Isil Badge

Badge for Isil the Werecat! Laminated this one, and used one of my two remaining magnetic fasteners on it. I need to find more of them, but the Office Depot by my house doesn't sell them anymore. ><; I also apparently read her directions wrong on this one, so she's getting a surprise with her badge when it arrives. ^^ Hope she likes it!

Itchy Wing

I figure dogs would have a hard time keeping up with wing preening. Do you know how stinky they can get sans wings? XD So here's Wolf Nymph struggling to groom an itch out of her wing. Grrr.... *chews*

Commission I finished today for Jaha! This one is for the most part watercolour, I'm trying to do less pencil work and more painting, so I don't feel like my pencils are just a crutch to cover my painting mistakes. It gives my art a very different look in my opinion, but I really like it. I enjoy the process more this way, watercolour painting is like meditation. =3

So this is Jaha (the beautiful winged canine on top) and Elpi (the handsome siamese cat boy sharing a secret), together in a secluded field only they know about. I can imagine her having flown down from the violet skies to meet him there, their secret romantic spot.

Japan wolf! Before I knew what the hell a furry was, my animal persona was something more like this, but here I added my current markings. I'm not japanese... but I certainly like japanese things! Another half-hearted stab at digital colouring. The tail makes me cry, but that's alright. I don't have a pen for my tablet yet ( tablet courtasy of Bastek <3 ), so this is a little hard with a mouse. I got kind of impatient. I don't think I've ever worn shorts that small... o_O;

For Farelle Moon of DA for buying me a whole years of DA subscription! I had a hard time putting clothes on this, as I do with almost anything. I just like the nude figure better than the clothed figure, especially a not-stick-thin figure. Thanks Jen, hope you like it! Done in markers and coloured pencil.

While I was trying to draw something else I've had in my mind, this guy came out of what I drew! He is supposed to have wings, but I wanted just a body pose for now. Unknown origins and species as of yet, but his name is Jin Lee. Jin is gold in chinese and Lee is plum, representative of his eye colour and fur colour. I think I will make him a celestial creature, a one of a kind and not really a species. I hope to make more pictures of him in the future, but with all the characters running around in my head, I'm not sure when I'll get to it.

Jonny Appleseed Helps the Wolf

I haven't uploaded anything for a month, so I thought I'd finally post this children's book illustration I did for class last semester. This is Jonny Appleseed helping bandage the wolf's leg after finding him in a hunter's trap. The wolf then becomes his traveling companion!

I painted this entire thing in gesso and payne's gray acrylic before glazing color (also in acrylic) over it. It was my first time trying the technique. I think it was successful in creating ground and environment textures, but I'm not pleased with the way the wolf looks. I like Jonny's face though, I should paint more humans.

Sorry for my absense! I'm in a bit of an art lull, but I wanted to share some stuff that's been sitting around with you anyway.

Younger versions of both Mack and Judy Tangerine, because I couldn't keep my dirty artist paws off of them. XD There are only subtle differences. Mack's scar isn't there, his ears aren't as torn, and Judy has no eye dots. Plus Mack is of saner mind when he's younger, he goes kind of crazy and feral, acts more like an animal when he gets older.

For a limited time I'm offering prints of both the first picture featuring these two, and this one together (that's two prints) for $13, just a few dollars off of what they would normally be together. Also both of the originals are for sale, contact me via email if anyone is interested in either.

"Sometimes things just hurt..."

Little doodle I did today to avoid doing homework and housework... My markings changed, because I got super bored of being so plain. Dark brown ears, dark ridge running down the spine and ending in dark tipped tail. Also dark nose thingy, you can't really see.

Done for the brand new yerf secret santa, for Suzi dragon lady.

I am pleased with the way it came out, but I apparently I don't know how to scan something with ridges like cardstock. This looks godaweful to me, I wish it had turned out better in the scan... Supposed to be all kabuki-ancient-japan-random -ish. I really had a hard time coming up with a historical theme for this character.

Done with watercolours and a teeny bit of coloured pencil on cardstock.

Kataragon War Regalia

Finished commission for *kcravenyote of her Kataragon character Kace! For this one, I put her in some war regalia that her particular subspecies wears for ceremonies. Their culture is similar to ancient Celts, thus the Celtic knots. This was a fun challenge, I think this is the second time I've drawn Celtic knots to date.

Peaceful Winter Perch

First Holiday Card commission completed for the awesome and sweet ~kcravenyote! This is her gorgeous cataragon (cat/dragon) character Kace, enjoying her wintery perch. I'm actually very fond of this piece, and I've made a print for myself to enjoy on my wall this winter season. =)

yay, my first gryphon in so so long! This is Kael (no, he isn't a spinach-like plant), the magical screw up. He is a character based off of Mercedes Lackey's Mage Wars world. He was to be the first of his type of gryphon when Urtho was still around, but something went wrong and he is more human than most gryphons. He has more human-like hands and feet and can walk upright somewhat, but is not a swell flyer. He's not too popular with the ladies, but he became an adept mage and mind speaker at infancy. His gift with magic makes him very dangerous, but he is very mild mannered and quiet. Like Zhaneel was at first, he only wishes to belong, and doesn't feel worth anything. Will develop him more later on.

Kahateni and Midnight Fox enjoy a quiet peaceful winter atmosphere, the falling snow silently laying down new layers on the blanketed ground, all sounds hushed... *sigh* Painting this makes me miss living in the mountains so much. This is a card commission for Kahateni, for the holidays. =3 I hope to send these out VERY soon, now I just need to print them up!

*whew* I finished up Kahateni's commission. This is truely a mixed media piece, I used all my tricks including markers, coloured pencils, watercolour, gouache, acrlic, and even the new (for me) chalk pastels. This took me a long time collectively because of size (14" X 17"), detail (i.e. wings) and some technical difficulties with the clouds, which I think I salvaged ok. They ended up looking more like huge clusters of rainbow frog eggs instead of clouds, but at least it's somewhat pleasing to look at. ><; A detail image can be found in my sketches section.

Badge number two for the night, my goal is three, but I might do more. I love her character design, and I was happy I got to use earth tones in this one. Having the oppertunity to make a badge for kahvie just plain makes me happy. ^^

The Twins

Christmas Card commission for Katanawolf of DA! I had been working on this on and off since finals weeks started, so I decided to devote tonight to finishing it now that finals are over. =3 These are her new characters, Sei (left) and Suru (right), along with their little companions Drive the lemur, and Potions the fennec fox. They seem to have their own little dynamic going on. ^^ This one was fun to do, I enjoyed working with King Cheetah markings.

I dreamt I was a Cattaur, and just had to draw myself as one. It was a little awkward since I'm not used to drawing cats or any kind, but I'm working on it.

Kazdra Chesspiece Bust

A special Christmas commission for Kazdra from her boy, Flaerion. I have two more of these really fun busts to do as commissions, so keep an eye out for more! This one was reeeaally complex. ><; Need to stretch and workout my sculpture muscles more I think. This one is about three inches tall, a little bigger than my gryphon one so I could fit in all that detail.

art trade with Keihound, probably the last thing I'll get in for a bit due to school starting soon. I was going to use my friend Melek's tablet he let me borrow, but I decided some watercolour practice couldn't hurt. Plus, I have never used a tablet in my life... need to get used to it first. I really like how sunny and simple this turned out, plus the watercolours seemed to really work out well inside the inks for once.
