs.
The thing across the bottom is the crow spirit, being summoned back. Coyotes seem to have a natural talent with practicing magic, and travel around sharing their services.
Pensil on matt board, not sure on the size...so I'll guess. I guess its about 15X9 inches.

Edit:WOOPS! Yea thats supposed to say 4'11", not 4'1".
I was way overdue for a character sheet, so here it is.
I did not do fur detail...this is what my art looks like the step before I finish up with fur. It was just too much effort for something that would be so small.
Yay for 2 characters in one.
If you are doing a trade with me...I prefer you do her as a werewolf...less details to misunderstand.

Korbachi Tral and Treas
A commission for a game being developed by SquareAtom, of two different canine anthro species. The Korbachi tral have a haughty sense of a pride and often appear smug. They should look more refined than bestial, though they should still look dangerous. The Korbachi treas appear more wolfish than their cousins the Trals, which is mainly reflected in the appendages and extremities. Their hands look more like paws, and the actual “foot” is extremely similar to a wolf’s paw.

Oh, I have been waiting to scan this for like 2 months. I put alot of effort into this and am pretty proud of it. The sides are all cut off a bit, because I wasnt scanning at home, I was at kinkos. Im especially happy with the cactus . He's a Luhkazti warrior, painted and adorned for a fight.
I would really appreciate criticism..especially as to the painting aspect...if it looks choppy or chunky or the fur or whatever. I know about the anatomy mistakes. I really enjoy doing acrylic paintings.
