1st Children`s Illustration

Children`s Illustration on 8.5"x11" coquille paper(so the grainyness is intentional). Done with a black Derwent watercolor pencil. For fabrications and materials class. The objective was to illustrate a plushie and create an illustration for kids. My lamp is a little wonky there, but overall I think the composition works. The lines and diagonals bring attention to the cat plushie. The perspective is wonky, I should have used a vanishing point indeed. Why I didn't, I dont know!

The Dominant Female (Sketch)

I went back and fixed the angle of her face that was bothering me earlier. I like it better now.

Unfortunetly(for some anyway..) this is not going to be a full body piece. I was inspired by lolita's take on art nouveau, so this is a torso piece. It'd distract too much from the design had I done a full body anyways. The composition would not flow properly IMO.

Synnabar Sketch

Wow, I haven't drawn anything in quadrupedal form for a long time. My feral anatomy skills are rustier than a nuns vagina n.n

Anyhow, just a little cartoony doodle for synnabar that I was thinking of making into a bookmark for her. I hate this thing,lol. I need to do different angles and expressions, my shit is getting too repetitive. Thats what happens when I draw from my head though. Eck.

I haven't had the time lately to make large, finished pieces. I've been doing lots of studies. So I took a few favorite studies of mine, and then took some random doodley heads and put them together in this image.

Lots of Sekhmet/Lion/Cat heads ranging from very cartoony to alittle more realistic. Then thers an Andrewsarchus head(the beast with the long skull), some human bums with slightly too short legs. Wing studies. And a crappy pair of Silverwing and Dreamrunner heads.

I hope to actually finish a real piece of art this week or next week sometime 9.9

Current work in progress for myself... I needed a break from art for others and for college.

Delano here is crawling out of a grave. Inspired by the lyrics of Klaus Nomi's cold song, and my emotions/recent events. I needed this =/

The piece is about bottling up feelings, then snapping later on. Delano, as i've probably mentioned a billion times before, is my Nimrahj character symbolic to darkness, depression, and all that gloomy shit.

A Rare Gem-Cosmos

She's a shape shifting, unicorn humanoid creature with some feline traits. I thought she was creative, interesting, yet a challenge.
She has opal colored skin, which in my opinion was challenging to do with my limited trad. art supplies.
This overall took me about 2 weeks to complete. The wings alone took me 2-3 hours, because I drew all the veins on the feathers. And whee, sparkles!

Some stuff is a little wonky. No reference. Lacking some detail. I want to add more jewelry, and obviously a background but before I add anything else I want to have the anatomy down good.

She will have bloody little paws and lips =D I definetly wanted her to have wild, big hair.

Also waiting on my set of tria markers to arrive in the mail before I color this baby. Get trias now while they're cheap. They're revamping everything and putting out the new versions in the fall.

Done in inks, marker,colored pencil , pastel, silver and white gelpen on standard size cardstock.

Woah weird anatomy. The arm on Sekhmet seems longish to me. But I was trying to make the elbow face forward. Actually Ashes arm looks messed up too. O_O I tend to get pretty pissed off with myself when I make stupid mistakes like that. Especially since I've previously sat there studying(and memorizing) certain parts of anatomy, so I WOULDN'T do it again... aye. It happens. I just wish I had noticed earlier when I could fix it.

I fail at clothing and inking dark hair. And inking in general, even.

These badges were for christmas gifts(done months ago now), but i was moving at the time and never had the chance to complete them. Ash and Mayra are wonderful people, and they're both very kind and helpful towards me <3

they deserve better than a badge anyways.

Goblin King

A work in progress of a david bowie portrait from the movie labyrinth. Yesh, david has crazy crazy eyes.

Done in pastel and colored pencil. My scanner really ruined this. In person their is tons of detail in the shading of the face, the scan does it 0 justice.

the pastel base i put down is piss yellow, so im predicting his hair wont come out the way i want it too. Ah well.

i realise vcl is for anthros, but a few humans won't hurt, right?

Ancient Queen

A portrait of an American Lioness.

Another crappy scan. The paper warped after using water color, so that dark spot up there isn't dirtyness, its a shadow. The drawing is actually 9x12, which didn't fit in my scanner.

I'm rather inexperienced with wet media. I bought some watercolor paper awhile ago, and decided to try it out on this. This was my first REAL attempt at a watercolor, colored pencil piece. The whole thing was done with a first layer of watercolor. The background is sloppy, but the salt effect finally worked out for me properly. I just need to learn how to control my brush/colors better.

This was a nice experiment. I like the technique, and hope to get better at it,cause as of right now,this piece screams NOOB at me.

Ah well, back to more college portfolio work.

Entering Unholy Grounds

Marker on Sekhmet/Pyralis,inks(0.05) and colored pencil on card stock. I'm really unhappy with the scan. Trust me when I say this looks 10 thousand times better in person. The general fact that the background is so grainy(I put a lot of layers, like 6 each but I couldn't get it to go darker, wtf)pisses me off. I couldn't use a marker base on the background cause I don't have the right colors.
This generally symbolizes facing your problems, or the worst aspects of yourself.

I decided it was stupid to do all the crosses in the background when I can just do them on the transfer. Thats why theyre not all there.

An idea I had to express how I've been feeling. But considering I've got my college portfolio to do, and I need variety, I decided that I will most likely drop this version and do a human/self portrait version in watercolor or graphite.

I have a lot of artwork started,lots of sketches,but I can't upload them because theyre mostly gifts. So, when I'm done.

A more feral looking Hakan. Yep. Another Tim Hortons doodle. I'm always at that dang place. Mmm. French Vanilla Coffee.

A creepy looking Hakan head I drew last weekend. I decided to put more human features in him, so he looks alittle more like a demon rather than too much like a bigcat with horns and giant saber teeth.
