Sweet and Deadly

Getting through commissions this summer! This one is for DL of his character, Mev. Mev is the only daughter in a family of warrriors; to gain an edge in battle, she steals a potion of regeneration, only to find out too late that its primary component is 'essence of troll', which causes some, er, cosmetic side-effects. (description by character's creator)

In other words she's cute and can kick your ass! I loved this one, I don't get commissioned very often for human-like characters.

Canine Colors Set

stickers, yay! I've ordered them through a company that will print and dicut them for me, so I don't have to cut them all by hand. I just ordered these tonight, so it'll be about three weeks till I get the stickers in.

But I am taking preorders!

You will seven 2" sized stickers (one of each of the doggies) and five 1" sized stickers (pawprint in the middle). So you get 12 stickers total. They will come in a little plastic package with a label and everything!

All people who preorder a sticker set will also get a special free gift with their order!

Ciro

I did this painting for my Landscape painting class. The assignment was to take photos and do studies of animals at the zoo and their faux habitats, then to create a painting of our own composition based off those photos and studies.

The arctic foxes at the Denver Zoo had their winter coats still, and were really active that day. There are a few cool looking twisted wood pieces and logs in there that I liked too.

I named the painting Ciro because he's supposed to be one of my characters; a world travelling arctic fox with brilliant sun coloured eyes (thus his name Ciro, which means 'sun' in Italian).

Alternative facial markings for Wolf Nymph. I like this design a lot, I want to figure out a way to use it without having to change Wolf Nymph again. Maybe I'll just be a putz and use the facial markings interchangeably, beause I like both of them and I can't decide on which one to use permanantly. Then again, Wolf Nymph is an ever changing character, so I guess I don't have to pick a permanant design.

Wolfy Demands Banana

A toony version of Wolfy I may play with more to make some comics or even sticker sets. Bananas, apples and carrots were his favourite "junk food".

Itchy Wing

I figure dogs would have a hard time keeping up with wing preening. Do you know how stinky they can get sans wings? XD So here's Wolf Nymph struggling to groom an itch out of her wing. Grrr.... *chews*

Soul Gift

drew this soon after Wolfy had died... I suppose I'm putting it here because it has really powerful emotional content for me. In the moments before his death when I was holdinh him, I don't think I've ever felt worse anguish, pain, fear and helplessness. I wanted to draw something that expressed me holding him in the moments before his death, but without all those horrible feelings.

Happy Leaf Dog

Wolf Nymph really is more of a dog than anything. ^_^ Lately I've been drawing her as a dog only, no bird bits or anything, so I made a badge of her that way. It's been some time since I made myself a badge, my icon being the last one I did for myself in May of 2006. I still really like the way that one looks, but I wanted something more up leafy, doggish, dynamic and up to date.

Something I did in between badges and school for fun! I've never tried ACEO cards before, so I made this scary black wolf with glowing eyes. He's gonna eat you! O___O

Wolf Nymph Pelt Badge

I thought it would be funny to see Wolf Nymph as a pelt, so I made this two sided badge to show off that idea! ^^ I'll be taking commissions for these at FC, as well as my normal badges, graphite badges, and special acrylic painted badges with full backgrounds. Anubis Doggy

Here's a sample of what a custom one of a kind sticker or magnet will look like at FC. I figured I needed to come up with samples of everything so people get an idea of what they are buying when they commission me. So I made up this anubian doggy dude for that purpose! I'm going to make a magnet out of the original, and he'll be at my table to be a good sample doggy for people to see.

Elemental Animals

First art of 2008! Four elemental animals done as sticker and magnet designs for Further Confusion 2008, which I will be at in the dealer's room. I wanted to have some fun cool looking stickers I could sell at my dealer's table, and at future cons as well. So I picked a theme that's fun and pretty popular, and everyone can relate to and appreciate. I would like to do more themed sticker sets like this in the future, but I don't have the time before FC.

The originals paintings and the sticker/magnets will all be at FC, so if you're going stop by my table! I've been working all winter break on these, so hopefully someone out there will want some stickers. ^^

Kazdra Chesspiece Bust

A special Christmas commission for Kazdra from her boy, Flaerion. I have two more of these really fun busts to do as commissions, so keep an eye out for more! This one was reeeaally complex. ><; Need to stretch and workout my sculpture muscles more I think. This one is about three inches tall, a little bigger than my gryphon one so I could fit in all that detail.

Holiday Delivery Crew

And the last holiday card commission is done, for Bloodhound Omega! I went a little overboard with this one since it's so close to christmas by now, giving this a full background instead of a simple partial one. The big hooved critter is called a Nopey, and the black canine there (bloodhound) isn't a werewolf, but a special species Bloodi made up called a Bloodhound. They are trecking across a wintery part of their home planet, which has three moons, to deliver special parcels to special people.

Christmas with Ichigo

Anyway, holiday card for Nutmeg! Featuring Nutmeg ( the Blue/brown canine ) Ichigo ( the dude ) and a Kon doll ( the doll, duh! ). Personally, I LOVE Bleach, but I never think to draw fanart for any of the things I love like Bleach, Miyazaki movies, Battlestar Galactica, Spiderman... I sorta got a chance here, so I'm satisfied. ^^ I like his hair....

