Another commission, Salem & a couple of friends as characters from "The Great Gatsby." (don't ask) Referenced from a movie still, done in pen & ink with Prismacolor markers.
743x647 68750 bytes 2008.07.04
A couple characters from a novel I wrote last year. (these are the bad guys). Markers with digital background color.
614x844 63927 bytes 2005.03.11
Another illo from the extinct bird article. I forget what the name of this one is, but it's related to pelicans.
690x933 96147 bytes 2006.08.13
A picture from the cover of a comic released at Anthrocon. Jack Salem's occational partner-in-crime, Harpy. Looking a lot more noble and intelligent than she actually is. Done mostly in Prismacolor pencils, with some ink and paint.
572x867 77093 bytes 2008.07.04
From FC 2008, based on some picture I found in a fashion magazine. I could never wear high heels, myself. Watercolor.

1064x704 53240 bytes 2006.01.25
A colored illustration from Game of Kings.
1109x744 100456 bytes 2005.03.11
An illo from the new story I'm working on. The final version will be toned in greyscale. Sometimes what looks like an easy target is anything but...
713x812 47690 bytes 2006.01.25
Although I hadn't intended it that way, this image ended up being my 2006 Christmas card. The Lynx really isn't going to eat the cardinal, despite the latter's apprehensive look.

1218x620 50493 bytes 2006.01.25
One of my FC 2006 peices. Trying to find color photos of marlins online resulted in seeing a lot of dead fish and happy fishermen. Done in animation 'cel' format of ink and acrylic paint on acetate.
927x616 53294 bytes 2006.08.13
A gift picture for a generous patron. 6 mustelids, some real, some fanciful. Done in acrylic paint & ink on acetate.
630x407 30310 bytes 2006.06.22
A very happy nighthawk with her eggs. Yes, the feet really are that dinky. Photoshop coloring over a scanned ink drawing.
926x606 81863 bytes 2005.07.12
A picture from AC last year-- some nighthawks and nightjars. Done mostly in markers.
831x733 79879 bytes 2005.01.19
While I was on Christmas vacation I got a book featuring all the parrots of the world. This is an anthro version of one of the world's most elusive and endangered birds-- the Australian night parrot.
486x769 27630 bytes 2005.01.19
Another peice from FC that I forgot to upload yesterday.
810x561 58482 bytes 2005.01.19
Re-uploaded after some background corrections. A plum-headed parakeet thinks the palm cockatoo is being a little too nosey.
632x847 57231 bytes 1999.11.08
1301x644 178767 bytes 2004.07.14
A test to see if I've got this upload process right after not updating for so long. This is Jack Salem, Harpy and a couple of anyonymous victims, from the AC 2004 art show.
926x794 247604 bytes 2005.07.12
I had a lot of fun working on this peice. Various extinct predators. The scale is probably not accurate down to the inch, but is reasonably accurate. Clockwise from top left: Hyenadon, short-faced bear, Andrewsarchus, marsupial lion, powerful kangaroo-rat, marsupial sabertooth, thylacine, and smiladon. I know there's specific scientific names for some of these, but I don't feel like dragging out my books to get the exact spellings. Done in markers, ink & colored pencil.
679x845 96711 bytes 2006.06.22
My totally fangirl homage to Jeff Lynne (of ELO, The Move and the Traveling Wilburys). Done mostly with Prismacolor markers. Also peiced together from a bunch of different scans. I really wish large size scanners didn't cost thousands of dollars. Lyrics copyright 2006 by Jeff Lynne, ect ect.
825x858 73842 bytes 2008.07.04
Another character from the novel, this time the good guy. Markers with digital background color.
523x700 94376 bytes 2005.03.11
Usually I don't like most of the pictures I do at cons, but this one actually came out reasonably good. A caracal goes "glomph" on an unlucky bird. Done at ConiFur a couple years ago.
601x815 98957 bytes 2005.06.18
A sketchbook drawing for Skorzy, done a few years ago at AnthroCon. Usually I hate how my con sketches come out, but this one wasn't too bad.
692x778 135446 bytes 2005.06.18
A Black Spiral Dancer from the latest online Rage expansion.
784x958 81172 bytes 2005.03.11
Another con picture, this time of David Hopkin's Drip running into one of my characters. Their exchange won't make any sense unless you're familiar with both our work, but hopefully the picture looks interesting regardless if it's understood or not.
