Stark Despair

An experiment in contrast. I was doodling to let off stress(Hence the subject matter), but when it came time to take it further I decided to see what would happen if I only inked deep shadow. Lo and behold it looks pretty neat.

A small, photoshopped image of Iori. What started out as a parody of Iori Yagami of SNK, has turned into a violent tigerwolf character who's all mine, Iori Di'Aryo, 'Diego'. Iori is a very difficult character to describe, so I'll let whatever images I upload of him speak for themselves. If you want to know anything in specific, you may email me.

Well, even though he's been shushed a little, he's still a very angry creature. He'll have to see how life goes for awhile.

Was listening to Disturbed's 'New Disease'. Some other things have been making this happen, but yeah.

Pencil, and a spazz attack. I payed no attention to my anatomy, just let the lines and shading fly. So if it's not nice and neat...it ain't supposed to be.

Don't bluff your dominance. Make sure you can back it up.

The wolf is Siri, in her old-style alpha colors.

I have one of two reactions when upset or stressed out:

1)Turn into a nervous wreck that can be destroyed by almost anything, or 2) Get -really- pissed off and rip off /everyone's/ heads. This is a product of the latter.

Doppelte Drachen

"Double Dragons" in German. Because I REALLY suck at titles for non-serious work. The top dragon is extremely strongly reminiscent of my female dragon Iridium, but she lacks the black markings and Iridium is always paired with a red/black dragon named Niobium, instead of the unnamed green male below. So while this was supposed to just be a watercolor doodle/practice thing, I guess one could call them Iridium's parents or some other ancestor.

5.5x15" watercolor paper, watercolor(duh), and black acrylic ink to cover up a horrid looking background mistake.

Odds are, he took that axe from some bimbo who thought he'd be a hero. Lookit that smile, d'awww, who'd want to axe that?

Ahh, you have to start learning somewhere. I wanted to watercolor a dragon at night in the snow. Only random things worked. But I'm glad some worked and I learned what NOT to do for next time.

Well, it was SUPPOSED to be lunging. I screwed up the body by making it too uniform, it should have tapered a great deal to get any sort of perspective. Oh well.

With the above title, I'm not going to have to draw something more fitting. >.> Just a dragon doodle.

It was originally going to be Niobium, but he ended up exceptionally bright, though all the physical features and patterning are correct. I really do love saurian-faced dragons. <3

Inspired by Cirque du Soleil's 'Dralion' performance. IT'S MESSY AND BRIGHT AND NOT MY USUAL AND I LIKE IT DAMMIT. It's a show with a new spin on the chinese circus, the creator describing it as an 'east meets west'. The lion is an important figure to the east, while the (Westernized)dragon to the other side of the world. Brought together to be the performance's namesake.

Duality

For Io, aka Psychopomp16. This was a commission featuring the duality of her character.

In this case, it's fossils as they are and the creatures they become in our imaginations.

It's an early form of Rage, back when he largely resembled Despair and lacked the black flesh/burning fire.

I've got a thing for double horns. Anyway... There are these art auction/project things at the Outer Banks which are fiberglass horses, modeled after the island ponies. They're painted with all sorts of beautiful and interesting themes, some of which are unbelievably cool. One of my favorites was the Egypt themed horse outside the elementary school around the town of Southern Shores, which inspired this not-nearly-as-interesting wonder. I tried to make it look decked out in jewelry...it's hard to tell from this angle, but there's a scarab on its forehead. >.>
