When searching for love, you can never be quite sure about what you're gonna find at the other end of that attractive lure.

This is my anthro angler fish-boy. Yes, I know that male angler fish are teeny-tiny and spend most of their lives physically attached to the females... but hey, he looks cool!

Ok... I think I'm going a bit overboard on the black ink lately... since the Microns that I got three weeks ago are dying already. >.<

Three blind mice...

bondagebunny.jpg
Image: bondagebunny.jpg   513x413 42887 bytes 2004.03.18

This started out as a sketch on my Chinese Culture class notes... but I liked it enough to ink it. ^.^;; I must have bondage on the mind, lately.

Ok, so this is my kitty-girl, colored. Originally, I lothed the coloring so much, I was getting ready to just tear this up. However, I think the background bubbles really grounds the color of her, makes them seem less "out there."

boysloveflowers.jpg
Image: boysloveflowers.jpg   381x480 67374 bytes 2004.09.05

All boys, no matter how old or jaded, love flowers.

Ok, so maybe they don't. Not being a boy, I'm not really in a position to say. But MY boys all love flowers. This is my kitty-boy, Deiyei, looking oh-so cute and innocent, playing with the flowers. Yes, I know neko-boys are cliched and overdone, but I love my Dei-baby. He's so fun to play. I should stick him in a comic sometime... if I ever do one that has othercreatures in it.

More playing with colored pencils, this time on blue pastel paper. The sheer amount of effort it took to get the pigment into the grain of the paper made my fingers hurt sooooo badly. I think I'm getting better at this.

Ah, Anthrocon, the gift that keeps on giving. Yet another of my commissioners came through and sent me a scan of the work I did for them in the artist alley.

And this one totally made my day. This guy is the one who actually bought my "Pick a Card" print from the art show last year and this year, he came to me asking for a con badge. Unusually for a furry convention, he doesn't have a fursona at all, he just likes to get random animals on badges. So the Buddy rabbit was born. This scan in NO way does the original badge justice. It's actually silver, red, and black color pencil on black paper, so the entire thing is shiny and metallic and neat looking.

Well, not only did I feel like drawing a centaur... but a female one. Every once in a while, I just feel like drawing pretty curves that *cough* uh, aren't in some pretty boy's long hair. This was a bit of an experiment, because I liked the sketchiness of the original pencil lines, so I didn't ink over them. And I'm not disappointed with the result, even if very few of the original pencil lines ended up still visible. Ah well. ;)

catbookmark.jpg
Image: catbookmark.jpg   162x486 33825 bytes 2005.08.09

This was the first in a series of four bookmarks I whipped out for the Anthrocon art show. I was in an Office Max looking for conbadge holders, when I saw this package of blank bookmarks, and I couldn't resist. The off-white color was a tiny bit annoying, but other than that, they were very fun to do.

changling.jpg

"Ich liebe dich, mich reizt deine schone Gastalt,
und bist du nicht willig, so brauch' ich Gewalt."

"I love you, your beautiful form delights me!
And if you're not willing, then I'll use force." ~Erlking
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

I'm obviously a big fan of inter-specieal love. *chuckle* I'm not sure exactly WHAT species the changeling is... use your imagination, I guess. I particularly like the spotted fur around his knees and cheeks.

christmas.jpg
Image: christmas.jpg   507x653 135727 bytes 2005.12.21

Ok, so this is my little roleplaying family on Furcadia, enjoying Christmas. And cooincidentally, is my first ever mildly successful group pic, so go me.

christmasdragon.jpg
Image: christmasdragon.jpg   496x406 59042 bytes 2004.03.17

This is my character Deiyei again, this time in chibi/child-like form giving a little christmas present to Tariff the dragon, his lover. Ain't they the cutest things on the planet? *huggles the stuffing out of them*

comeinside.jpg
Image: comeinside.jpg   405x519 55461 bytes 2004.05.27

Yeah, it's been a while since I've done one of these. I think I should do them more often... I dunno how interesting they are to actually look at, but they're fun as hell to draw. There's just something freeing about sitting down with a sharpee and a blank piece of paper and letting a creature emerge without planning or reason.

coolmom.jpg
Image: coolmom.jpg   404x521 78762 bytes 2004.03.17

This is the second drawing in my "Night Fears" series... and my personal favorite. He's just so cute... in a completely grotesque kind of way.

cuddle.jpg
Image: cuddle.jpg   559x441 64962 bytes 2004.03.17

I don't know if this counts as furry art or not... but this is my character Deiyei with his black dragon lover, Tariff. The thing I'm most proud about this picture is that I got their size difference about right. Dei is only about five feet tall... and Riff is fifteen.

dancingupdated.jpg
Image: dancingupdated.jpg   329x426 39071 bytes 2004.03.17

This is just me trying out my brand spankin' new gold metallic sharpees. And let me just say... *squeeee!*

This really does look much better when you actually see the physical thing, because it's all neat and shiney. My sister ended up walking away with it at our white elephant gift exchange... so at least it's in good hands now. *laugh*

danikitty.jpg
Image: danikitty.jpg   386x640 97955 bytes 2006.08.27

Ok, this is my entry for Dani-Kitty's contest. The theme of the contest is to draw her character in an alternate setting or universe... so I drew her as in a traditional Chinese painting.

