My dad's 51st birthday is coming up, so I thought I'd take a break to make him a card. Nothing too fancy, but I hope he likes it anyway. now back to homework...

This one I had inked and partially colored for several nights, while I constantly would take it out, look at it, and try to put pencil to paper. but for some reason it felt like a chore, and it wasn't fun. I finally finished it today. I think daylight is the key.

by the way, I have a commission auction underway at furbid if anyone is interested.

Darkwings

Sorry if you're getting sick of seeing canines with feathers or wings, maybe I should branch out and draw some felines with feathers or wings. XD When I'm back in school, I won't have a chance to indulge this favorite drawing subject of mine, so I guess I'm getting it all out while I can.

Marker colors: Black, 50% cool grey, 30% cool grey, blondewood and eggshell.
Colored pencil colors: sand, white and black
And some graphite in there to refine texture/accentuate shadows etc...

Prints available, follow the "More Info" link!

Dejected Dog

A dejected and pondering Wolf Nymph... Went back to my old colouring style again with this one, watercolours andd coloured pencil. I think I'd be happier with it if I had stuck with just watercolours. But since it's a bit of vent art it doesn't quite matter if it had spaghettios smeared across it, so long as it's an emotionally satisfying art-thing.

This is a fourth of my visual aid for a short speech I have to present on how to use watercolours and coloured pencils. Speech class is a bitch... just like this pretty lass here! She isn't much, but everything else is in the works.

here's the second attempt at the characters of "sussurus". It's a new version of an old sketch. I really dislike the girl's body from her shoulders down. She's got a little boy's body, it look wierd and disproportionate.. I do like the way the werewolf's body came out, especially his belly and chest. this is his final fur marking design. For her, however, I have changed her body structure and hair color a bit later on, making her more wolf-like and ethereal.

"It's as if everytime I touch her, she cries.."

This started as a request from my luna sister to draw a gazelle girl, and turned into a drama kind of thing. I don't normally draw any nude stuff or the like, but I like how this turned out. I'm acually pretty shy about this kind of stuff, and this is a huge step for me to put this out there.

I wanted to do something much more dynamic with preston's dragon-ness than that first concept drawing. This was actually pretty hard, I'm not used to having to put my perspective skills to use like this. On top of that I wanted to try something new with clouds, but it turned out to be a whole huge mess. I have a cool way to do it in my head, but I keep screwing around with different ideas and it never turns out right. I also should start working with references with my clouds. Regardless of the shitty background and way-too-light colouring of the black dragon, I think this turned out pretty cool.

I've owed my two boy cousins a drawing for a long time, so we came up with this while they were on a visit from Virginia. The younger brother insisted it have fangs and big buggy red eyes, but the general concept was the older brother's idea. and so, a dragon fly for them!

reuploaded again because of tinted background. so hard to tell with these LCD screens.

character from a dream I had, where he was my bounty hunting partner and I had wings. He's a dragon/human hybrid, but can change into this form from a human one when strength and speed and some nifty dragon tricks are needed. being wingless and tail-less do not get in the way of his old-world dragon personality. His scales and skin were much darker though, and more detailed with scales. He also wore black pants, combat-style boots, and a black trenchcoat torn at the places where his spikes protruded.

his left arm and fist look a little wonky to me, maybe too short of a fore-arm and too big of a hand. Other than that, he's intended to be proportioned this way.

Draconian Guardian

I realized I hadn't drawn anything for my boyfriend in quite some time, so I decided to make something for him he may like. It's me (with pointy ears for fun), and his dragon form (though only about a quarter of his normal size). I'm having a ton of fun colouring black things, which is possibly why I decided to include him in there, but I also haven't uploaded too many human drawings in my time here on DA. I know a lot of you are watching me for my anthro art, but I'd love to branch out into more fantasy/humans stuff, to be a little more diverse. =3 We'll see... Now back to card commissions!

Unicorn: "Eek!"

Yet another neony marker/coloured pencil piece, this one also for sale if anyone is interested. I wanted to go for a yin-yang sort of thing, but the design of the yin-yang is less apparent than I wanted it to be.

Original was for sale, but has already been sold.

This is the Dragrot: a character concept I pulled out of my ass for my Character and Object Design class. The Dragrot is a cross between a parrot and komodo dragon, making it the ideal guard dog. It has the intelligence, loving nature, and plumage of the parrot and the size, strength and fearsome appearence of a komodo dragon. The Dragrot can discern between friendly folk and unfriendly, trained to recognize threatening or sneaky behavior. You can trust a dragrot to babysit a toddler because of how gentle they are. This particular Dragrot is a female, larger and stronger than the males. All police Dragrot's are female, because Hell hath no fury like a woman's wrath.

