Whee, commission for the wonderful Abyss! This one was fun, I was given a great deal of artistic leg room to create this, save the basic concept. The landscape is not exactly supposed to be realistic, more of a vague, dreamlike place inside Abyss' (the doberman's) mind, and the lighting inteself is pretty experimental, because this is only the second of two pictures I've done with glowy dramatic lighting of any kind. I like the way it turned out in general, and I really hope Abyss likes it too.

My contribution to the Serpentes Portfolio, organized by Jadewolf and Thornwolf, featuring the art of the organizers themselves plus; Northwolf, Kyoht, Kenket, Naryu, Goldenwolf, Dragoncreator, Vantid, and more! My naga here is based off a series of Japanese legends featuring snake women who marry human men, take them under water to live with them, and in return grant immortality. She is also based off a ryukyu odd-tooth snake, known in Japan as an Akamata. Beautiful snake, I indulged on the red a tad, and also the face markings. Took me a while to complete, but I'm very happy with the result!

Done on 13" X 15" smooth bristol in watercolour, coloured pencil and gouache.

Albi Badge

Badge for Albi, which I like best so far! I don't get commissioned to draw enough gryphons, and raptors are one of my passions. Every year at the Boulder Creek Festival the colorado raptor sanctuary brings their embassador birds to the public, and it's the highlight of my year. ^^

Another right out of my sketchbook, featuring my relatively new character Sendiri (named thanks to Lethe-grey) consoling Wolf Nymph... I could use a little consolation, someone to just hang onto me while I cry into their fur. or ah... clothes more like. I didn't know who would be my random sob-victim until I remembered the kitsune-tanuki mix from a while ago. His name means 'alone' in Indonesian, thought it was appropriate.

The Purest Soul

Happy 17th birthday to my pup Wolfy, who passed away nearly one year ago at the age of 16. Instead of remember his death and have a somber day, I tried to remember his life, what he did for me as my best friend growing up. So happy 17th birthday little brother. You are missed and celebrated....

The Aquarian

Many people associate the sign of Aquarius with water, seeing as it's derived from the word "aqua". However, Aquarius is dominantly an air sign, and means "water bearer". Being an Aquarian myself, I can't help but revisit the concept again after making this piece back in 2005. I also can't help myself with these chunky swirly designs. XD

I realize this is off-topic, but bear with me. I have been pretty good about keeping on topic, but I'm very proud of this so I'd like to put it here. I won't be offended if it's removed, however.

This started out as a random sketch, but I just decided to go further with it. I suppose it represents the sign aquarius (of which I am one), which is actually an air sign. But I find myself being split between my dominant air element and secondary water element (which is almost as strong). Funny thing, people who have either of those as their dominant element are most of the time artistic in some way. So in conclusion, it's an ode to aquarians, the sky, clouds and rain (all three I love to death) and of course, artistic nudity.

Arctic Spectacle

Another holiday card commission, this time for ~Artic-Dragoness of her character Artic, a white dragoness admiring the Aurora Borealis spectacle. I live in Colorado, and only once in my lifetime have the Northern Lights visited my home, and I was only months old at the time. It's always been a dream of mine to see them. ^^

My secret from the furry fans is that I love armored things, like mechs and robots and well... things in armor. I just can't draw them very well. This is my first successful shot at something in snazzy looking armor. Yes, no tail....

Mel Cooke's character, Ashta for yerf's secret santa! The theme was faery tales, and I couldn't resist transforming Ashta into a greenling faery (considering she's way into green things and plants). The symbols on the rocks are from Brian Fround and Ari Berk's book "The Runes of Elfland". The one on the left is the rune of Sustenance (y'know, water, soil, plant-feeding things) and the other one is the rune of Joy (because Ashta is a VERY joyful character). I sincerely hope Mel like's it, it was a pleasure to create. :heart:

Autumn Eskie

A little painting that has been trapped in my brain for years and years, and I finally decided to let the poor thing out. I've always been inspired by the beauty of nature, and in the fall season the trees in my neighborhood are all stunning. My favourite in the fall is the Ash tree, which looks like it's lit from within with it's leaves being yellow underneath and red/purple in the tops.

This was also an exercise in NOT blending like mad with my paint. I used thick paint and just let the brush strokes be as they were, forming shapes with the colour.

This painting is TINY, about 3" X 3" on a piece of scrap mat board. A detail image of Wolfy (the doggy) is in the 'more info' link because it looks really cool close up.

This didn't take me as long as it should. it was kind of rushed, for who knows what reaons. In fact, the only part of this drawing I really like is the skirt. meh.. it looks better in real life anyhow. She IS walking down a slight slope, so I didnt' draw it crooked.

Dark Io

Finished Part 2 commission for ~Psychopomp16 of DA of her character Io! This is the dark/demon version of Io. The wings are all black, but I tried to get that transparent membrane look a little. Did this one on 9" X 12" bristol with prismacolor markers and a tad of colored pencil.

Bad Wolf Vibes

A long overdue graphite commission for Kimbo Demonica! Usually when things are overdue (and they often are), I try to make them bad-ass to make up for the time lost. I hope I succeeded in making Bad Wolf look bad-ass. I've been totally itching to draw this for some time now, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting reaquainted with my mechanical pencil. ^^ I did this one on a piece of bristol that was apparently vellum (cold press) surfaced, which gave it a texture I didn't expect. I still think it turned out well though.

Wolfy Demands Banana

A toony version of Wolfy I may play with more to make some comics or even sticker sets. Bananas, apples and carrots were his favourite "junk food".

Ever get the feeling that the only reason guys ever talk to you is because of your bosom? Alterior motives from this dog piss Nebby the red panda off, and it pisses me off too. Sorry to let my current man-hating-ness seep into art I owe other people, but seriously... look me in the eyes when you talk to me, and spark a conversation because there's something to talk about. Don't approach me because you think I'm "hawt" or because you think you have a chance with me. I HATE this stupid stud-strut every male within ten miles is performing for me...

A trade/gifty thing for Bastek! I had started and half coloured one picture for her, but was totally unsatisfied with it, so I made this instead. Two totally different things for me in my art, the perspective and dramatic lighting. The perspective part wasn't so hard, though I'm pretty positive there are mistakes in there, the lighting is what got me.

Long overdue birthday gift for Bastek. Drew and shaded this with traditional media methods, pens and pencil, then scanned and painted in colour with photoshop. I'm putting this under digital because the digital part took longer than the traditional (not including tons of drawing and erasing that lantern design until I got something that I liked). Yay, fun with lightsources!