I gave her a more human-ish face to try to fit in more with the traditional style that figures tended to be painted in. And she's a little more slender possibly than the character should be, but I whenever I tried to make her look more curvy, it ended up not looking traditional enough for my tastes. Ah well. ^.^;;

Dani-Kitty belongs to... yeah, Dani-Kitty. ;)

darkvictorian.jpg
Image: darkvictorian.jpg   381x555 78638 bytes 2004.07.23

This started out as me just fooling around, and twenty minutes of crappy sketch later, something finally comes out that I'm somewhat happy with.

My sister says that this looks like a naked Victorian goth kitty-boy gardener. ^.^;; I wasn't going for the whole "granny gardener" look, but damn if it didn't turn out that way. *laugh*

deivalentine.jpg
Image: deivalentine.jpg   363x503 79898 bytes 2004.03.17

This is a valentine I created featuring my character, Deiyei.

Delman.jpg
Image: Delman.jpg   364x516 63738 bytes 2005.07.04

This is a drawing of my character Deiyei's slave on Furcadia, Delman. Isn't he cuuuuute? Del belongs entirely to his player, I'm just borrowing him. ;)

desertlove.jpg
Image: desertlove.jpg   379x490 56231 bytes 2004.03.18

This looks much better in real life... since I once again gave in to the temptation of metallic sharpees. ^.^;; Greatest invention of mankind, those things.

I'm trying to work color back into my art... since all the time I've spent perfecting my inking techniques, it seems like I've almost forgotten how to do color. I guess this is because I've never really liked doing computer coloring, but my inking style hasn't lent itself to marker very well. *sigh*

Must... find... happy... medium...

desertrains.jpg

Bring April flowers... and cougar-chicks taking advantage of the cooling downpour to enjoy a nice, open aired shower.

expectations.jpg
Image: expectations.jpg   433x556 79858 bytes 2004.10.18

Ok, yes... I'm smack dab in the middle of another artist's block. I hope it goes away soon. The only thing I could make myself draw was this little Night Fear. Cute, ain't he?

Fighter.jpg
Image: Fighter.jpg   384x481 69140 bytes 2005.11.29

When I was a kid, the only pets my mother would let me have were fish... and they had to be hardy, cold water fish. Which gave me the choice between goldfish and the Japanese fighting fish. Guess which one I chose?

Of course, after I'd finished sketching him out and coloring him, it hit me. "Dammit... I should have drawn him attacking his own reflection!" Ah well... next time.

flaredancer.jpg
Image: flaredancer.jpg   512x656 104683 bytes 2006.06.12

Yes, so I'm finally back home from living five months in China and trying to catch up on finishing all the sketches I started there, to wait for the day when I was home and once again had access to my art supplies. This one is kinda, well, I knew I had a panel in the adult art show at AC that needed filling, so I decided to try out a male nude. I forget if this was before or after I visited the gay sex street in Bangkok, however. ^.^;; Logic dictates that it'd be after, but you never know with me. *cough cough*

foxy.jpg
Image: foxy.jpg   424x591 79986 bytes 2006.06.13

This was me playing with my new brush pen. Which kinda got away from me a little, but hey, the overall effect isn't bad, is it? I haven't drawn the creepier stuff in a little while and I kinda missed it. I'm thinking it might make a good t-shirt design.

foxyhart.jpg
Image: foxyhart.jpg   447x560 62962 bytes 2006.06.14

Think I'm finally getting a hold of this gouche thing. This fox was inspired by the costume my roommate wore to the party of another student there in Chengdu. Not that it was a costume party, of course, but we decided arbitrarily that we were going to go in costume, whether it was or not.

She borrowed a bunch of my clothing and went as a gangster witch (I was a high-class house witch), complete with the hat, collar and a shiny and all too real looking silver shotgun. The costume was a big hit and it inspired me to draw it, inspired by her saucy image.

Your guardian angel is closer than you think.

hero.jpg
Image: hero.jpg   426x525 77529 bytes 2005.03.30

Ok, this is gonna be my submission to the AC conbook. The theme this year is, you guessed it, "Heros." When I sat down to think of what I wanted to do, I was having a hard time not falling into the cliche trap that a geek like me is prone to fall in... by drawing yet another bat Batman or generic superhero. I couldn't think of anything even remotely original until I was sitting about, complaining about my lack of inspiration to my sister. At which point, she went, "You know... the only hero I ever had when we were growing up was Mom." And that made me do a double take, because dammit if she isn't right. Mom is STILL kind of my hero. So, I thought, who's more important to a child when he's hurt or sick? Why, his mommy, of course.
