Pocket Dragon
A little congratulations gift for my boyfriend, a teeny picture if his Black Dragon. Done in markers, Acrylics and colored pencil, it's the exact size of a driver's license so he can carry it around with him. He doesn't have much space to hang big art right now. XD

Casidhe's Sunset - badge
Now that the badges I did for the AFF sponsers are done, I started taking commission for this style of badge. First one up, Casidhe! This was a real pleasure to paint. I'm trying to do some more landscape/environmental stuff, and this tiny 3" X 4" sunset was great practice and great fun. I'm also trying to be more deliberate in my brush strokes, if that makes sense. I ended up with a slightely more toony style than usual because of this.

Bad Wolf Vibes
A long overdue graphite commission for Kimbo Demonica! Usually when things are overdue (and they often are), I try to make them bad-ass to make up for the time lost. I hope I succeeded in making Bad Wolf look bad-ass. I've been totally itching to draw this for some time now, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting reaquainted with my mechanical pencil. ^^ I did this one on a piece of bristol that was apparently vellum (cold press) surfaced, which gave it a texture I didn't expect. I still think it turned out well though.

The Attack
My final project for an animal anatomy class I took this summer. The animal with the spear is Slender Loris, my favorite primate. They don't come in white, but I thought he might be more interesting that way. The cat's face is based off a cougar, but with the fur colour of a tiger and kind of made-up patterning. Leopard inspired, but not really leopard accurate. The birds I feel are a compositional afterthought, since we had to include a bird in our final piece somewhere. They are Black Throated Magpie Jays.

Zyzxx Badge
Last of the sponser badges, this one is for Zyzxx! Once again, done in acrylics and coloured pencil on 3" X 4" Heavyweight illustration board, and sealed with Crystal Clear.

Greenvoice
Another little piece I did for myself just last night. Wolf Nymph again, but she is always a little different everytime I draw or paint her. I like the idea of a character design open to interpretation and change, like Nevar Raven once told me when I was redesigning Wolf Nymph.

Dejected Dog
A dejected and pondering Wolf Nymph... Went back to my old colouring style again with this one, watercolours andd coloured pencil. I think I'd be happier with it if I had stuck with just watercolours. But since it's a bit of vent art it doesn't quite matter if it had spaghettios smeared across it, so long as it's an emotionally satisfying art-thing.

My Summer Girl
My contribution to this years Music Portfolio, reuploaded to add a more prominant watermark showing the portfolio name! My song of choice is "Summer Skin" by Death Cab for Cutie, one of my favourite songs. With this piece I tries not to rely on coloured pencils at all, nor did I rely on lines of any kind (no outline, haha!) I rather like the result! Sorry for the big watermark, but if you want to see the unwatermarked version, you gotta get the 'folio. If you are interested in purchasing the portfolio, the only place I can direct you for now is the livejournal community (Click the More Info link) They will also have a table at Anthro con, so look for it there!

Wild Fuchsia
Mini-commission/character fan art/muse-bitten attempt to rid my brain of images! Did this tonight after a loooong day at school and work, running on five hours of sleep, and after a bunch of homework. For some reason, I just couldn't shut down for bed until I did this! It's for Sepia after I saw her bad-ass character sheet. I could NOT resist the black, brown pink combo in a gryphon especially. Go check out her art, she rocks and is open for commissions! (more info link)

Teach Me to Fly
Commission for Dani Walker, of herself (gryphon) and her soon-to-be husband (horned canine)! This one I decided to do in acrylics because I have a lot of freedom with the medium. I think it turned out fantastically, I'm pretty pleased. Coloured pencil touch ups make a big difference too, I think. Though, this picture taught me I need to work on textures other than fur, feathers and grass (the rocky cliff). Need more people to commission me for gryphons and birds! The gryphon is a combination of a Red Tailed Hawk and a Somali Cat, and her canine guy is a wolf with ram horns and Cape Hunting Dog markings.

Me Eat Carrot?
A little off topic because of the girl, but... Dinosaur! The very last assignment for my conceptual illustration class. This one accompanies a kids magazine article about vegetarianism. I figured a T-rex would be a good representation of a meat eater, plus kids live dinosaurs! =D I know I do.

No Way Out
A piece for my conceptual illustration class illustrating an article titled "Putting a Stop to Slave Labor". In a nutshell, the article is about undocumented Mexican workers in America, and the effect they have on the American economy. It involves the impact that deporting all of them, or raising their pay to minimum wage would have on the US economy as well.

Folded Cranes
Collaberation between myself and Kacey Miyagami! She made the gorgeous lineart, and I put my acrylics to them on illustration board. =3 I found out she was going to All Fur Fun, and decided to approach her for a collaberation. Since I admire her art quite a bit, I was THRILLED when she said yes. I've never done a collaberation like this before, so this was quite a challenge, but also really enjoyable.

Felis Lunaris
Another piece for the AFF art show! Did this one in acrylics with some coloured pencil touchups. I'm really starting to like what I can do with acrylics, I fear I'm getting rusty at watercolours. ^^ This piece also serves a double purpose as an art show piece, and as a (late) school assignment. The only stipulation what that it had to be a relatively realistically rendered piece in acrylic, subject matter and everything else was up to me.

Sammitch!
Assignment number two for Conceptual Illustration class. This goes to a REALLY boring article about the purpose of a refridgerator, and how to maintain one. *yawn* We had to make some eye catching or at least somewhat interesting illustration to go with it, and still pertain mostly to the subject matter. I ultimatly chose a cliche arctic animal to portray cold-ness, and a sandwich for the food part. Kinda far away from the article, but at least I had fun with it.

Flight to Better Days
First project for my children's book class, fully illustrated page out of an existing fairy tale. This is from a shorted form of Thumbelina, the scene where the sparrow takes her away from her situation of having to marry the dull flower-hating mole. This one's a two page spread. Sometimes I wish the story would have ended here; "the sparrow spirited Thumbelina away from the Mole and Mouse, and they lived happily ever after having adventure after adventure flying about the wide beatiful world as free spirits."

I call him pest with the utmost tenderness and love. Utterly random Eskie in a hoodie, MY random eskie in fact. Was watching my dog sleep as I myself was curled up in my black hoodie sketching on the couch. decided to scan it, then started to mess with it in photoshop a bit. No purpose, just fun.

Albi Badge
Badge for Albi, which I like best so far! I don't get commissioned to draw enough gryphons, and raptors are one of my passions. Every year at the Boulder Creek Festival the colorado raptor sanctuary brings their embassador birds to the public, and it's the highlight of my year. ^^

Isil Badge
Badge for Isil the Werecat! Laminated this one, and used one of my two remaining magnetic fasteners on it. I need to find more of them, but the Office Depot by my house doesn't sell them anymore. ><; I also apparently read her directions wrong on this one, so she's getting a surprise with her badge when it arrives. ^^ Hope she likes it!

Last Christmas card commission, for Kahateni! Yes, it is very late, I'm aware of that... Next year I am going to start taking these in the beginning of October to make ABSOLUTE sure I have enough time to complete them. I'm doing a little something extra to make it up to KC, who has been nothing but kind and patient for every commission she's had me do. =3