"purple is the colour of freedom"

Nakey Husky takes a ride on the dreamworld express, free to surf the skies of the subconcious. Though I don't exactly know her personally, I know from her art that she's one of the most free thinking people out there. I admire her art well as her freedom. She just doesn't give a crap who thinks what about her art, she draws whatever the fark she wants! I think that's one reason why so many people think she rocks. Hope she doesn't mind that I gave her an almost abnormal amount of crotch-fluff. Hope this isn't too big.

Done in watercolour, coloured pencil and gouche on some odd size of bristol I don't remember...

Instead of being productive today, I spent the day drawing this. My entry for this week's trading post over at yerf! This is Spirit, riding a... giant sand anatomically incorrect sand raptor thing? yes! Exactly that!
Things I love about this picture: The raptor, Spirit's shirt.
Things I hate about this picture: the palm trees, grass, sky... background in general.

The raptor is saying, "OOGA BOOGA!" I think.

I made this for my dad's 50th birthday. I wish I could speak at lengths about the symbolism I put in this, from colour choice, to the crystals dangling from the eagle's talons. I'll just point out what it is and not go into details. Anyone who wants to do research can derive meaning from what I put into it if they want. The crystals are amethyst, iolite and quartz. The runes dyed into the eagle's feathers will be recognizable to those who are fans of Brian Froud. The only thing that has no meaning are the swirlies. I just thought they'd look nice, but I was REALLY rushed by the end so I think they kind of ruined the general composition of the piece.

Anyway, done with watercolours, coloured pencils and acrylic paint on smooth bristol.

Earth Bender Dog Girl

FINALLY I finished this! This drawing has been sitting in my sketchbook since the beginning of spring semester, just waiting to be inked and colored. I think this is a testament to my practice with markers, because this is 90% prismacolor marker, with some acrylic and mechanical pencil touchups.

Anyway, as you can see I'm a fan of Avatar. Although I think I'm very close to being a water bender, I just had to go with Earth bending for Wolf Nymph. If she could, she'd do both, but I think that's against the rules of the Avatar universe. But, so is an earth bending anthro dog girl, so I'm breaking the rules no matter what!

Elemental Animals

First art of 2008! Four elemental animals done as sticker and magnet designs for Further Confusion 2008, which I will be at in the dealer's room. I wanted to have some fun cool looking stickers I could sell at my dealer's table, and at future cons as well. So I picked a theme that's fun and pretty popular, and everyone can relate to and appreciate. I would like to do more themed sticker sets like this in the future, but I don't have the time before FC.

The originals paintings and the sticker/magnets will all be at FC, so if you're going stop by my table! I've been working all winter break on these, so hopefully someone out there will want some stickers. ^^

Although I should have been doing other things, I painted/drew this instead. A female of favourite dog breed (American Eskimo) meets another spitz dog (a male Wychlea) and it looks like they hit it off. =)

This is the edited version, I won't be uploading the unedited in any of my current galleries (maybe in the future in another I'm planning on establishing), but prints are available for both the edited and unedited versions if anyone is interested. Just check out this link to see the unedited version, and also to buy a print of you like: https://www.furbid.ws/cgi-bin/auction/item.pl?item=1050 If you don't want to go through the auction to get a print, just ask me about it in an email.

I would assume your form....

...in your memory

I woke up this morning with an idea of what Wolf Nymph would look like as an eskie, and just HAD to get it out... This isn't exactly a character design change, just a what-if/alternate form. It's fun to experiment, but Wolf Nymph still hasn't changed. ^^

Basically she's a normal all white eskie, but where Wolf Nymph's dark chocolate brown markings would be, it's the golden/tannish colour instead. Some eskies have tan colours in their fur, like their ears or a random spot somewhere. Consider me not AKC qualified. XD

Done as a four inch tall pencil sketch with photoshop colours underneath. I remember now why I don't often work digitally. *rubs wrist*

While digging up the sketches for old commissions (which I'm working on now) I found this little pencil drawing of my puppy Wolfy, which I must have done before he died. He seems like a happy little dog ghost in the drawing, thus the title.

I was feeling rusty with my acrylic skills and took a three and a half hour break to paint something up just for practice. Nothing meaningful, sort of sloppy, very tiny and even somwhat incorrect (as the corvid here is more raven-like), it was still good practice. One of these day I'm going to actually make a full acrylic painting.

Eye of Spring

"The Eye of Spring chooses it's Keeper, channeling their life force into the turning of seasons. They are blinded, for only the Eye may see what is to come. At the end of the Keeper's life, the Eye chooses another being through which to channel the coming of spring."

I christined my new sketchbook with this drawing, and ended up going pretty far with it. Done with the whole shebang of mediums! 90% Prismacolor marker, 10% graphite, colored pencil and acrylic, on 9" X 12" smooth bristol.

Original is for sale, please email me at wolfnymph at gmail dot com!

And high quality fine art prints are available on my Artspots account by clickin on the "More Info" link.
