Ozean von Drachen
I hope I remember my German correctly when I use it to name things. >_>; Native speakers feel free to correct me when I'm wrong!
I still can't decide if I hate this image or not. I think it tends to get muddy from afar, but that's probably because it's nigh impossible to have a lot of contrast when you have a blue dragon on blue/gray ocean.
This was an experiment with a new medium I have of mine. I think next time I'll be using it in moderation and it doesn't quite work like you might think. The entire thing is covered in an iridescent medium, with the colors placed transparently on top. Thankfully it seems to glitter only as the image is turned, though if one shines a light straight at it the stupid thing is nearly blinding.

Lupis Everto
When completely drawing a blank or the character doesn't yet have a name...always turn to Latin. "Wolf Demon".
This is a trade half for Solstice, of a demon guy she's been daydreaming of lately. I tried a more scribbly style and it actually looks pretty cool to me. <_<

Vitium
This is a 19x24 bristol piece done with red ink, charcoal, a little black conte, and a little white acrylic.
I wanted to do a piece of Despair in abipedal body, since I tend to draw her quadrupedal and quite beastly. She is a female, though this isn't very easy to discern most of the time.
While working through this particular picture, I find that I really...REALLY don't have much patience with art. Maybe patience isn't the right word... I usually find myself blazing through a piece of artwork, working as fast as I can to bring the way the image feels to the surface. as a result, I tend to have very rough work if left to my own devices. I could do insanely smooth pencil work, yet I find it just isn't as satisfying when I can still get something across in a less refined way.

I wanted to try drawing a giraffe man. I think he looks pretty neat. :P I blame the exaggerated musculature on the exaggerated forms of 16th century Italian art.
Also, I wanted to draw something hot(Temperature and color wise).
11x14 marker. Somali Giraffes are better known as Reticulated Giraffes.

If I had to name this guy, he'd be called Blinding Fortune. Because eastern dragons are supposed to bring fortune/be fortunate...but my god is he bright.
11x14" bristol and marker. Not a terribly interesting drawing, but it kept my hands busy. I enjoy drawing eastern type dragons a fair amount, it just seems that I never finish them.

A slightly annoyed rams-horned tiger listens to a dragon girl's stories. Whether they're from the book or not is in question.
Marker. Marker marker marker. And HOLY CRIPES A BACKGROUND. A few things I tried: Atmospheric perspective, storybook clouds, and water that looks like water. And plants that aren't detailed, yet recognizably plants. I kinda like the red-blossomed clover patches.

Iridium is my 'me' dragon, though her character isn't deep and serious like Sakara's is. If I want to draw dragons or imagine what it would be like to be one, I usually pick her. The green one I named Malachite and while mine, he's Josh(my boyfriend) affiliated.
I miss him. :{
Their scales have shimmery, iridescent highlights that sparkle as you turn the artwork to different angles. I may make this a print if people show interest, but if I do I'll get it done in town so I can add the correct iridescent accents.

Not my best illustration. I futzed a lot of things in it because I was trying new things, but the idea behind it was alright. I'm never using masking liquid ever again with this particular jar of ink, it smears pink and just...ugh. Even when DRY it would smear pink. I'm also investing in an x-acto knife with an edge so I can properly scrape out pigment when I make mistakes.
Scuppernongs are a subspecies of a Muscadines, which are a type of wild grape native to the southeastern US. I was just introduced to them in the last week or two at work and they're delicious. It's also a nod to TayMonkey and her opossum man, Muskydyne Keelmaker.

