Canine Colors Set

stickers, yay! I've ordered them through a company that will print and dicut them for me, so I don't have to cut them all by hand. I just ordered these tonight, so it'll be about three weeks till I get the stickers in.

But I am taking preorders!

You will seven 2" sized stickers (one of each of the doggies) and five 1" sized stickers (pawprint in the middle). So you get 12 stickers total. They will come in a little plastic package with a label and everything!

Another older sketch I decided to put some colour onto with my friend's tablet. =3 I'm still experimenting with what I think looks good and what is do-able according to my current skills. I like this, but it lacks something in my opinion. =/ Ah well, this was some fun practise anyway!

The last holiday card commission, and what a doozy for me! This took me a while longer than the other, partly because I'm not as used to drawing humans much anymore, partly because it's much more detailed, and also because I went back a step in time for me and used my old watercolour/coloured pencils technique.

Me Eat Carrot?

A little off topic because of the girl, but... Dinosaur! The very last assignment for my conceptual illustration class. This one accompanies a kids magazine article about vegetarianism. I figured a T-rex would be a good representation of a meat eater, plus kids live dinosaurs! =D I know I do.

Casidhe's Sunset - badge

Now that the badges I did for the AFF sponsers are done, I started taking commission for this style of badge. First one up, Casidhe! This was a real pleasure to paint. I'm trying to do some more landscape/environmental stuff, and this tiny 3" X 4" sunset was great practice and great fun. I'm also trying to be more deliberate in my brush strokes, if that makes sense. I ended up with a slightely more toony style than usual because of this.

A very involved trade with The Feline Canine which turned out pretty cool. Her two characters, species; Khaosdogs, romping in an entirely random setting plus tree. Because, I like da trees... and so does she! I like how this turned out, but I need some major work on doing whole environments and backgrounds, especially with piecing together all the environmental elements so it looks more natural. Hope she likes it!

Winter Holidays 2006

My christmas card for this year! The little girl is based off of me as a kid (always in the snow), and my dog Wolfy (in my arm) and the wolfish looking dog added in just because I wanted to. =3 I decided to get it done early so I could get printing and sending them out without worrying. My christmas card this year my mom and I will be sending out to all our family and friends. This isn't quite supposed to be me as a kid, but it turned out sort of representing me anyway. The kitten is my cat Mitten, who passed away recently... So this is sort of my little tribute to him. The puppy is my dog Wolfy, who is really old, but still around. I figured he ought to have a cameo in this card as well. ^^

One of my projects which takes precedence over a few things lately, a christmas card commission for my mom! Done pretty much exactly to her specifications, in watercolour, coloured pencil and gouache. I don't expect her to pay me, of course, she's my mom and for something this small it would feel selfish. Besides, this is a cool way I get to show off my art to everyone on the card list, family and friends alike. The image will be made into special cards (minus the silly makeshift photoshop border), and all this makes me feel, well... special! Happy holidays everyone!

Ciro

I did this painting for my Landscape painting class. The assignment was to take photos and do studies of animals at the zoo and their faux habitats, then to create a painting of our own composition based off those photos and studies.

The arctic foxes at the Denver Zoo had their winter coats still, and were really active that day. There are a few cool looking twisted wood pieces and logs in there that I liked too.

I named the painting Ciro because he's supposed to be one of my characters; a world travelling arctic fox with brilliant sun coloured eyes (thus his name Ciro, which means 'sun' in Italian).

I feel like inside someone elses mind, I'm battling an elf girl who's mystery and beauty greatly surpasses my own (to him maybe). and no matter how hard I try, she can just stand there and effortlessly defeat me..

My contribution to Grey Wolf's corset themed portfolio called 'Laced'. Anyone who knows a bit about colour psychology knows that people who's favourite colour is green value freedom and independance. I am one of those stubborn, freedom-bent green lovers. I can't stand it when people tell me what to do. So I made this the way it is as something of a personality self portrait. There are 18 hidden things in the leaves which apply to my personality (some are the same type of thing), so this is why I say full view so you can spot them all in there. Nearly everything in here I tried to make symbolic of my personality, to add a really personal touch to the portfolio piece.

This is a veeeeery late gift for my brother's girlfriend, Melina! She's such an awesome person, she cooks the BEST healthy food I have ever tasted. I wouldn't mind living with her because she's so sweet and... well because of the food too. XD She asked for a cougar with some kind of wings in a forsest and left the rest up to me. I have been way to stressed about my art being perfect lately, so I didn't use any references or fuss over it too much, and this is the result. I like some aspects of it, but I wish I had refrenced for the sky at least. =/ Still, good enough!

I also made a watermark for myself (lower left corner), and am going to be using it on my art from now on.

Wereblood and Lakota are my next victims! Here they be, crawling about (whether on the ground or on a wall I don't know) being all happy and... pupil-less.

Lakota was the first person ever to commission me, and a double commission too. And wereblood was my first trade I ever did! For that they both hold a special place in my heart. Kind of a thank you gift for them.

This fur texture isn't really what I want my style to look like... But when you draw this small (actual drawing is much tinier) you can't help but crowd the texture too.

Crow Stickers

I made these stickers with my new sticker maker for my friend Katy at school (my half of our trade). The large crow sticker is about 5" X 4", to give you an idea of how big they are up there. They are each laminated and cut out myself by hand.

So, I can make stickers and magnets with my new sticker maker now! I will be selling stickers of my art and custom one of a kind sticker designs at Further Confusion. I made a HUGE set of these especially for Katy, and she gets the original artwork.

Another blasphemic image... My mammalian sand dragon, Cyrus, as a my little pony. I just couldn't help myself, these are a bunch of fun. I think my pony obsession has been quelled though, so no Shade or Sendiri ponies anytime soon. I make no promises.

Had a hard time coming up with a symbol for him, decided to go with changing moon phases; in his story he goes from his home in the sandy desert civilization his people had created, to the forest keep that Shade's people have made their home. So I suppose it's a symbol of change and adaptation. That and I seem to not be able to deviate from any sort of moon theme... anyhoo, enjoy!

This was my final project for a character design class I had last quarter. This is Shade and Cyrus's first encounter in the forest. It took me a full three day weekend to finish it, working from about 9AM to midnight for each of the three days. Done on 15" X 20" illustration board with watercolour, coloured pencil and white gouache. I'm pleased with it mostly because I worked very hard on it, and it's very... textured. I think I did ok, considering this is my first time with illustration board, and this big of a project.
