9" X 12" Marker and colored pencil commission for ~Keyox! I don't have this color blue in a straight marker form, so I had to layer up ultramarine, true blue and lilac over and over to get the color I wanted. Blu here is a beautiful little midget wolf, only 2 feet tall! Can you say CUTE! ^__^

Spark - Character Sheet

I've been kicking this character around my head for over a year, going through a bunch of little stories and ideas, not really knowing what to do with her. When I saw the Iron Man movie, I knew where she fit! I wanted her to be an original character, not linked to any existing universe (not a fan character), but she fits so well in the Marvel Universe with Iron Man and the Avengers Initiative. I may still create a parallel Kinsey who isn't a Marvel character, but I wanted to do this first.

I'll admit, it's because I'm a raving mad Iron Man fan. XD

Freed Demon

My final project for my Basic Illustration class, done all in black technical pens with a teensy bit of white gouache for touch-ups (sepia tone and border in photoshop). The assignment for this one was to illustrate a fortune cookie phrase, but we could stretch it as far as we wanted, as long as it still sort of pertained to the original phrase. Mine was "Something unusual will happen to you at work or school." So maybe this is a researcher's desk who recently unrolled a Japanese scroll, and unwittingly released a terrible fox demon into the world! Or something... XD

The Komodo Dragon, last of the giant lizards, stands isolated from the rest of the world in a land of fire. She paints her body in blood and calls upon the fire of the land for the purpose of a deep meditation that will send her into adulthood.

took me long enough to do this, the sketch was a pain to clean up. Another un-inked drawing, colored with painstaking care. It's funny how your style and methods will change when faced with art block.

I was inspired at first by a program on the discovery channel about Komodo dragons. The blood tattoos are inspired by Hiroaki Samura's Blade of the Immortal ( the book called on Silent Wings II ).

shadowolf traded with shadowwolf! waddya know! This took me for freaking ever because I'm not used to coloring such dark things. I used entirely black and the gradients of French grey on this. It ended up looking uneven and patterned instead of solid black.

A commission I've been working on for Kahateni, took me a while. Thanks for the creative freedom with the background hun! Her characters, Kazdra and Kahateni in the final moments of a sword battle. Man, finding a good reference for these clothes was difficult... I really wish I had more to say about it, other than that I'm really proud of the way it turned out, and I hope it was worth the wait and the money for Kahateni!

Commission for Leopatra! Cub version of little leopatra gets her nose into trouble, sniffing into Exitus Kite's blue paint. ^^ I realize a mistake I made which is something I should have spotted in the sketch. The horizon line is too low for how far back the cave on the right goes, it's as if the two areas are made in two seperate perspectives. =/ I am sorry I made this kind of mistake on a commission, I hope it's still alright with Leopatra.

I drew this nearly a year ago, around the time I first started dating my boyfriend (or mate, whichever you prefer). I guess I just felt like I could finally let go and cry in someone's arms.. thus, sappy nifty pic. also my first attempt at drawing the buttocks. did pretty well, if you ask me. ^^

ah, I adore this picture, even though it is very simple. Based off of a dream I will put in a nutshell for you.
I was an archeologist exploring a site where a great creator once lived. She was an artist, and alchemist, a scientist, you name it. She knew every kind of science, magic and art. She created a white wolf like this one to keep her company. the wolf and she became best friends and I can't say, but I think lovers too. I was this creator reincarnated, and my presence brought back to life the white wolf. I remembered him, he remembered me, and we embraced. His fur was so soft like rabbit's, but thicker. and his smooth black claws, made for killing, wrapped gently around me as if to protect me. *sigh* fuzzy!

This was done as a class project, meant to represent five things important to me:

~art (paintbrush in mouth)
~wolves & animals (me as a wolf)
~family and friends (two ghost things on the sides)
~a stable and growing life (tree)
~something to do with flying (lil' wings and pilot goggles)

When I created it, I was not proud of it at all, thinking it was a total piece of crap. I still don't think it's among my best work. But now that minor changes have been made and it has been bought, I find myself oddly attached to it. It's very obviously a personal piece for me, so it's hard to let go. I am confident the buyer will treat it well and give credit where it's due.

Lightwings

Besides American Eskimos, I don't think I've ever drawn a specific breed of dog. So I tried my hand at a light colored husky, and gave him some cute little wings to add to his cuddle-ability.

Anyway, did this with prismacolor markers and graphite on 6" X 8" bristol. The colors I used were black, 30% cool grey, 20% cool grey, blondewood, sand, eggshell (for his fur) clay rose, salmon pink (for mouth and ears) and some true blue for his eyes.

This was to be an entry for when Likeshine was the postmaster for the trading post over at yerf, but I got impatient with it and went off to be social before it was finished. I'm happy I finally got a chance to draw the famous burd herself! Spiced it up a teeny bit with a funky background element, not sure what I was shooting for there, but I like it. I also wanted to draw myself as a gryphon, and I think I really like how it turned out. Wanted more owly wings, but the pattern would have messed it up and looked to busy. Anyway, hope everyone likes it! Maybe prints of this later, if Likeshine approves.

Since the trading post got started I've wanted to draw the little guy more than ever! So while sitting around today I whipped a little doodle of him up for the fun of it. Sendiri is half Kitsune and half Tanuki (which despite popular beliefe is not a raccoon). Tanuki are actually raccoon-like dogs that live in Japan. Really does look like a raccoon, huh? They are in fact a canid though. Which makes Sendiri an even more likely character (as likely as a magical cross-species anthro guy can get).

For this week's trading post! Lizardbeth was a pleasure to draw, especially since it was a nice break from school and boredom. Being a reptile, I figured she's like a nice lie in the sun, so I ran with the sun theme and surrounded her with sunflakes! yeah, sunflakes...
