The last of my practice paintings I've decided to upload. This began as a landscape, but somehow ended up to be this little lizard dude on a mushroom. I really like how the stem of the 'shroom and his little spots turned out.

Since Preston is on my mind quite a bit, he's bound to be the subject of some of my classwork. I know he looks much like a girl in this watercolour painting, but that's what he gets for having pretty long red hair. :heart: I'm fond the of the way the paint settled above hid head, like a halo of some sort.

Another watercolour painting from my painting class. I had just finished "Salamandastron" of the redwall series when I made this. This is one of the main characters, Samkin, sneaking along holding the sword of Martin the warrior in his claw. I've taken a break from Redwall since then, now working on the Halo trilogy.

One of the little watercolour paintings I've done in my painting class for practice. Decided Wolf Nymph would look cool in a more exaggerated dynamic style for once. Not my best, but I thought it was pretty cool.

Yet another sketch I wanted to do something with before I finished that sketchbook. This was actually the first page of my sketchbook, I really liked it when I drew it. hmm, not much to say. I rather like his legs! ^__^

For a little while there I was constantly drawing Cyrus, he's all over my sketchbook in one thick section. I thought it'd be cool to turn Wolf Nymph into one of his species (mammalian dragon). I've had this in my sketchbook for so long, and I really liked it, so it's about time I did something with it (even if it's not what I originally intended). I have so many sketches I want to go somewhere with and no time for all of them that this is the furthest they will go; no backgrounds, just coloured and given a place in my gallery. I hope I can get to some of the other ones before my sketchbook runs out of paper. If I can do that, I even want to get to a few from my previous sketchbook. In the meantime, back to school and life! <3

Sorry this is a bit large...

Here are my first four pieces I created when I first started getting into bristol. I've decided to put a little colour to them and part with them for good. All of them are up for sale over at furbid as well as a bunch of other originals I have.

http://www.furbid.ws/cgi-bin/auction.pl?alluser&Shadowolf

I'm trying to raise some money for school supplies for my new quarter at art school, as well as some for my halloween costume. These are all week long auctions, the majority of which began a few days ago. And these bristol pieces will be deleted from my gallery and NO prints will be made. Hope you enjoy!

My long awaited entry for wereblood's contest! Wereblood and Dirty Paws get all riled up and start playing in true canine fashion. I realize Dirty Paws' hind legs look a bit funky and splayed at first, but they're supposed to do that. I used a couple references for playing dogs and wolves, and that's more or less how I saw the hind legs going. I know it's not much, but it was fun and I kept my promise to make an entry.

This was to be an entry for when Likeshine was the postmaster for the trading post over at yerf, but I got impatient with it and went off to be social before it was finished. I'm happy I finally got a chance to draw the famous burd herself! Spiced it up a teeny bit with a funky background element, not sure what I was shooting for there, but I like it. I also wanted to draw myself as a gryphon, and I think I really like how it turned out. Wanted more owly wings, but the pattern would have messed it up and looked to busy. Anyway, hope everyone likes it! Maybe prints of this later, if Likeshine approves.

I'm so sick and tired of all these assholes that my sister attracts. I don't understand how a human being can be so goddamned evil, especially towards a great girl like my older sister. After hearing news of a certain one of these boys' recent prickish-ness, I drew this wishing I could really close jaws on that bastard's throat... Yes, he's a german shepard.

Finally something of true real-media from me again. REAL coloured pencils, not graphite shading under photoshop tint this time. So, you figured it would happen eventually. I ought to be a rabbit myself if I'm going to be with a rabbit, so here I am! Changed Wolf Nymph into a bunny for a long owed pin-up to Preston. I drew him one a long time ago, and I figured I could do a hell of a lot better now. Also part one of his belated birthday present. Happy (8 days late) 23rd! <3

Alright, one more... This one's my MLP version of my current love, Preston. Normally he's a rabbit but I can't help but turn my loved ones into those loveable, deformed, hoofless PONIES! XD If you want to critique you may, but it's done now so I won't really be using your critique. Maybe for later pony projects I shall consider your advice?

..enjoy

Japan wolf! Before I knew what the hell a furry was, my animal persona was something more like this, but here I added my current markings. I'm not japanese... but I certainly like japanese things! Another half-hearted stab at digital colouring. The tail makes me cry, but that's alright. I don't have a pen for my tablet yet ( tablet courtasy of Bastek <3 ), so this is a little hard with a mouse. I got kind of impatient. I don't think I've ever worn shorts that small... o_O;

Mel Cooke's character, Ashta for yerf's secret santa! The theme was faery tales, and I couldn't resist transforming Ashta into a greenling faery (considering she's way into green things and plants). The symbols on the rocks are from Brian Fround and Ari Berk's book "The Runes of Elfland". The one on the left is the rune of Sustenance (y'know, water, soil, plant-feeding things) and the other one is the rune of Joy (because Ashta is a VERY joyful character). I sincerely hope Mel like's it, it was a pleasure to create. :heart:

Finally, something for the Trading post over in the yerf forums. I've been slacking on that, and this character was just too much fun. This is Danielle Bertocci's fantasy anthro wasp character, Miz! This was a really delightful character to draw, just so femanine and delicate. Just so this is clear, I'd like to tell you all that this is NOT coloured pencil. This was inked and shaded in my sketchbook with graphite, and tinted in photoshop. Hope you like it!

