More experimentation with markers and coloured pencil, this time after I went out and bought a chartreuse and spring green markers. I actually really like this, what's neat is that when you hold it up to the light, the markers make the figures glow. Most of the time I spent on this was getting that stark black background with the markers and pencils I had. The entire page is coloured, all the way to every edge, and covered with fixative it makes it look neat and glossy.

Nice Hat

He has a great hat, right? XD Slightly belated valentines day piece for my wonderful boyfriend of 4.5 years, Preston! It's sort of a continuation of this piece, which I did for him a little over 2 years ago. I figure that dragon would have gotten a little bigger by now! I do rather like this piece, though I lament the lack of a background. Alas, no time! I have lots of school work to do. =)

My default is canine with crescent moon, so I decided to get REALLY wild and paint a raptor with cresenct moon! ooooh!! ok, I actually like this, but I could have done much better if it wasn't done in a rush the morning of the day it was due...

I have this horrible fear of my mate dying, in any circumstance. my wolfish self is bigger and less femanine looking here because I decided that's what happens when I'm emotionally distrought, kind of a natural defense mode. Although I do not like the anatomy - especially the legs - I am pleased with this older pic.

I've gotten a lot of notes and emails about my last two submissions, which are both under the mature content filter on deviantart because of nudity. I've been told that you've lost respect for me for drawing naked bodies, be they human or fantasy creatures. Allow me to tell you all who care so much about seeing a breast or two, or a bit of some character's nether regions that there's a big difference between pornography and nudity in art. If you cannot recognize the difference, or if you loose respect for me for depicting either, then just don't look. =)

What I have chosen to show in my VCL gallery is mild in comparison to some other works I have floating around out there anyway.

Riding Wild Waves

Cover piece for my final humanities seminar class paper, all about the Noah's Ark story. =3 When I was a kid, my mom never asked me to go to church, or made me read the bible or anything, but I was made aware of several bible stories through children's books. Noah's Ark was always my favourite because it involved animals, LOTS of them. I would have liked this piece to be a bit more refined, as well as larger so I could fit more animals into the waves, but I did it all in one sitting to get it done in time. Inpired greatly by Katsushika Hokusai's famous wave piece.

I've been sketching alot in the past few days, filling up my sketchbook a bit... I can't bring myself to make a 'finished' even though I have plenty of them to do, so I decided to at least colour this one directly from my sketchbook. It doesn't look as nice, and it's a bit of a flashback as far as technique goes, but it's sorta emotional art (ha, sorta). So if you have any critiques I'd appreciate if you kept them to yourself...

Alternative facial markings for Wolf Nymph. I like this design a lot, I want to figure out a way to use it without having to change Wolf Nymph again. Maybe I'll just be a putz and use the facial markings interchangeably, beause I like both of them and I can't decide on which one to use permanantly. Then again, Wolf Nymph is an ever changing character, so I guess I don't have to pick a permanant design.

This is my second ever bristol piece. Another blue thing, since I seem to be obsessed with creating blue characters. Not much of a story behind this one, except that I wanted to make a pretty thing, so I did.

I went to the Wolf and found him asleep.
I said to the Wolf:

The Wolf smiled and said:

You are you and I am me."

I'm sorry this is so big! It was done on bristol and I didn't want to loose detail. A commission done for a fellow therian friend. I'm very pleased with how the older wolf's right front paw turned out.

I felt unlike myself.. something was tugging at my heart and it made me want to cry... plus this is nifty angsty fangy pose! and also a more realistic fur coloring for myself. my hair is much more like this but darker, rather than that reddish brown color I always make it in drawings.

I haven't drawn my panda boy in the longest time! I did this in all black pen ('cept the blue eyes, for which I used a blue micron) during class today. Even thought it's not what I was supposed to be doing, I dedicated the entire 4 hours of class to this. took me a bit less though.

Just having fun with this concept in my head and giving backgrounds of a sort a shot. I ruined the bushes, murdered to grass, maimed the trees and tilted one edge of the background block... but hey! the clouds are nice..? *shrug*

Thought I'd do a little something with my new markings (minus the stripe down the back) and my two best friends: Mason and my dog (Wolfy). Mason is supposed to be a weird patterned panda... but he looks like a frikkin' badger. ><; Wolfy is a Miniature American Eskimo, my little fuzzy brother and best friend for life.

Can't say I'm super proud of this, but I think it's pretty nifty. I'm an earthy plant chick (thus the green flame), but I dig the red and earth tones, so I don't wear much green. I'm also looking less and less like a wolf as time goes on...

erm, woof! ^^;

Snow Play

Holiday card commission for *pekingin-ankka of an anthro Akita playing with two arctic foxes in the snow! This is one of my favorities by far, because I love the foxy-orange fur and bearish face of the akita, and arctic foxes are one of my absolute favorite animals! I have lots of arctic fox art in my apartment. ^^ This is another one I printed for myself to enjoy in my own home.

Wolf Nymph Pelt Badge

I thought it would be funny to see Wolf Nymph as a pelt, so I made this two sided badge to show off that idea! ^^ I'll be taking commissions for these at FC, as well as my normal badges, graphite badges, and special acrylic painted badges with full backgrounds. Next FC sample I post will hopefully be of that later on this weekend.

Pest

I call him pest with the utmost tenderness and love. Utterly random Eskie in a hoodie, MY random eskie in fact. Was watching my dog sleep as I myself was curled up in my black hoodie sketching on the couch. decided to scan it, then started to mess with it in photoshop a bit. No purpose, just fun.

He's an American Eskimo dog, Eskie for short! They do look a lot like samoyeds, but tinier and less chunky features. My dog (points to anthropomorphized version) weighs about 20 pounds. =3

After my first piece depicting Peyton, I thought of something much cooler looking I could do, and so did it! This will be the final illustration project in two of my classes, and it's one of my best to date. I can see the mistakes I made, and when I overworked parts of it, but overall I think it turned out good. I took some artistic and stylistic liberties with musk ox anatomy, but not so much that anyone would notice unless they were musk oxen experts.