Crow Stickers

I made these stickers with my new sticker maker for my friend Katy at school (my half of our trade). The large crow sticker is about 5" X 4", to give you an idea of how big they are up there. They are each laminated and cut out myself by hand.

So, I can make stickers and magnets with my new sticker maker now! I will be selling stickers of my art and custom one of a kind sticker designs at Further Confusion. I made a HUGE set of these especially for Katy, and she gets the original artwork.

Origins

Another commission for Ksilebo!

This one was just plain fun to draw and paint, and has a slight personal touch to it's meaning. I believe all living things were forged from the fires of the universe and of this earth. We belong to, and are part of this existance all together. Never forget your origins as a living being, an animal, a human, and have respect for ALL living beings because they share your legacy of life on this planet.

I was also really inspired by a badass firedancing photo Graywolf showed me recently!

Window to Winter

Here is this year's christmas card design for my family, featuring Wolfy! (of course) I had a general idea of what I wanted to do, but my mom basically told me what she wanted to see specifically in this piece. I tried to work this from an illustrator's standpoint, going through thumbnails and colour studies and whatnot... I think it turned out well overall.

I'm going to donate the framed original to Eskie rescuers United (the 'more info' link) if they will take it. If not, I'm going to try and sell it myself and donate the proceeds to them directly.

Gentle Bronze Beast

This gentle bronze hexadragon wants nothing more than to cuddle with his kitten and observe the beauty of nature and it's creatures... A long time coming commission for Ksilebo! I have one more I'm going to do for him too, hopefully by tuesday if I can. I did this one first in graphite, then after scanning it used the 'multiply' feature to colour underneath the graphite piece.

Lord, isn't this emo! XD Drew this earlier this year to address some anger issues I was having at the time.

It's supposed to represent how anger (the black stuff) comes from deep within yourself, and sometimes you gotta rip into your core to remove it. It can get a little bloody, as you can see. I was also trying to make the connection between Wolf Nymph (this brown wolf) and Shadow Wolf (black wolf linked to in 'more info'), how they are the same character but one is taken over by the essence of power, anger and other dark desires.

and you know, it was also fun to draw. =)

Autumn Eskie

A little painting that has been trapped in my brain for years and years, and I finally decided to let the poor thing out. I've always been inspired by the beauty of nature, and in the fall season the trees in my neighborhood are all stunning. My favourite in the fall is the Ash tree, which looks like it's lit from within with it's leaves being yellow underneath and red/purple in the tops.

This was also an exercise in NOT blending like mad with my paint. I used thick paint and just let the brush strokes be as they were, forming shapes with the colour.

This painting is TINY, about 3" X 3" on a piece of scrap mat board. A detail image of Wolfy (the doggy) is in the 'more info' link because it looks really cool close up.

Wolf Nymph Mask

My boyfriend bought this mask from an artist named Tiffany Smyth and the Colorado Renaissance Festival as a gift to me for our third year anniversary over the summer. I picked it out from dozens of handcrafted/molded leather masks that Tiffany makes herself and paints. Tiffany even signed the mask for me on the inside when we bought it!

This mask came as a blank unpainted slate, so I painted it myself (acrylic paints) and added the jewels (peridot) and the teeth (sculpy clay). Kind of an artistic interpretation of Wolf Nymph's marking here, adapted to the mask itself.

I will be wearing this mask for halloween probably, and I hope to bring it to FC with me to wear around the con. Tiffany's website is in the more-info link.

I would assume your form....

...in your memory

I woke up this morning with an idea of what Wolf Nymph would look like as an eskie, and just HAD to get it out... This isn't exactly a character design change, just a what-if/alternate form. It's fun to experiment, but Wolf Nymph still hasn't changed. ^^

Basically she's a normal all white eskie, but where Wolf Nymph's dark chocolate brown markings would be, it's the golden/tannish colour instead. Some eskies have tan colours in their fur, like their ears or a random spot somewhere. Consider me not AKC qualified. XD

Done as a four inch tall pencil sketch with photoshop colours underneath. I remember now why I don't often work digitally. *rubs wrist*

Small Dream Gryphon

I had a dream where I was this critter! It was super fun, and I remember every sensory detail. I liked the experience so much, I had to draw her too! In the dream, my boyfriend was one too, but a little bigger and coloured like a peregrin falcon (with my own hawk based body and face).

I made an attempt at skeletal structure (basic masses, no detail). More detail at the comment link. Just a fantasy with an attempt at imagining how it might work.

Promise Land

On Monday september 17th, my little brother, companion, best friend and dog passed away. Wolfy was 16 years old, and was suffering from an encroaching brain tumor. There was nothing more we could do but ease his suffering.... He lived a long and happy life, and up until he died my life revolved entirely around him. Now I feel like the only thing I can do is try to live life to the fullest without him, and to use my art to show everyone how wonderful he was.

Proud Chesspiece

This wasn't really meant to be a chesspiece, but it reminded me of a knight when I was sculpting it. I made this a week ago when I really need to get this sculpy bug out of me. I probably should have been doing my homework. XD Anyway, it's Wolf Nymph in gryphon form, just for fun!
