I had to eventually redo Aratax's look, now that I was doing a different mouth-style. I like the look.
| Image: pho_scratchdance.jpg
354x488 41334 bytes 2006.07.26
Scratch (On left) and a random furry NPC (on right), dancing at a rave durring a break in the action. Randomness.
| Image: pho_croac2005.jpg
313x452 24272 bytes 2006.07.26
A quick (poor) pic I did of my friend Crocuta, leaning over the rail at AC. Posture is bad, especially his right arm (Was working against the edge of the page).
| Image: pho_amondskinchange.jpg
355x577 60998 bytes 2006.07.26
From RP. Amond, this time as female, taking the skin of a victim. This isn't only a trophy; after a deal with a demon, she has aquired the ability to actually take the form of another person, if she wears their skin.
| Image: pho_dralekgeneral.jpg
295x581 51426 bytes 2006.07.21
NPC from RP. This is a member of Aratax's elite guard, some 5000 of the best soldiers from his lands, clad in striking armor that truely makes them stand out above the rest. Arranged in a phalanx formation, even other dragons couldn't hope to engage in melee. This particular dralek is the general of the elite guard, as denoted by the golden bar on the horn-tabbard and rubies inset in his armor.
| Image: pho_newheads.jpg
334x535 28826 bytes 2006.07.21
Trying to figure out the way to draw better mouth-structures for Phoenix and Terika. I like the middle one the most, even if it has some flaws.
| Image: pho_gradden.jpg
358x622 53962 bytes 2006.07.21
A very nasty NPC, Graden is a violent, bloody type, who loves shredding and eating people, and doing dirty, dirty things with them as he does it. Practically a furry Terika, minus the power. Not surprisingly, a player summoned him into the world, and got to deal with the fun of that one...
| Image: pho_gooddogACS.jpg
289x343 25524 bytes 2006.07.21
Not exactly furry, but it goes with the SF setting, and I've had far too many people look at it and exclaim "Puppy!" This "puppy" is actually a Striker ACS (Autonomous Combat Shell), and older model ACS previously used by the US armed forces. First-world countries typically use ACSs instead of bioform (Biological, iee. human) troops, as being both less costly in manpower, and more reliable and effective.
| Image: pho_scratch.jpg
335x533 30178 bytes 2006.07.21
RP character. Scratch was a human who had various modifications done (Head strucual realignment, tail-graft, and dermal nano-virus modification) to resemble an anthro cat. She is also crazy. Not legaly, perhaps, but she likes to play up the cat side, and has no real concept of the consequences of her actions. Impulsive is far too mild of a word. And they gave her automatic weapons.
| Image: pho_gizmo.jpg
340x405 40179 bytes 2006.07.21
Another character from my unfortunately short-lived SF campaign. Gizmo is a Techo, an advanced mechanical/electrical repair bioroid derived heavily from geckos, and about 3 feet tall. They're somewhat obsolete, however, being replaced by more advanced repair robots like the one behind him, and by micro repair hives and other adaptive swarm systems.
| Image: pho_amond.jpg
229x427 19305 bytes 2006.07.21
Friend's character in one of my RPs. Amond, a truely evil serial-killer type. Also gifted with the ability to change genders in just a few moments, useful for hiding from investigators. As a note, I really need reference pics before trying to draw a new species.
| Image: pho_griaandonyxia.jpg
291x315 27104 bytes 2006.07.21
Gria talking with her master, Onyxia. As you can see, he is still fairly young, and therefor not too much larger than her.
| Image: pho_onyxialeap.jpg
619x352 37747 bytes 2006.07.21
This is Onyxia. No, not the one in World of Warcraft. Yes, he is named after her (And yes, HE). Don't blame me, it's my friend's character! :> Made for my dragon-campaign. Onyxia is pretty reckless but very effective character. How reckless? His favored tactic is a full-speed ballistic drive and sharp pull-up to slam into a vulnerable enemy (He hit a mage like that once. Left a nice stain). Also demonstrates the strength of the GURPS system in general; his most effective initial attack is a pounce/tackle, grapple, and close combat, rather than just the basic, repetitive attack, attack, attack...
| Image: pho_speciescompare.jpg
620x341 62875 bytes 2006.07.21
When I started up my dragon campaign, I wanted to show off the size of all the creatures. Here you can see dragons, in four stages of growth (The human-sized hatchling, adolescent, adult, and t-rex-sized ancients), as well as (From left to right) male graget, makel (Giants), dralek (lizardment), female graget, gnoll, human, ogre, and gargoyle. And this is relatively few sapient species for a fantasy campaign...
| Image: pho_iamnotpleased.jpg
585x329 40943 bytes 2006.07.21
A random dralek (lizardman) servant who has apparantly displeased his master. My first real attempt at doing a more realistic mouth structure for reptile-like creatures, which I stuck with for a while before figuring out how to get them looking right (It gets better, really)
| Image: pho_kish.jpg
357x597 39593 bytes 2006.07.21
An NPC from an RP campaign, Kish is rather on the dim side, but also rather overactive and even occassionally silly. Still, he is very useful, particularly as a messenger and scout.
| Image: pho_griahunting.jpg
352x571 37892 bytes 2006.07.21
Gria, a gnoll, off hunting while she isn't serving her master (A dragon). From an RP campaign I'm running.
| Image: pho_lightbringeroutfit.jpg
346x612 39826 bytes 2006.07.21
The first real drawing of the character Lightbringer, from a SF story I'm working on. Believe it or not, she is technically human... Albeit, a human who has had a substantial amount of bio-modification surgery to appear as she imagined herself.
| Image: pho_phoandterika01.jpg
350x617 58949 bytes 2006.07.21
The front page of my first true sketchbook, and a bit over a year old as of this posting. I just wanted to show off the book's owners; Me, Phoenix, and my demon, Terika. And yeah, I am probably the only person who could get away with lounging on Terika like that!
| Image: pho_xenoscs01.jpg
515x610 49072 bytes 2005.03.27
These are just some concept/design sketches for a project I'm contemplating. Top is the TAL-30 assault rifle (With suppressor and grenade launcher, just to show its accessories). Despite looking quite nice by modern standards, it's considered in the same way the AK-47 is now; a third-world weapon, outdated, but very rugged. On the right is Joseph, an ex-special-ops bioroid. On the left is Keres, a "ghost" (Someone, in this case human, who's had their brain uploaded into a computer), with a fairly advanced (And incredibly expensive) cybershell body.
| Image: pho_terikacrohunting.jpg
1024x748 70686 bytes 2005.02.19
Cro decides to go on the offensive and hunt down Terika. He's got good tactical ability, and nice equipment, but I have the feeling he should have brought something a little more powerful than an MP5. Like a howitzer.
| Image: pho_tradickandceles.jpg
1024x749 127201 bytes 2005.02.12
Yep, very messy. These two tend to be that way.
| Image: pho_tradickplayrough.jpg
700x958 128626 bytes 2005.01.28
Tradick LIKES playing rough! Looks like this other fur doesn't mind too much, either.

