You know, as much as I admire furry artists, I always seem to like drawing boys that are mostly human, with just a few animalistic traits. This is a lightly speckled horse-boy, sitting on a cliff by the sea... in the moonlight.

This started out as a sketch in my "pretending I give a flying fuck about contemporary art" sketchbook... but I liked it so much that I had to take it home and fully render it while watching 28 Days Later with my roommates.

And you know what inspired this particular bit of madness? My teacher, blathering on about everything OTHER than contemporary art (like usual), happened to say, "You know me. I am who I am." And given that I think that she's an absolute LOON, this is what I got out of that.

Yes, I'm fucked up. But I am who I am.

This is the second of the gifts that I've decided to draw for my friends in an attempt to alleviate my artist's block. All Jen said was that she wanted something twisted. And I hope that this is twisted enough.

And if I don't get at least one flame for this drawing, then I'll be horribly disappointed. ;)

Ok, I'll admit, I was having just a bit too much fun with the color in the figure. When I originally drew him, I hadn't intended to make him all psychadellic pink and purple looking, but don't you ever get tired of just straight ol' yellow or grey big cats? Well, this is the, uh... rare purple and blue spotted jungle cat! Hug one today.

Yes... I'm having a bored night. And while I was complaining about how bored I was to my sister, Ami noMiko. She suggested we network on OC together, and this is the result. ^.^;;

I totally took over the entire canvas... the cute little shell-shocked looking froggy is hers. The giant bunny-man is mine, obviously. *cough* I'll let her take over next time. It's always a mistake to say to me, "why don't you just start with one of your bondage bunny-men?" when you don't know what to draw. *looks sheepish* I tend to go overboard.

I bought me some new black paper to play with... and this is my first drawing on it. I actually didn't have very many color pencils... just a few left over from early art classes... but I did remember a gem. I had a few metallic color pencils tucked away in a box, so I drug them out.

Good thing about the metallics: they look absolutely awesome on the black paper in person.

Bad thing about the metallics: they scan funny. They pick up the light TOO much, thus the uber-bright colors on the scan. It's still kinda interesting to look at, but it's nowhere near as cool looking as the original.

Ah well. This was really just a test, after all, since I've never drawn on dark paper before. All in all, I'm fairly pleased with the results.

This is a T-shirt design I've been fiddling with. I've decided that I really like the flat-tone coloring of the boy and that the caption should be "My inner child is a Kitten."

*chuckle* Yet another drawing that I'll be incredibly disappointed if I don't get even one flame for the sucker. ;) Before you ask, no I'm not religious and I have no real problem with religious people (as long as they leave me the hell alone.) I've just made it a tradition to always draw my sister one of my moth-eaten bunny boys on Easter, and I love this quote from The Family Guy.

Copic multi-liner pens are happy, I tell you. I've never been able to pull off such delicate linework before. This is the b&w version of this drawing, a color version will most likely be forthcoming.

This is a bit of a plea from myself to both the furry and anime/yaoi communities. Why can't we all just get along? *laugh*

This, once again, is my kitty-boy, Deiyei. This drawing actually has the distinction of being the first picture I've ever done outside of a life-drawing class where the boy actually has a visable penis. *Shrug* It's not that I have anything against the nude male figure, I've just never really felt like drawing it before now.

I'm also desperately trying to figure out this computer color thing. I dunno... it may be a lost cause. It takes me forever, and it still ends up looking as mediocre as ever. >.<

A bookmark commission of the character, Nova. I really do like doing these bookmarks, but they do look a million times better in person. I finally got the bright idea to go to a craft store and buy a bunch of little fabric flowers and sewed one onto the blood-red tassle.

This took me three days to finish, and I can't figure out why. Usually when I get to the inking stage, I hit a lovely almost meditative state and it moves fairly quickly. But that didn't happen this time. Maybe it's because I've been so bloody tired. Perhaps I really should look into a multi-vitamin. O.o

This was the third in a series of four bookmarks I whipped out for the Anthrocon art show. I was in an Office Max looking for conbadge holders, when I saw this package of blank bookmarks, and I couldn't resist. The off-white color was a tiny bit annoying, but other than that, they were very fun to do.

One of the very few pieces of fanart that I've ever done. One of my friends wanted me to draw him a piece of Ranma fanart with a furry Ranma. Now, I haven't watched Ranma in yeeeeeears, but I guess it's still identifiable.

This is actually about six months old, since my friend took it home with him after Anthrocon, but he just now got his scanner hooked up. But I guess it's still decent. *laugh*

Ok, this is Tariff again, with my character, Deiyei. It's a gift for my friend Nick, the owner of Tariff, since I realised that I haven't drawn the sadistic black dragon for him in quite a while. And it pays to keep your friends happy, eh?

In the sunlit morning, surrounded by the whisper of a warm wind through long grass and trees, the lure of him seemed irresistable, his voice sweet and inviting. The little voice within him that warned of the danger, of their differences, grew quieter and quieter... until it was silenced altogether with a light touch of delicate fingers to a soft cheek.

This is my sketch dragon again, only with some artful inverting. I find that I tend to be drawn to pictures with more black in them... must be the hidden goth in me.

This was the last in a series of four bookmarks I whipped out for the Anthrocon art show. While in Chengdu, I found a whole bunch of cheap canvas board (something impossible to get here in Reno), so that inspired me to try my hand at painting again. There was a stationary store every fifteen feet there, so I walked down one day on a whim and bought some gouche. I'd never used this kind of paint before, and I'll admit that I fought with it a great deal, since I'm more used to either acrylics or watercolors... not some strange medium that was kind of in between the two, more forgiving than watercolor, but less than acrylics. *laugh*

So this was my first attempt. I LOVE how the sky came out, and I'm quite pleased with the top half of the cougar. Everything else, uh... well, it was a learning experience? ;)

Yet another picture of my Furcadian kitty-boy, Deiyei. I really love how this turned out, I was experimenting with a softer style of coloring with the Prismacolors and it really created a nice, softer, sleepy-like look.

Anthrocon this year was a real blast... I didn't make as much as I normally do, art-wise, but what commissioners I did get were really wonderful. So wonderful, in fact, that when I arrived home yesterday, I found this scan waiting for me in my email inbox. This is the first time one of them has ever actually scanned the work I did for them at a con and sent it to me.

This was a drawing a very nice boy commissioned for his girlfriend, featuring his fursona in a sort of yaoi asthetic ideal. Apparently both he and she were very happy with the result, which makes ME happy.

So yes... I was feeling rather burnt out when I drew this. I'd been working so hard on my NaNoMangO pages, and even though I was still far behind, I was really hurting for some nice, simple pinup cheese. *chuckle* And so I did this... it didn't hurt that I was pissed off at someone on a forum at the time, either. And look, color! That's right, I do use color every once in a while. Er... when the moon is blue and the north star is in the east quadrant... or something.

This is a conbadge I did for Terzy for a trade at AC. We ended up never managing to actually get to one another before she had to head home, but that's all right. It meant I could take it home and finally have a scanned example of what the conbadges I draw at conventions look like.

This is a gift for a friend of mine of her character on Furcadia, Tpulicath. Yes, they are both the same person, she's a gender shifter. And the male version is sporting her bleached, rutting colors. Largely ink and copic markers with little accents in color pencil.

This one was me playing around over Thanksgiving... though I've just now gotten around to scanning it. Suprisingly enough, given how much I enjoy unicorns, this is the first time I've drawn an anthro one. I should do it more often, they're fun.
