Commission for Tevildo of one of his characters, Hazel, as the High Priestess from a Tarot card Deck. This one has a few issues, but I still really like how it came out.

There's tons of things I could still do with this, but I just needed to be done with it, and I think it looks fairly nice as it is.

This was drawn, inked, and about halfway colored at FC06 in one of Yao Chi's sketchbooks-- then it sat, sad and unloved, on top of my printer for three months. Finally, wanting to get the book back to him before Califur, I dug it back out, decided it was actually a lot cuter than I remembered, and finished it up. Unfortunately I was not able to salvage the light source, so please excuse the disjointed lighting. =)

meran.jpg

The final Meran illustration, commissioned by R Korol. Meran is one of the characters in her comic, "Native." Check it out at http://netivecomic.com

A note to the moderators- I know you work very hard doing what you do, and despite my frustrations, I do appreciate that. Please let me note that I chose to leave the watercolor 'edges' on this image for an aesthetic purpose- that being the fact that I like how those edges look. I could have very easily cropped them out, but chose not to.

yale.jpg

I finally got a good scan of this! Check in my WIPs folder for progress work on this!

"the yale was an antelope-like beast about the size of a horse with tusks, long horns, and the tail of a lion or goat. The horns were able to swivel independently and are virtually always shown parted rather than parallel. It was first described by Pliny."

My entry to Rose Quoll's contest. I went all out on this one, and had a lot of fun with it. I hope she likes it! =D

Garlic still life. Painter. The actual -painter- part only took about 6-7 hours, but the drawing took a long time, so the total was probably around 13 or 14 hours. Perez may send me bact to fix things on this, if he does, I'll move this one to wips.

I drew this at Dragoneer's request as a follow-up gag for the April first Llama joke. He added the text.

Just a quick study of a hyena's face, from photo reference. Playing with color more than anything, I see a lot of anatomical errors now. I spent about an hour on this, and I'd like to start doing these quick paintings more often, good practice. =)

Blah. I kinda like this, but I really wish I'd had more time on it. Maybe one day when I have more time to play with it, I'll revisit this one. =P

The 'final' illustration, which will be turned in tomorrow. This is actually very different from what I'd intended it to be. I wish I had time to do a second set of pages, with the more cartoony version of the characters. Oh well, when you've got deadlines, you've got to just do what you can, and can the rest, as my dad would say.

I left this one somewhat larger than the wip versions, for more detail and hopefully so the text will be somewhat legible. Next time I do one of these, I'm going to make sure I write larger. =)

Random giftart for Kaput otter- plus an excuse for me to play around with a slightly different illustrator technique. =)

cori.jpg

Saving this killed the colors. =( This was a computer illustration assignment- a portrait in Illustrator. This is Cori, one of my old roommates. I enjoy illustrator, but it's really frustrating sometimes. 0_0

bats.jpg
Image: bats.jpg   700x750 75204 bytes 2006.02.10

Our first 'real' project in my computer Illustration class this semester was to use Illustrator to do three related icons/spot Illustrations. I chose Bats for my series because I have recently come to be very fond of bats and I haven't done much bat drawing in the past. The colors on these are optimized for printing, not for web, so I apologise if the colors look a little odd. After our critique, I realized that I really needed to bump up the contrast a lot more just so these guys would be VISIBLE! Please do not use without permission.

Panel 1/5 of a project called "Sequential Illustration." Unlike comics, we were not allowed to use Text, and the last panel had to be a 'surprise ending.' I chose to base mine loosely off an aesop's fable about a lion with a thorn in his paw.