| Image: pho_teridethdefiler.jpg
1024x747 147585 bytes 2005.01.28
Two of my friend's characters. On top is Terideth, who durring his "adventures" became first part-dragon, then part-demon, then had lots of bad things happen to him. On bottom is Defiler, who used to be a mortal being (Despite dying a few times) that killed the original Defiler and became a minor god... They're both pretty warped, enough that they're both really enjoying this.

1024x750 64473 bytes 2005.01.14
Daniel, having climbed to the roof of an adjacent (And easily accessed) tenement, now judges the gap between him and the roof of a townhouse across the narrow street. He isn't sure exactly what's inside it, but anyone who can afford to employ multiple guards through the night must have something of value.. :)

| Image: pho_terideth2.jpg
900x582 57476 bytes 2005.01.14
Found this old drawing of Terideth, so I finished it up and colored it. It seems rather lacking to me, though. Simple layout, no background, and a lot of wasted space. Oh well, the drawing -was- well over a year old, anyway...
| Image: pho_slavehunt.jpg
1024x635 105069 bytes 2005.01.14
Finally got around to coloring this one for my friend. Kinda simple, but I like having all those characters.
| Image: pho_tradickselfscrew.jpg
287x359 24126 bytes 2005.01.14
Silly little pic of Tradick screwing him/herself. I got bored and colored it up real quick one night.
| Image: pho_upliftfirefight.jpg
1024x744 129334 bytes 2004.12.31
Uplift light infantry engaged in a firefight on Bagrin.
| |
| Image: pho_wetlizard.jpg
638x875 86532 bytes 2004.12.31
For some reason, I felt like drawing a stereotypical pinup pose. And for some reason, I ended up making it really tricky to color, with reflections, back-lighting, and light-flare. But I had fun with it :)