An animal persona design for someone who will likely make frequent appearences in my art to come. I had the general idea of what he wanted, made a little lineart doodle and whipped out a ton of (slightely) different designs. aaaaand, I just realized two of those are the same, but oh well. The difference between the bottom two is that one has red freckles and the other has brown freckles.

Decided to go with the bottom left; red freckled. I coloured the original lineart, but it rather sucks considering it's right out of my sketchbook and the original is two inches long... A good session of character designing over all! I love doing this stuff. ^^

Another blasphemic image... My mammalian sand dragon, Cyrus, as a my little pony. I just couldn't help myself, these are a bunch of fun. I think my pony obsession has been quelled though, so no Shade or Sendiri ponies anytime soon. I make no promises.

Had a hard time coming up with a symbol for him, decided to go with changing moon phases; in his story he goes from his home in the sandy desert civilization his people had created, to the forest keep that Shade's people have made their home. So I suppose it's a symbol of change and adaptation. That and I seem to not be able to deviate from any sort of moon theme... anyhoo, enjoy!

I thought it was about time I jumped onto the bandwagon with this one, made a My Little Pony version of Wolf Nymph. Hunters moon and an oak leaf are my little flank designs, also perhaps a future tattoo (not on my flank, mind you). I liked it enough to not stick it in scketches, give it some attention. Enjoy!

I don't do much with digital because I don't have a tablet, but I wanted to try somethin new with this lineart. This is Shelley Monahan's doberman character, Dawndra! I don't know what it's supposed to mean, I just thought it was nifty. I think I can do better but... I was getting really sick of this near the end.

A little thingy I whipped up and coloured in my sketchbook to get something new in here and to say some stuff. I'm going to California for a week, so all trades and commissions are delayed until then. I'll respond to all notes and emails once I get back. Wish me luck, I'm going to pick up my first car!

A little ditty for Wolfdog, who won the cleanfurs community icon contest! I'm sorry, it isn't much wolfdog, but I hope you like it. The border would have been better if I hadn't rushed it in time to get to dinner... ;___;

A commission I've been working on for Kahateni, took me a while. Thanks for the creative freedom with the background hun! Her characters, Kazdra and Kahateni in the final moments of a sword battle. Man, finding a good reference for these clothes was difficult... I really wish I had more to say about it, other than that I'm really proud of the way it turned out, and I hope it was worth the wait and the money for Kahateni!

A badge for Trickster. A little commission I figured would need to be done soon. I also thought I could afford a quick break to do this. This is my first badge! I like how it turned out, and I think I might make mock-badges for my characters for fun if I have time. Have fun at AC everyone, I can't afford to go this year. ;__;

little_sendiri.jpg

Since the trading post got started I've wanted to draw the little guy more than ever! So while sitting around today I whipped a little doodle of him up for the fun of it. Sendiri is half Kitsune and half Tanuki (which despite popular beliefe is not a raccoon). Tanuki are actually raccoon-like dogs that live in Japan. They look something like this: http://www1.plala.or.jp/oshima/tanuki.gif
Really does look like a raccoon, huh? They are in fact a canid though. Which makes Sendiri an even more likely character (as likely as a magical cross-species anthro guy can get).

I recently saw Spiderman 2, so I was reminded of how I used to be pretty obsessed with the comic sometime in middle school and early highschool. Venom was always my favourite bad guy, because A) He's not quite a villain, more of a tortured soul sorta guy, and B) because he's damn badass!

So I decided to draw this, a not-quite-venom thing. No green slobber and no white markings aside from his eyes, but still distinctly a host to the venom symbiote. I don't quite know why, but I love this picture to death. I spent way more time on it than I should have. :heart: All for love of Eddie Brock... I'm not sure if I can copyright this guy in his entirety, but I'd like to use him as a fan character if I could. So no stealy. =P

For this week's trading post #61. Aura's golden retriever character, Rip. Every skater eats concrete pretty bad every once in a while. I've seen my brother and his friends get some nasty road rash playing around on the CU boulder campus. Rip bites the dust too, because I had an urge to draw skinned knees.

"From these roots, I spring, tearing from myself in different directions. I am one entity, one creature grown from the nurturing stable earth soil. Then why do I feel the need to tear my roots from the soil and run away from that which has been my life?"

Something that has been in my sketchbook for a while that I've wanted to finish. Originally it was going to be an all gouche painting, but I got frustrated with it and reverted to my usual mixed media. Illustrates how I've been feeling for the last month or so. This really hasn't been easy...
