Holiday Slow Dance
Another card commission, this one for an off-DA person who has bought original art from me before. =3 Thank you, to this repeat client! He asked I illustrate the characters from this piece (linked in more info URL) in a more romantic holiday setting, sharing a slow dance. This really shows me how much my process has changed, I'm looser with my fur texture and use watercolour MUCH more than pencil now. Though I think for these cards everything is a little less refined because they are small-ish commissions that I need to finish in a timely manner. ><; Maybe I just always think I could do better.

The Twins
Christmas Card commission for Katanawolf of DA! I had been working on this on and off since finals weeks started, so I decided to devote tonight to finishing it now that finals are over. =3 These are her new characters, Sei (left) and Suru (right), along with their little companions Drive the lemur, and Potions the fennec fox. They seem to have their own little dynamic going on. ^^ This one was fun to do, I enjoyed working with King Cheetah markings.

Freed Demon
My final project for my Basic Illustration class, done all in black technical pens with a teensy bit of white gouache for touch-ups (sepia tone and border in photoshop). The assignment for this one was to illustrate a fortune cookie phrase, but we could stretch it as far as we wanted, as long as it still sort of pertained to the original phrase. Mine was "Something unusual will happen to you at work or school." So maybe this is a researcher's desk who recently unrolled a Japanese scroll, and unwittingly released a terrible fox demon into the world! Or something... XD

Trick or Treat
One of my three projects for my Basic illustration class, neglected to scan it until now (now that I have a little time). The assignment was to place an animal in a human role, without anthropomorphizing it a ton, and complete it in either ink, scratchboard, or black and white gouache (so black and white only, no grey tones or colours). So I put a bat in a human child role, trick-or-treating around for bugs. ^^ It was October when I did this, and I was really in the halloween mood. I also wanted to try my hand at gouache again, so this was a small challenge trying to get fine lines with that kind of paint. Fun though!

Riding Wild Waves
Cover piece for my final humanities seminar class paper, all about the Noah's Ark story. =3 When I was a kid, my mom never asked me to go to church, or made me read the bible or anything, but I was made aware of several bible stories through children's books. Noah's Ark was always my favourite because it involved animals, LOTS of them. I would have liked this piece to be a bit more refined, as well as larger so I could fit more animals into the waves, but I did it all in one sitting to get it done in time. Inpired greatly by Katsushika Hokusai's famous wave piece.

Yule card commission for Graywolf, of herself, her lovely-to-draw Ringtail, and little Duncan the ferret. This is probably the most detailed a card commission will get as far as backgrounds go, so I had put a little extra effort into this one. ^^

Draconian Guardian
I realized I hadn't drawn anything for my boyfriend in quite some time, so I decided to make something for him he may like. It's me (with pointy ears for fun), and his dragon form (though only about a quarter of his normal size). I'm having a ton of fun colouring black things, which is possibly why I decided to include him in there, but I also haven't uploaded too many human drawings in my time here on DA. I know a lot of you are watching me for my anthro art, but I'd love to branch out into more fantasy/humans stuff, to be a little more diverse. =3 We'll see... Now back to card commissions!

Holiday Card commission for Poufy Werewolf! I decided to go back to inking my images before coluoring them instead of using graphite for the final linework, and I like the result. =3 Brisco doesn't look like he's enjoying the festivities as much as Poufy.

Winter Holidays 2006
My christmas card for this year! The little girl is based off of me as a kid (always in the snow), and my dog Wolfy (in my arm) and the wolfish looking dog added in just because I wanted to. =3 I decided to get it done early so I could get printing and sending them out without worrying. Commission for Westly Wolf, who has been a very patient and friendly customer! =3 His vampire, and wolf/hyena/vamp mix characters floating/flying in a sort of comic cover style piece. I realize now after scanning it I forgot the feathers that are supposed to be placed on a small spot on Westly's wings, I hope that doesn't compromise this at all. =/

Wolf Nymph in all blue! This little 4" X 5" piece of bristol is coloured with markers, coloured pencil and a teensy bit of white acrylic. Originally I did this for fun, but I decided to take them as little commissions in between everything else.

First assignment for my Basic Illustration class, done all in pencil with a bit of my ebony pencil for the darkest darks. =3 This is basically the finished version. Gave it a slight sepia tone for fun. Originally I was going to colour this in photoshop afterwards, but I think that will have to wait for another day, or I'll leave it like this.

Finally finished this commission for Rose Quoll, which was one of the more "me" commissions I've made. I love the idea of these half humany looking creatures, a little more human than your average anthro. Rose here is a mix between a human, quoll, and an australian magpie. The feather in her hand is modeled a little more after an north american Magpie, but I thought it fit. =3

Commission I finished today for Jaha! This one is for the most part watercolour, I'm trying to do less pencil work and more painting, so I don't feel like my pencils are just a crutch to cover my painting mistakes. It gives my art a very different look in my opinion, but I really like it. I enjoy the process more this way, watercolour painting is like meditation. =3

My half of a trade with Shy Myst, for a bundle of feathers. In case anyone didn't know, I'm a total feather addict... XD So this is her character Faun, a cat-like lizardy dragon guy! For some reason I decided to do this one all in watercolour, and I really like the result. I'm straying more and more from pencils, which actually feels good to me. Coloured pencils are cool and all, but they started to feel like a crutch, a backup for whenever I messed up my watercolours. So anyway, I'm satisfied with it!

This is a veeeeery late gift for my brother's girlfriend, Melina! She's such an awesome person, she cooks the BEST healthy food I have ever tasted. I wouldn't mind living with her because she's so sweet and... well because of the food too. XD She asked for a cougar with some kind of wings in a forsest and left the rest up to me. I have been way to stressed about my art being perfect lately, so I didn't use any references or fuss over it too much, and this is the result. I like some aspects of it, but I wish I had refrenced for the sky at least. =/ Still, good enough!

Revised character sheet for my character Wolf Nymph! I made some very minor changes, so I really wanted to make this so I would have as thorough a reference sheet as possible. I included some angles that might be confusing to anyone drawing her, like her butt and where her wings attach, as well as the written description ON the image so it's all in one place. It's not totally perfect, like some crooked things... But I don't mind, I like it overall!

Commission for Nebby! Nebby is a red panda, in case anyone is wondering. =3 Long time in the making, I worry that I overworked this one. I tried very hard to get the atmosphere desired, but I think I may have muddles it a little by trying so hard and not just going with the flow. My trees don't look very "tree-y". more like candy or something... ;__; I have to work on that.

First four badges done for 2006, thought I'd upload them in a batch like I did with my last ones so long ago. =3 Done in watercolour and coloured pencil on smooth bristol, each one is 3" X 4" (with the exception of Kanashimi's, which I got carried away with). These were all a blast!