'Mohan' is one of the founding ancestors of the white tiger lines found in captive breeding programs throughout the world.
I find their intentional breeding to be highly unethical, particularly when not done so carefully to avoid inevitable inbreeding issues, but that has never phased my love of them.
White tigers were the first creatures I ever adored, for as long as I can remember and they're still my favorite even now. My favorite subspecies is the Siberian, but to my knowledge there aren't any pure Siberian lines that occasionally display this trait.
This cute adolescent is painted on 5.5x15" watercolor paper. The background is washed blue and gold iridescent ink. I sealed it and then used some acrylic paint as a painting practice/experiment. Not too awful for two hours. :3

I actually drew and inked the image over the weekend(Sunday I think?). While I had masked it down after I did that part, I didn't get to it until tonight.
Very appropriately, it has poured all day today. I wanted to do something for me again, something somber.
I tried a new painting technique. I washed the entire page in a single color(Payne's Gray), then took Cobalt Blue and shaded in all the shadow areas, as well as the umbrella. I used Payne's Gray for Sakara's fur and washed right over her nose and other areas. It looks REALLY cool. I used white ink to add the highlights on her hair and face.
For the background I masked the whole thing off and basically just made a delightfully splattery mess. Remove the tape and voila! Pretty cool rain effects.
About 3.5 hours of work.

Due to someone wanting to use Sakara as his...erm, logo in a media production class, I have created this random tiger's head that also happens to be blue-eyed and grey so I don't have my personal character plastered on a projector screen somewhere.
This image may be used for CLASSROOM USE ONLY. Educational non-profit is ok, but it may not be reprinted as a club logo, t-shirt, pamphlet(Unless an example pamphlet for class), or anything else involving mass redistribution. If you would like to use this image, please EMAIL ME or NOTE ME FIRST.
...every time I get people wanting to use my artwork I get more worried about its misuse. :/

Doppelte Drachen
"Double Dragons" in German. Because I REALLY suck at titles for non-serious work. The top dragon is extremely strongly reminiscent of my female dragon Iridium, but she lacks the black markings and Iridium is always paired with a red/black dragon named Niobium, instead of the unnamed green male below. So while this was supposed to just be a watercolor doodle/practice thing, I guess one could call them Iridium's parents or some other ancestor.
5.5x15" watercolor paper, watercolor(duh), and black acrylic ink to cover up a horrid looking background mistake.

This is Alix, a hybrid between brass dragons and a leonine race. I took a fair amount of artistic liberties with the character, trying hard to blend the idea of dragon and lion together.
I'm fond of his blue tongue. <3 My half of a trade with Anbessa. I hope you like it!

Wow, bet you guys thought I'd never get this one done, huh?
This is a fine example of 'trying too hard'. I kept trying so hard to get something exactly like what Io asked for and thus kept putting off my trade for months. The night I kept trying to get it exact and instead did my own version, it popped right out in about...four, five hours. Motley's pretty rockin' if I do say so myself.
Inks inspired by PseudoManitou. Copic brush pen on 9x12 watercolor cold press paper, watercolors(Winsor and Newton mostly), salt, white ink, and iridescent inks. The silver guitar details, Motley's collar and chain, his hair spikes, and his eyebrows shimmer and strike bright colors at different angles.

A beautiful dapple-gray horse. Was looking for an unusual(For me) species to use for my male practice. I borrowed the pose from my penguin mini for this and I rather like the curviness of it.
8.5x11 cardstock, copic marker, gel pen. Believe it or not, this is my first equine drawn in years. I never was the horse-obsessed girl as a kid, though I certainly loved them.

Last badge for tonight. If I do a badge for one member of a household, I might as well do a badge for another member of the same household. This is for Runihara.
Solt is a deer, I think I did better with the deer features this time. It wasn't in his reference, but I did a more white-tailish nose with the black muzzle markings. Hope it's ok.

A badge for Solstice, as she's going to kindly let me use her laminater for badges and such. The character is a brindled akita mix of some sort, so I hope I at least got the idea of 'brindle' across.

This one is about 3.5x4.5" on bristol, painstakingly cut out with a utility knife and tiny bathroom scissors. The black background is just some cardstock I had lying around to make the badge stand out in my scanner. It'll be laminated over at Solstice's sometime in the near future.
Staedtler pen, Copic marker, and a little silver Prismacolor metallic ink.

I spent a short time out at McDowell park today, which happens to have a large population of blue herons. This one isn't terribly blue heron like(Kinda hard to spot them for markings and detaill when they're wheeling around), but I did have fun making up markings and trying to do something other than my usual weighted inking style.
